Bailout Boondoggle
I'm as frustrated as Michelle Malkin about this bailout mess. Not that I'm any financial whiz or anything. What I'm frustrated about is the Republicans' refusal to shout from the rooftops just how we got into this mess. This is an almost exclusively Democrat-caused crisis, yet nobody seems to want to say that firmly and loudly. It's not like it's going to make them not want to work with the Republicans on the problem, nothing is going to change that. They have succeeded in convincing a large swath of the American people that it's George Bush and the Republicans who caused it, and they're the ones who can fix it. It's enough to make your head explode. And Newt Gingrich, whom I have a lot of respect for and who makes a lot of sense most of the time, drives me NUTS when he does stuff like this. Why can't they figure out that the vipers on the other side of the aisle have no intention of "working together?" You'd think HE would know that, of all people.
I'm starting to agree with Jim that we're heading for a major train wreck in this country. I'm finding it hard to go all Pollyanna about this one.
