You Can't Make This Stuff Up

What is happening in this country? You know, I knew politics were corrupt, but sometimes my goat still gets got.

Ah, the Chicago way.

So: Governor Blago appoints Obama AG nominee Eric Holder to investigate corruption. Holder receives $300,000 for his legal services. Corruption probe finds no wrongdoing.

Is it just me, or does something seem funny about this? (Rhetorical question)

Where is the press's curiosity about the scumbags Obama is surrounding himself with? Oh wait, I guess the press would be part of said bag.

Remember, though, that the primary reason why the public didn't care about all of Sick Willie's scandals and moral/political/financial corruption was because the Republican Congress was overseeing the economy for him and keeping it booming on his unwanted behalf. The popping of the dot-com bubble in early 2000 sent the economy reeling toward recession and opened the door for George W. Bush taking down Mr. Bill's veep and designated successor, just as the 1994 GOP congressional triumph brought critical succor to the economy and laid the foundation for Clinton's 1996 re-election.

Nobody will care about these Blago shenanigans and Red Barry being armpit-deep in them for at least the next year (or sooner of Joe Biden's predicted foreign crises strike sooner) because of the usual new-president honeymoon period and that dynamic's obscene amplification by the Obamedia. Which is probably a lot of why it's being allowed to surface now, when it will do Lucifer the least damage.

But when the economy is as bad or worse a year from now - and with the Democrats in total power, it cannot help but be - and the inevitable Islamist terrorist maelstrom descending upon the country after Obama shuts down the War on Terror, methinks that all the media's horses and all the media's men won't be able to put "hopeandchange" back together again.

Because he won't have an answer for any of it. Hell, he doesn't have an answer for the Blago stuff now. Wait 'till he has to answer for making the recession worse and driving energy costs into the stratosphere and his rolling brownouts causing Americans to freeze to death next winter and regular terrorist attacks blasting and gassing chunks out of our cities.

The '90s were only a "holiday from history" because Ronald Reagan won the Cold War and Republicans stopped the Clinton lurch to the left. Red Barry will enjoy no such vacation from reality, no matter how furiously the press wanks him. It's just a matter of time.
