The Best Man Is A Woman

Ann Coulter likes her.

John McCain's choice of Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska, as his running mate finally gave Republicans a reason to vote for him - a reason, that is, other than B. Hussein Obama.

This seems to be a recurring theme among many Republicans...those of us who were going to hold our nose and vote for McCain, can now do it with some enthusiasm. I've also read in several blogs people talking about how they were going to sit this one out, but will now vote for McCain. Obviously, he made the right choice. Especially when you see the handwringing going on by the likes of those in the media.

They claimed Palin was chosen only because she's a woman. In fact, Palin was chosen because she's pro-life, pro-gun, pro-drilling and pro-tax cuts. She's fought both Republicans and Democrats on public corruption and does not have hair plugs like some other vice presidential candidate I could mention. In other words, she's a "Republican."

As a right-winger, Palin will appeal to the narrow 59% of Americans who voted for another former small-market sportscaster: Ronald Reagan. Our motto: Sarah Palin is only a heartbeat away!

Some of the stuff these people are saying is just really over the top. Apparently, if you place any confidence in the polls, it's backfiring on them.

The Chosen Man-Child is a little miffed, too. Check this out:

Barack Obama ripped into John McCain and Sarah Palin as never before Monday, accusing his Republican White House foes of "shameless" dishonesty with their claim to be "mavericks" ready to shake up Washington.

McCain and Palin were "lying about their records," the Obama campaign said after the Republican running mates advertised themselves in a television spot as the "original mavericks" who would stand up for hard-pressed voters.

He noted that Palin had originally supported an infamous "Bridge to Nowhere" project in Alaska, and had hired a Washington lobbyist to secure millions of dollars in federal funding for the small town of which she was mayor.

"When John McCain gets up there with Sarah Palin and says 'we're for change'... you've got to ask yourselves, what are they talking about, how do they have the nerve to say it?" the Democrat added.

"It's empty words. You're just saying it because you realize, gosh, Obama's been talking about change and it seems to be working, so maybe we should say it too," he added to mocking laughter from a crowd of 1,500.

Back up a little bit there, Barry:

Conservative bloggers point out that in their campaign against Senator Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, Alaska Democrats gave credit to Governor Palin for helping to kill the Bridge to Nowhere.

“Governor Sarah Palin said the $398 million bridge was $329 million short of full funding, and only $36 million in federal funds were set aside for it," the Democrats say. "She said it was clear Congress had little interest in spending any more money for it and that the state had higher priorities."

On another page the Dems say, “Governor Palin recently cancelled the Gravina Island Bridge near Ketchikan that would have connected the Alaska mainland with Gravina Island (population: 50)."

You wanna talk about "shameless," Obama? What about your party's attack on Palin's family, and the vicious lies told there? Better clean your own house, dude, before you start throwing stones. And you're certainly one to talk about "empty words." Sheesh.
