Catching Up With Barry

Since the leader of the Democrat Party, next President of the United States, and god who has the unsurpassed judgment to lead the world into an new golden age of state-dispensed utopia felt like he couldn't be bothered with doing his current job as a United States senator and return to Washington to help his party block any plan that might actually stabilize financial markets and avert an economic collapse that will entrench its, and his, rule in perpetuity, let's take a [*AHEM*] brief look at what's he's been up to, shall we?

***Who knew B.O. was so lacking in originality when it comes to terrorizing seniors?:

In Daytona Beach, Obama said that “if my opponent had his way, the millions of Floridians who rely on it would’ve had their Social Security tied up in the stock market this week.” He referred to “elderly women” at risk of poverty, and said families would be scrambling to support “grandmothers and grandfathers.”

That’s not true. The plan proposed by President Bush and supported by McCain in 2005 would not have allowed anyone born before 1950 to invest any part of their Social Security taxes in private accounts. All current retirees would be covered by the same benefits they are now. …

In our “Scaring Seniors” article posted September 19 we took apart a claim in an Obama-Biden ad that McCain somehow supported a 50% cut in Social Security benefits, which is simply false. Then, on Saturday September 20, Senator Barack Obama personally fed senior citizens another whopper, this one a highly distorted claim about the private Social Security accounts that McCain supports.

I know why the Dems roll this nonsense out every election season - because it works.  It must, or there would be no practical purpose to repeating it.  What I don't get is WHY it works.  This has been a mendatious (and viciously cruel) Donk mantra ever since Social Security was enacted over seventy years ago, and it has NEVER - NOT ONCE EVER - come true.  Today's SS recipients have been hearing Dems shriek that "'Pubbies want to take away Granny's pension, throw her in a snow bank and make her eat Alpo!" their ENTIRE LIVES.  It's the biggest bunch of pathetic BS in the political lexicon.  It's so far beyond cliche, it makes cliches sound like canonized Scripture.  Yet Dems keep saying it.  But you would think that The Greatest Orator Of Our Age Whose Words Nobody Ever Remembers would be able to come up with at least a more original way of phrasing it, if not an original demographic terrorism angle itself.

Oh, wait, I guess trying to link scaring Granny with his party's bankrupting of Wall Street qualifies as being original.  Still BS, but technically original.  As opposed to Social Security's guaranteed and rapidly approaching actuarial day of reckoning, which is the Barack's honest truth - and also a Democrat-created disaster of even more legendary proportions.

Meanwhile, he has quietly put himself in favor of raising the Social Security retirement age.  Something for which I would commend him were I gullible enough to actually take his surreptitious omission seriously.  Maybe if McCain - who is a seasoned citizen himself, don't forget - ever resumes his campaign, he can swing by the Sunshine state and point that out.

***Who knew Lucifer was so lacking in redistributionist aggression?:

Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) said in an interview aired Tuesday that the cost of the mortgage bailout plan may rein in his ambitious plans for health care, energy, education and infrastructure.

Obama’s comments reflect the possible new constraints on the next president’s ability to expand or start programs or cut taxes. The government financial interventions of the past two weeks could cost more than $1 trillion.

Obama told NBC’s Matt Lauer on the Today show that he doesn’t expect the mortgage plan to cost the full $700 billion right away, and all the money won’t be lost.

“Does that mean that I can do everything that I’ve called for in this campaign right away?” Obama said. “Probably not. I think we’re going to have to phase it in. And a lot of it’s going to depend on what our tax revenues look like.”

Well, THAT's odd.  Just two days earlier he was saying that Obamanomics was "fully funded," despite the Democrat-created financial meltdown that had been raging for the past week.  What, did he just get the memo that $700 billion is a lot of freaking money?  And why is he giving up on it so easily?  Why doesn't he implement the Lex Luthor policy and tell the "wealthiest Americans" that he's just going to confiscate half their wealth outright, and if they balk at that, he can say, "Fine, have it your way; if you won't give me half, I'LL JUST TAKE IT ALL!!!!"

Hey, if you're not supposed to tug on Superman's cape, is it really advisable to deny god your wallet?

***False Messiah may be an empty suit, bereft of judgment, stature, morality, eloquence, a conscience, and common human decency, and painfully not ready to lead, but ya gotta hand it to him, he's a tremendous marketer.  First came his personal seal, then his way-off-Broadway/Britney Speares-ized acceptance speech, and now his own line of personalized collectible "presidential" coins:

The coins already sold to the Democrats will be presented to the senators, congressmen, governors and other politicians they are being given to within the next two weeks.

There will also be a television advertising campaign launched in the US.

The company directors got the idea of producing the coins after seeing actress Meryl Streep talking about Barack Obama on a television programme.

When they got in touch with the Democrats the party jumped at the chance. And the coins have proved such a hit that locally produced versions have already been launched to compete with the UK originals.

The coins show Senator Obama’s face, along with a picture of the White House and the legend “President of the United States of America”.

Yeah, it's creepy, as well as taking the concept of arrogant presumption to unfathomed levels.  Funny as hell, too, if Obama ends up going down in flames.  But there is some parallel to how the NFL always produces a ton of "championship" gear - t-shirts, baseball caps, etc. - for both teams in advance of the AFC and NFC Championship games and the Super Bowl.  Naturally, the memorabilia for the losing teams gets dumped as part of the cost of doing business.

Of course, the league does this, not the individual teams, and it's a business decision, not an exercise in puerile narcissism.

Should I bother mentioning that presidents don't typically end up on coins and paper currency until they're dead?  And, you know, ELECTED IN THE FIRST PLACE?

***But not to worry - The Chief Stumbling Block is still every bit the political thug he's always been:

Senator Barack Obama's presidential campaign has sent threatening letters to news agencies in Pennsylvania and Ohio to stop airing ads exposing his anti-gun record sponsored by the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF).

The kicker? NRA-PVF's Ohio’s ads have not yet begun running.

Obama Campaign Cease and Desist Letter

NRA-PVF Response Memo

NRA-PVF Response to Washington Post “fact check”

Put this in the same pile as the "post-partisan unifier"'s angry-mob attempts to smear and silence Stan Kurtz and David Freddoso for what will be, starting in January, the federal crimes of committing "sedition" against The One.

Anybody still believe a Congress that's 3-2 Donk won't heed President Hussein's clarion call to reimpose the "Fairness Doctrine" in order to remove the "stubborn obstacles to America's progress"?

***For reasons beyond human understanding (or because Team Messiah really doesn't have a better talking point on the Democrat-precipitated "Wall Street Meltdown"), the Chicago Cherubim is still peddling the risible fiction that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac "bought" John Sith McCain by hiring the firm in which Sailor's campaign manager Rick Davis holds an equity interest.

Happily, Fox News is still doing yeoman's work in heroically pounding the crap out of the Democrats who created this mess with the truth they continue to deny:

Oh, yes, and while Senator "Present" didn't "weigh in" on the legislation Senator McCain championed which might have averted the Democrat-generated financial panic, he did, to now directly quote the aforelinked J-Ger....:

tak[e] more money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac's folk than anybody else except Chris Dodd....Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae didn't have to buy access to John McCain because they had already bought [Barack Obama].

If Maverick and Messiah ever do get around to debating, I hope Barry tries this smarmy attack angle on Lord Queeg.  If ever there was a moment where blowing his stack might work in his favor, it would be then.
