Man Trap, Indeed

No, not THIS one:

....but THIS one:

Is [Sarah Palin as John Sith McCain's running mate] a gamble? Definitely. But so is Barack Obama, who has himself dismissed experience as a prerequisite for leadership, despite his spot atop the Democratic ticket.

At this point, Palin is so unknown, there’s no way to make a clear judgment about her. But listening to Obama supporters take to the airwaves to shriek with indignation about her lack of experience is just a little too rich. Where were they when Obama, two years into the Senate, announced his candidacy for president?

One Obama supporter and political operative blogged, “In picking an unknown, untested half-a-term governor from Alaska . . . John McCain is following in a long line of reckless men who have rolled the dice for a beauty queen.” …

I can’t help wondering if this is a trap. The McCain camp watched and learned as Obama supporters offended Hillary supporters by their treatment of her. The McCainiacs had to know that this group is incapable of behaving, that Palin would bring out their worst instincts. [emphasis added]

In other words, just as contemporary liberal Democrats are as racist as their Civil-War-era forebears, only in a more cynical, paternalistic fashion, so they are flaming sexists in the sense of defining womanhood along ideologically liberal lines.  Just as the Left adjudges a Clarence Thomas or Ward Connerly or J.C. Watts or Michael Steele to not be "authentically black" based not upon the color of their skin but on the content of their character (and yet worships a Messiah that is only half black himself), so a woman who doesn't toe the NOW/Emily's List/NARAL party line of permanent grievance mentality and pro-abortion/infanticide zealotry is dismissed by libs as "not really a woman" even if she has two x-chromosomes, ovaries, a vagina, a lovely pair 'o coconuts, and out-feministed even the Feminazi Popette herself.

It should come as no surprise that the same Democrats that to this day insult Justice Thomas' intelligence and root for his premature death, and lampooned former Maryland Lieutenant-Governor Steele as "Simple Sambo" are laughing off Governor Palin as a "beauty queen" (aka "bimbo") - or how about a "sweetie":

It won't, um, penetrate the ignorant hard-left programming of doctrinnaire fembots, but there are a lot of female voters who don't inhabit the Collective on whom vile anti-woman filth like this won't be lost.

Which brings us to the flashpoint of this particular subject, Senator Slow Joe Biden.  Here's a preview of what we can probably expect in the upcoming veep debate.

Governor Palin on what will doubtless be her centerpiece (and the GOP's biggest domestic) issue, energy policy:

Strong; authoritative; informed; persuasive; and, of course, spot-on correct.  These are the adjectives that come to my mind after taking in this Palin interview.  Plus she maverickally swipes President Bush ("Two oilmen in the White House!") for neglecting responsible energy policy, and the Donk ticket for obstructing it (in Senator Rogaine's case, for over thirty years).  And she speaks right to the concerns of American families who are forking over the still-high-three-dollar-range per gallon, don't see why we can't tap our own domestic energy resources, and angry that the Democrats are willing to go to any lengths to keep our oil and natural gas in the ground and the nation dangerously dependent upon enemy nations for our energy supplies.  Foreign policy savvy, anyone?

And now, Biden's rebuttal:

“From our perspective the whole deal is how does the government help you get back up without getting in the way?” Biden asked. “There’s a gigantic - gigantic — difference between John McCain and Barack Obama, and between me and I suspect my vice presidential opponent. And that is that - ”

The crowd laughed.

“Well there’s obvious differences,” Biden said, beginning to ham it up. “She’s good looking,” he said, laughing. “You know there’s obvious differences. But there’s a whole lot — ”

A woman shouted: “you’re gorgeous!” to Biden.

The first thing out of Slow Joe's big mouth was not the ideological and policy differences between McCain/Palin and Rogaine Messiah; it was, "Palin's a bimbo."  Which is evidently supposed to reverse the past five months' of Barack Obama's self-burial and discredit McCain and the entire GOP policy platform all by itself.  They can't beat the message OR the messenger, so they're going after his "good looking" adjutant's....good looks.  As though an aesthetically pleasing mein cannot be accompanied by a sharp-as-a-tack intellect.

Is that not the epitome of sexism?  And is not AP's Palin pessimism grotesquely misplaced?  This lady is going to wipe up the stage with Senator Hairplugs, if I'm any judge.

UPDATE: Why is this college pic a problem?

1) It's a college pic; (2) the caption doesn't say, "Party naked!"; and (3) it's a clever pun.

What are Dems, bitter that they haven't been able to dig up any Palin porn clips?

Perverts.
