"The Finest Military In The World"

....is the one that is the smallest, has no state-of-the-art weaponry, can't get anywhere (and therefore can never fight and can be "kept safe"), is composed of gelded pacifists, and has the most current and former veterans on government assistance.  Basically, merge the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard into the Peace Corps.

Well, that's the impression I got, anyway....
