This DNC ad should be entitled, "Giving 'em both barrels while staring down their ends":

Thanks to the Bush tax cuts of 2001 and 2003, the U.S. economy has been able to recover from the Clinton recession and absorb both the 9/11 attacks and the 2005 hurricanes and still grow at a 4% clip and create millions of new jobs.  Why would it be strange or untoward for Lord Queeg to hitch the Straight Talk Express to such a record of prosperity and success (other than that he opposed those tax cuts in the first place)?

Meanwhile, the energy price-fueled inflation (the product of a generation of left-wing environmental extremism) and unemployment blip (the product of the Dems' most recent hike in the minimum wage from last year) have nothing whatsoever to do with Dubya, and everything to do with the domestic policies that Barack Hussein Obama is touting:

The teeth-gnasher here is Sailor's "balance" schtick.  If Donk energy and environmental policies are wrong, why would he want to implement any of them to any degree whatsoever?  There's nothing wrong, after all, with "toeing the party line" if the "party line" actually makes sense.

Of course, in this case you'd have to determine just exactly what the GOP party line on energy and environmental policy is.  A task made especially difficult by the extreme reluctance of most 'Pubbies to take a stand on ANYthing these days, much less a third rail like "saving Bambi" from going up in greenhouse-gas-fueled climatological flames, or whatever.

As long as pump prices continue to levitate above the four dollar mark, McCain's stubborn propensity for political bed-short-sheeting should be offset by commonsensical public demands for maximizing our domestic energy supplies.

Incidentally, NAFTA was Bill Clinton's baby.  Also the only major policy initiative of his that I supported.  As does....Barack Hussein Obama, depending upon the time of day, the day of the week, where he's at in his menstrual cycle, and what phase Luna is in.  No wonder Dr. Demented is so confused.
