False Messiahs Never Change

Looks and sounds eerily familiar, doesn't it?

The problem with pushing the Carter-Obama parallel, as I've commented before, is that nobody much under the age of fifty has any direct memory of what the day-to-day experience of the Carter malaise and national humiliation was like.  You might as well run ads casting BO as a really badly sunburned Franklin Pierce for all the practical meaning that message will have to younger voters.

If that link is going to be pursued, whether by the RNC or Team Maverick, they'll need to make a series of ads educating those same younger voters on how this "messiah" gimmick has been trundled out by the Dems before, and the miserable way it turned out.

Morphing Mr. Peanut into BO wouldn't be a bad graphic to end each spot.

Can't wait for the Iran-centered one.  "Barack Obama wants to bow down to the same man Jimmy Carter allowed to storm our embassy and take the staff hostage thirty years ago."

Boy, the copy almost does write itself, doesn't it?
