Their Hero, Zero

Leaving ideology aside for a moment (if that's even possible where Barack Hussein Obama is concerned), Ron Kessler argues that BO's problem isn't so much that he's inexperienced as that, where actual substantial career accomplishments and the effective leadership they represent are concerned, he's all but invisible.

First, as a "community organizer":

Before being elected to the Illinois state Senate, Obama worked as a community organizer and a lawyer in Chicago.

In his memoir, Obama says being a community organizer taught him how to motivate the powerless and work the government to help them. His chief example is an effort to remove asbestos from Altgeld Gardens, an all-black public housing project on Chicago’s South Side.

But those who were involved in the effort say Obama played a minor role in working the problem and never accomplished his goal.

They also slam him for his penchant for taking credit for the accomplishments of other people that he wishes were his:

A pre-existing group at Altgeld Gardens and a local newspaper, the Chicago Reporter, were working on the problem before Obama came on the scene, yet Obama does not mention them in his book, Dreams From My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.”

Parenthetically, isn't it awfully conceited for somebody barely into his forties who's never done anything significant in or with his life despite ample attempts at it to be writing an autobiography and actually expecting people to buy and read it?  It should have been entitled "....A Story of Race and Entitlement."

“Just because someone writes it, doesn't make it true,” says Altgeld resident Hazel Johnson, who had been pushing for a cleanup of the cancer-producing substance years before Obama showed up.

Representative Bobby L. Rush, D-IL, says it was Johnson's work, along with asbestos testing by the Chicago Reporter, that got Chicago officials interested in the issue. Rush, who launched an inquiry into the situation when he was a member of the Chicago City Council, says he is “offended” that Obama did not mention Johnson in his account.

Of course he didn't.  Doing so would defeat his purpose: to plagiarize the resumes of his betters.  Perhaps the reason he's never actually DONE anything of note is because he was too busy dishonestly promoting himself, not unlike his half-term in the Senate has mostly been spent dishonestly running for president.  And even that half-term wasn't earned, but, between his GOP predecessor's retirement, his original GOP opponent's sex scandal, and (sorry, Ambassador Keyes) the running joke who carpetbagged his way onto the Illinois ballot, simply fell into Messiah's lap like overripe fruit.

Not unlike another prequel memoir/advance political blueprint, Dreams From My Father did telegraph the dynamic that is propelling Captain Hopeandchange to undreamed heights:

Michelle Obama has said his work as a community organizer helped him decide “how he would impact the world,” assisting people to improve their lives. Yet, in a revealing passage in his book, Obama wrote, “When classmates in college asked me just what it was that a community organizer did, I couldn’t answer them directly.”

Instead, he said, “I’d pronounce on the need for change. Change in the White House, where Reagan and his minions were carrying on their dirty deeds. Change in the congress, compliant and corrupt. Change in the mood of the country, manic and self-absorbed. Change won’t come from the top, I would say. Change will come from a mobilized grass roots.”

Thus, Obama admitted that he accomplished little but that he was able to cover that up with fancy talk about change.

Yet now he seeks power over the nation so he can impose "change" from the top down.  Hard not to notice the lionesque roar of that irony.  Or be appalled that such a pathetic scam from a man so indolent is enjoying such enormous success.

That indolence typified his legal "career" as well:

After going to Harvard Law School, Obama returned to Chicago, where he briefly headed a voter registration drive and then became a lawyer. While Obama’s campaign has touted him as a civil rights lawyer, “Over the nine years that Obama’s law license was active in Illinois, he never handled a trial and mostly worked in teams of lawyers who drew up briefs and contracts in a variety of cases,” according to David Mendell’s Obama: From Promise To Power.

Local cases in which he appeared - not tried, or co-tried, but merely "appeared": zero.  Federal district court "appearances": five.  Federal appellate court "appearances": five.  In nine years.

As to his legislative "career," only one bill he's ever sponsored - a resolution essentially saying that Congolese upheaval is really, really bad - has actually passed.  And he's voted "present" a lot, on the intermittent occasions when that adjective has actually been nominally, kinda-sorta true.

I disagree with Kessler that this shows Barack Hussein Obama to be "mediocre."  Mediocrity is defined as "averageness".  This background, this record, shows Lucifer to be a near total fraud, and having been one long before he ever rose to national prominence, ran for president, and spent the past four months reiterating it every time he opens his mouth.

If there's anything that gives me hope that this noodlehead will be shot down before November, it is that it still seems inconceivable, even in this day and age of historical illiteracy and cultural decadence, that a majority of American voters can be fooled (and racially intimidated) this easily.  Surely some fraying cord of public sanity will hold instead of breaking, and I can spend the ensuing four years gleefully blasting the bejesus out of Lord Queeg for the continuance of his inevitable serial, GOP-disintegrating sell-outs to the Dems.

Of course, I thought the same thing sixteen years ago, and we saw how THAT turned out.  Why should this cycle be any different?
