Obama's Wrights & Wrongs

Some three-dot monte on False Messiah's "Sister Soldjah problem"....

So far as I know, J-Ger connected those two dots waaaay back on Friday evening.  He also raised some points, then and since, that even the Obamanation will be hard-pressed to refute:

Millions upon millions of Americans have a pastor, priest, rabbi or minister who they like, but may not always agree with in every sermon. But those Americans' religious leaders probably have never called the country "the U.S. of KKK A." It's unlikely they've ever heard, "God damn America" from their pulpit, and I suspect many Americans would walk out upon hearing that. They've probably never heard that figure tell them that their own government invented the AIDS virus.

What's even more unlikely is that Senator Obama could attend that "church" for twenty-two years and never, not a single time, hear any of "Rev'rund" Wright's "controversial" sermons.  Evidently Wright has a reputation for being a flaming anti-white bigot and crazy, wacko Ameriphobic conspiracist.  From what has come out over just the last few days it seems to be a regular enough occurance that his protege's claim that he never knew a thing about his "pastor's" um, dark side makes Hillary Clinton's ever-growing Bosnia war story look like an Edwin R. Murrow blitz broadcast.  Even if by some fantastic twist of fate B.O. happened to be elsewhere every time Uncle Jerry had a meltdown, you'd think word would get around to him.  Or a video tape.

That's what makes a story like this Newsmax report seem all but inevitable:

Contrary to Senator Barack Obama’s claim that he never heard his pastor Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. preach hatred of America, Obama was in the pews last July 22 when the minister blamed the “white arrogance” of America’s Caucasian majority for the world’s suffering, especially the oppression of blacks....

If Obama’s claims are true that he was completely unaware that Wright’s trademark preaching style at the Trinity United Church of Christ has targeted “white” America and Israel, he would have been one of the few people in Chicago to be so uninformed. Wright’s reputation for spewing hate is well known.

In fact, Obama was present in the South Side Chicago church on July 22 last year when Jim Davis, a freelance correspondent for Newsmax, attended services along with Obama. [See: ”Obama’s Church: Cauldron of Division.”]

In his sermon that day, Wright tore into America, referring to the “United States of White America” and lacing his sermon with expletives as Obama listened. Hearing Wright’s attacks on his own country, Obama had the opportunity to walk out, but Davis said the senator sat in his pew and nodded in agreement.

Addressing the Iraq war, Wright thundered, “Young African-American men” were “dying for nothing.” The “illegal war,” he shouted, was “based on Bush’s lies” and is being “fought for oil money.” [emphasis added]

Team Hussein claims that Obama was actually in Miami giving a speech on that particular day and thus couldn't have been present for that Wright screed.  Mayhap he was and mayhap he wasn't.  Maybe Davis got his dates mixed up, since he says he was present on several Trinity United services in July of last year.  Maybe B.O.'s people are lying through their teeth.  It's also all irrelevant to the core point.  Obama not being in church on July 22, 2007 does not correlate, ipso facto, with him being stupendously ignorant of the fact that his spiritual guru is a black night rider.  That dog, as they say, won't hunt.

Particularly since other Obama-Wright conversations have emerged from several months prior to last July clearly delineating that Obama knew Wright would be a political liability, and Wright TOLD Obama that he would be a political liability, and that they would have to "part company" (outwardly) at some point in the interests of Our Mr. Hussein's ambition to be a "prince of this world".

I guess from this and this we can conclude that the time of the outward parting has come.  But it isn't getting B.O. out of the woods - not yet, anyway:

He’s bordering on arrogance.

The dictionary defines the word as an “offensive display of superiority or self-importance; overbearing pride.” Obama may not be offensive or overbearing, but he can be a bit too cocky for his own good. …

But both Obama and his wife, Michelle, ooze a sense of entitlement.

“Barack is one of the smartest people you will ever encounter who will deign to enter this messy thing called politics,” his wife said a few weeks ago, adding that Americans will get only one chance to elect him.

"Obama may not be offensive or overbearing"?  Oh, I don't know about that.  I would think that any normal, well-adjusted, feet-planted-firmly-on-Terra-firma individual would become more than a little uncomfortable being told that s/he is a virtual demigod on a daily basis.  I would also think that the more our hypothetical test subject was exposed to this incessant, 24/7 ass-kissing, they would slowly begin to buy into it, and thus become inexorably more, well, offensive and overbearing.

It reminds me of what cartoon villains always say (or did when I was a kid, anyway) when they're defeated at the end of every episode.  They invariably blame their latest foiling on their stooges/flunkies/hired muscle.  "Why am I surrounded by such fools?!?" they rage.  I always figured that was a problem that started at the top.  In the same way, it seems highly unlikely that Senator Obama could be treated to a truimphal procession every day for months on end and not become....addicted to it.  Just like years of regular immersion in black supremacy ideology couldn't help but seep into his "moral compass" by osmosis, even if his campaign schedule didn't permit him to be snoring in the back pews on every Sunday morning, and even if he only originally took to attending Trinity United to purchase "black authenticity" "street cred".

Consequently, and bringing this back 'round full circle, J-Ger asks:

What [is Obama] going to tell me about [Rev'rund Wright] that refutes the "God damn America" line? What "full measure" am I going to see that makes me say, "oh, well, now I'm okay with his called for our nation to be damned by God.

Similarly, Obama seems to have felt it necessary to mention that Wright was a Marine in every interview. Great. That doesn't change the fact that he just called for God's wrath upon our own country. How many Americans will say, 'well, one balances out the other?'

It's like the line that Wright's comments are being taken out of context. Show me the context that makes that line okay, or the context that justifies the charge that the U.S. government created the AIDS virus.

It's really not complicated at all: Jeremiah Wright is the antithesis of everything Barack Obama claims to aspire to be: a unifier.  He is a left-wing, anti-Semitic, racist extremist.  Has been for his four decades behind the pulpit.  Obama has discipled under him for just over half of that time.  He cannot possibly have EVER been "unaware" of what his "pastor" was and what he stood for.  Therefore he must agree with it to some extent.  And one would think that would render him unelectable.

You could even say that B.O. has "swift-boated" himself.

The only other alternative explanation is posited by AP, and it's one that sounds eerily familiar:

Who’s the real Obama, the guy who shrugs at Wright’s sermons because he needs the racial credibility Wright gives him or the guy who casts Wright out of his virtual house lest the project of healing be impeded? Answer: Both. Whatever you need him to be, that’s what he is....He’s tripped badly over Wright this past week but don’t let that tree distract you from seeing the forest of what a spectacularly shrewd politician this guy is. If he had had the Clintons’ connections, he would have wrapped up the nomination around January 15th.

Sound like anybody you know....?  Hey, he's holding another crusade tomorrow.  Always hew to your strengths, I always say.
