You Always Hurt The One You "Love"

Joe Scarborough fires away at the next president of the United States:

Much as it irritates me that blasting this barracuda might benefit Benedict McCain, there is simply no logic to the claim that cutting and running from Iraq will stabilize that country, to say nothing of "discouraging" continued Iranian subversions and incursions.  Her casting retreat from the Middle East as a component of "rebuilding the military" that her (and Bill's) first and second administrations did their utmost to disembowel is class Clintonoid audacity.  But her obstinate denial of the reality of the success of the Petraeus "surge" strategy is just brain-dead.  No wonder Darth Queeg is focused like a laser beam on Iraq.

That makes this Evan Bayh testimonial all the more disquieting - as well as hilariously ironic:

A "spine of steel," eh?  This about the woman who flip-flopped over then-New York Governor Eliot "Ness" Spitzer's drivers-licenses-for-illegal-aliens scheme five times in three minutes and twelve seconds in a Donk primary debate last fall.

Of course, that was in a situation in which (1) she was actually being challenged and (2) she had something to lose.  Once entrenched in power, she'll never change her mind about anything again, because she'll actively destroy any and all opposition....well, pre-emptively.

You think I'm joking about her future "Alaska gulag"?  Remember the last leader of a major global power whose nickname included the word "steel" - and also Her Nib's favorite pant suit color.
