What Thugs These "Activists" Be

Have you heard about the tolerant, peace-loving, can't-we-all-just-get-along leftists protesting in Minneapolis? These idiots should be aggressively prosecuted.

It would also be nice if there were some media coverage, but I guess that's a pipe dream. Throwing sandbags at delegates' cars? If the Enemy Media did its job, it would point out that Republicans don't do this. It's the Democrats, with all their talk of bipartisanship and change, who resort to Gestapo-like tactics in order to intimidate and silence their opposition.

I have a feeling it's just going to get uglier, because they apparently fear no reprisal, and for good reason. The media is on their side.

Oh, but that's not the punchline:

Aided by informants planted in protest groups, authorities raided at least six buildings across St. Paul and Minneapolis to stop an anarchist plan to disrupt this week’s Republican National Convention.

From Friday night through Saturday afternoon, officers surrounded houses, broke down doors, handcuffed scores of people and confiscated suspected tools of civil disobedience.

The show of force was led by the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with the FBI, Minneapolis and St. Paul police, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies.

But a St. Paul City Council member described it as excessive, while "activists," many of whom were detained and then released without charges, called it intimidation designed to quash free speech. [emphases added]

Well, golly, I'm sure there must be something about stabbing, burning, shooting, bludgeoning, and pissing on your political opponents written into the First Amendment somewhere, right...?

UPDATE: Don't forget bleaching delegates and terrorizing a bus full of, not Boy, but Cub Scouts:

A busload of Cub Scouts were en route to the convention, where they were to present the colors to open the convention. A group of protesters—liberals, Obama supporters, or whatever—blocked the road, surrounded the bus, and attacked it, rocking the bus back and forth, denting and scratching the sides, and generally terrifying the children trapped inside.

Ah, isn't twenty-first century democracy as practiced by "Democrats" truly an inspiration?
