Red Barry's Storm Troopers?

Still think Barack Obama is just another harmless, fopping Donk political hack who can't do unimaginable damage to America's political and civic body politic?  Our own military doesn't, judging from this story:

A new report from the U.S. Army War College discusses the use of American troops to quell civil unrest brought about by a worsening economic crisis.

The report from the War College’s Strategic Studies Institute warns that the U.S. military must prepare for a “violent, strategic dislocation inside the United States” that could be provoked by “unforeseen economic collapse” or “loss of functioning political and legal order.”

Entitled “Known Unknowns: Unconventional ‘Strategic Shocks’ in Defense Strategy Development,” the report was produced by Nathan Freier, a recently retired Army lieutenant colonel who is a professor at the college — the Army’s main training institute for prospective senior officers.

He writes: “To the extent events like this involve organized violence against local, state, and national authorities and exceed the capacity of the former two to restore public order and protect vulnerable populations, DoD [Department of Defense] would be required to fill the gap.”

Freier continues: “Widespread civil violence inside the United States would force the defense establishment to reorient priorities in extremis to defend basic domestic order … An American government and defense establishment lulled into complacency by a long-secure domestic order would be forced to rapidly divest some or most external security commitments in order to address rapidly expanding human insecurity at home.”...

Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma and Representative Brad Sherman of California disclosed that Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson discussed a worst-case scenario as he pushed the Wall Street bailout in September, and said that scenario might even require a declaration of martial law.

The Army College report states: “DoD might be forced by circumstances to put its broad resources at the disposal of civil authorities to contain and reverse violent threats to domestic tranquility. Under the most extreme circumstances, this might include use of military force against hostile groups inside the United States.

“Further, DoD would be, by necessity, an essential enabling hub for the continuity of political authority in a multi-state or nationwide civil conflict or disturbance.”

He concludes this section of the report by observing: “DoD is already challenged by stabilization abroad. Imagine the challenges associated with doing so on a massive scale at home."

Remember a few weeks ago when the corrupt president-elect's corrupt Brown House chief of staff-designate Raum Emanuel quipped that the economic crisis ignited by the detonation of the Democrat Financial Logic Bomb provided his boss with an "opportunity" to do things and implement "change" that wouldn't have been possible under ordinary circumstances?  D'ya think that might not be limited to just Marxism, but the imposition of Leninism as well?  If the 130-year-old Posse Comitatus Act is illegally (or, given the size of the Donk majorities in Congress, legally) abrogated by President Hussein, what would prevent Red Barry from setting up a police state?  It would sure explain why he wants to withdraw American forces pretty much entirely within our borders.

And if you need any additional context, let former CENTCOM commander General Tommy Franks (ret.) lay it on you:

[Franks] said in a 2003 interview that if the U.S. is attacked with a weapon of mass destruction, the Constitution will likely be discarded in favor of a military form of government.

And whaddaya know, B.O. wants to quit the War on Terror just as the Iranian mullahgarchy is building a burgeoning arsenal of nuclear weapons and the bioterror threat threatens to explode over the next five years driven by instabilities in the Middle East and Africa that will only be fueled by the mass American retreat he intends to order.

I recall reading a Cold War thriller novel entitled Oval Red many years ago (I think that was the title; I couldn't find it either on Amazon or Google, so maybe not).  The gist of the plot was that a Soviet deep cover agent was sent to the United States as a young man, thoroughly Americanized and groomed for a career in politics.  His objective was as audacious as it was simple: get himself elected president of the United States, after which he would effectively surrender America unconditionally to the Soviet Union.

The plan doesn't quite work out.  The agent (running as a Democrat, naturally) falls short of the nomination, but gets picked to be the winner's running mate.  The Donk ticket wins in November, after which the new president conveniently drops dead of "heart failure".  His red successor assumes office and promptly starts dismantling all of America's strategic national defenses and withdrawing American troops from every region of the world.  A little too promptly, as it turns out, as a CIA agent figures out the plot and ends up assassinating him, leaving HIS veep to take over and try and restore the Cold War status quo ante.

I find myself thinking about that novel more and more as we draw closer and closer to Red Barry's inauguration.  Not that he's any kind of foreign agent or "Manchurian" candidate; Barack Obama is a homegrown Marxist, but appears to share most, even all, of the same strategic objectives of destroying America as a global economic and military power.

But if he proves to be Leninist as well, the American military, wittingly or unwittingly, is constructing the institutional tools to not only communize the land of the unfree and home of the cowed, but Sovietize it as well.
