...and I use those last two words loosely. Charles Rangel used the event honoring a slain police officer to make a couple of sick jokes:
There's nothing like a tragic police shooting to bring a tasteless guffaw out of Representative Charlie Rangel.
Speaking yesterday at a rally in honor of slain cop Omar Edwards - gunned down by a fellow cop in a case of mistaken identity - the embattled congressman outrageously quipped that President Obama, in town for a date with First Lady Michelle, should watch his back walking around the Big Apple because he is black.
"Make certain he doesn't run around East Harlem unidentified," the controversial lawmaker snarked.
"If [he] did not have the Secret Service . . . around him, [city cops] wouldn't know if he was president of the United States."
It is truly amazing and dismaying the slugs we as a people have representing us in positions of honor.
JASmius adds: Positions of honor? I thought we were talking about Congress....
The evidence is clear that our Founding Fathers built our nation on biblical principles.
In fact, I've written a book about it that I would like to send you.

That's not what our Founding Fathers intended by separation of church and state.

The evidence that our Founding Fathers built America on Judeo-Christian principles is written on nearly every building, memorial and monument in our Nation's Capital.
In my search for proof, I found biblical scripture engraved on some of the most important buildings in Washington, D.C.
For example, did you know that:
- "The heavens declare the glory of God" (Psalm 19:1) is engraved on a wall of the Library of Congress.
- A sculpture of Moses with the Ten Commandments appears over the east portico of the Supreme Court.
- "Holiness to the Lord" is engraved into a tribute block of the Washington Monument.
- And a heartfelt prayer from President John Adams is carved into the stone fireplace in the White House State Dining Room: "I pray to heaven to bestow the best of blessings on this house and all that hereafter inhabit it."
Tourists visiting Washington, D.C. see them every day.
Yet Barack Obama lives in the White House... and pretends they aren't there.
In fact, buried inside Obama's trillion-dollar stimulus package is anti-Christian legislation that will stop churches from using public schools for meeting on Sundays, as well as Boy Scouts and student Bible study groups.
Perhaps someone should remind Barack Obama that members of Congress used to hold church services -- right in the U.S. Capitol building!

Well, given the tepid Republican response to most of your crazyness so far, I'd say you're in pretty good shape there, Comrade.
JASmius adds: I'm sorry to have to say this, but expecting Republicans to mount a filibuster against Judge Sotomayor would be roaring hypocrisy as well. Even the Dems didn't go that far against Chief Justice Roberts or Justice Alito, not out of any respect for the Constitution but because it would have been a political liability for them.
It's academic in any case. Republicans don't have it in them to try and filibuster a judicial nomination under any circumstances, and even if they did, with Al Franken cheating his way to victory in Minnesota and Snarlin' Arlen Specter having jumped, the Dems have a filibuster-proof Senate majority now anyway.
It's as I said yesterday on Hard Starboard Radio: Sonja Sotomayor is a sexist, a racist, a Marxist, and a judicial supremacist. She belongs atop Olympus the way Rosie O'Donnell belongs on the centerfold of Maxim magazine. But if we want to keep sexists, racists, Marxists, and judicial supremacists off the federal bench, we've got to stop electing them to Congress and the White House. Otherwise we'll keep reaping what we sew.

Evidence appears to be mounting that the Obama administration has systematically targeted for closing Chrysler dealers who contributed to Repubicans. What started earlier this week as mainly a rumbling on the Right side of the Blogosphere has gathered some steam today with revelations that among the dealers being shut down are a GOP congressman and closing of competitors to a dealership chain partly owned by former Clinton White House chief of staff Mack McLarty.
The basic issue raised here is this: How do we account for the fact millions of dollars were contributed to GOP candidates by Chrysler who are being closed by the government, but only one has been found so far that is being closed that contributed to the Obama campaign in 2008?
Florida Rep. Vern Buchanan learned from a House colleague that his Venice, Florida, dealership is on the hit list. Buchanan also has a Nissan franchise paired with the Chrysler facility in Venice.
"It's an outrage. It's not about me. I'm going to be fine," said Buchanan, the dealership's majority owner. "You're talking over 100,000 jobs. We're supposed to be in the business of creating jobs, not killing jobs," Buchanan told News 10, a local Florida television station.
Buchanan, who succeeded former Rep. Katharine Harris in 2006, reportedly learned of his dealership's termination from Rep.Candace Miller, R-MI. Buchanan owns a total of 23 dealerships in Florida and North Carolina.
Also fueling the controversy is the fact the RLJ-McCarty-Landers chain of Arkansas and Missouri dealerships aren't being closed, but many of their local competitors are being eliminated. Go here for a detailed look at this situation. McClarty is the former Clinton senior aide. The "J" is Robert Johnson, founder of the Black Entertainment Television, a heavy Democratic contributor.
A lawyer representing a group of Chrysler dealers who are on the hit list deposed senior Chrysler executives and later told Reuters that he believes the closings have been forced on the company by the White House.
"It became clear to us that Chrysler does not see the wisdom of terminating 25 percent of its dealers. It really wasn't Chrysler's decision. They are under enormous pressure from the President's automotive task force," said attorney Leonard Bellavia.

As part of Chrysler's bankruptcy agreement with the White House, the company plans to close roughly a quarter of its 3,200 dealerships. Lists of the dealerships being cut and those retaining their Chrysler franchises can be found here in pdf format. Many dealers contend the criteria being used to determine which dealerships survive is not clear and that many of those that are being closed in fact are profitable businesses, despite the current recession.
Wow. It's hard to believe the rapid damage being done to this country by our current jerk of a president. I knew he was going to be bad, but he is surpassing my expectations. His choice of Sonya Sotomayor just solidifies what we already know...that Obama is a hard left, grasping opportunist who is hell-bent on remaking this country into a socialist "utopia." This whole situation just makes me sick, and I'm extremely pissed at the ignorant people who voted for Obama because they thought it would be exciting to have a black man in the White House. Exciting isn't *exactly* the word I'm thinking right now...

Across our nation, some people who were willing to take Barack Obama at his word when he campaigned as a reasonable, moderate candidate are coming to realize the unfortunate truth. Candidate Obama talked about fiscal responsibility, about government living within its means. But President Obama will have to raise taxes to pay for his massive top-down government explosion. Candidate Obama talked a lot about being bipartisan, but he has yielded his legislative agenda almost entirely to Nancy Pelosi who has repeatedly shut Republicans out of negotiations on important legislation, from economic stimulus to the budget to health care. During a 2005 panel discussion at the Duke University Law School, Sotomayor stated that the "Court of Appeals is where policy is made." With all due respect, the American public wants judges who interpret the law and do not act as life-tenured, judicially empowered social engineers. President Obama promised us a jurist committed to the "rule of law," not a legislator with a lifetime appointment to remake public policy. GULF OF ADEN - The USS Lake Champlain responded to a vessel in distress in the Gulf of Aden May 23, rescuing 52 men women and children.Hi all! I'm back from my daughter's out-of-town wedding. It was absolutely beautiful! She had an outdoor wedding...took a BIG chance in this part of the country where the weather is so unpredictable, but we couldn't have ordered a more beautiful day. They are so silly in love and happy!
It was nice staying away from the computer for a couple of days...staying away from the Washington madness and so many things that make me angry when I read about them. I want to focus for at least one more day on the good things, then get down and dirty again with the political crap that's going on right now.

The Department of Homeland Security Strikes Again
The bumper sticker is based on the famous flag designed by American Revolution era general and statesman Christopher Gadsden. The yellow flag featured a coiled diamondback rattlesnake ready to strike, with the slogan “Don’t Tread on Me!” underneath it. Benjamin Franklin helped make the rattlesnake a symbol of Americans’ reluctance to quarrel but vigilance and resolve in defense of their rights. By 1775 when Gadsden presented his flag to the commander-in-chief of the Navy, the rattlesnake was a symbol of the colonies and of their need to unite in defense of threats to their God-given and inherited rights. The flag and the bumper sticker symbolize American patriotism, the need to defend Americans’ rights, and resistance to tyranny’s threats to American liberty. Those threats included—and include—illegal taxation, profanation of Americans’ rights, and violation of the fundamental principles of American law.
The notorious Department of Homeland Security memo, which was apparently based on the infamous Missouri State Police Report that described supporters of presidential candidates Bob Barr, Ron Paul, and Chuck Baldwin as “militia”-type potential extremists and potential terrorists, is not the first effort of leftist radicals to slander their political opponents as “extremists.” Some observers have noted that similar “reports” emerged during the Clinton administration. But “liberals” and other leftists have been calling defenders of traditional American limited, constitutional government, free enterprise, and individual liberty “extremists” since at least the 1964 election. The political left’s attempts to establish a false equivalence between genuine left wing extremists and those who oppose the left’s assault on our culture, law, and liberty is more than propaganda to fool the ignorant and manipulate public opinion. Combined with the power of government, it is an attempt to harass, intimidate, and silence all political opposition—and probably an attempt to demonize them as a prelude to governmental oppression and persecution. Keep in mind that the First Amendment states,

It's not going to happen voluntarily, of course. That would require integrity, and Nancy Pelosi has none. Newt Gingrich lays out the case against her nicely in this piece at Human Events. There really is no doubt that she's lying, other than in the fevered minds of the psychotic leftist Bush-haters. People who actually think, though, can see right through her feverish attempts at self-preservation.
If Nancy Pelosi believed that waterboarding was justified in 2002 -- just like Porter Goss, President Bush, Vice President Cheney and CIA Director Tenet -- then a policy of selectively using enhanced interrogation techniques in carefully circumscribed ways in order to prevent future attacks -- in other words, the Bush Administration policy -- is vindicated.
But rather than admit that President Bush, when faced with an array of difficult choices, made the hard choice that kept the nation safe, Nancy Pelosi has instead retreated into the cheap sanctity of ignorance. She didn’t know, so she claims. That’s why she didn’t do anything about it.
But President Bush did know. It was his job to know, and he made the tough choices needed to save American lives.
It was Nancy Pelosi’s job to know too. But to avoid culpability for the choices she supported, she’s now telling us she didn’t know. And she’s calling the intelligence officials who say otherwise liars and criminals.
Shame on her.
Shame, indeed. Would that the Democrats were capable of that emotion. In their lust for power, they have put this country and her military personnel in danger, trying at all costs to secure our defeat during the tenure of George W. Bush. They have declared America wrong, they have accused our men and women in uniform of ghastly acts which were just not true, and they have lied repeatedly about the motives and actions of their Commander-in-Chief. Now that they are back in power, they continue their charade. They pretend to be public servants while doing everything they can to grasp as much power over Americans as possible, individual liberty be damned. Their standard bearer is a socialist and is jerking this country to the left at a dizzying pace, with the blessing of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. Neither is fit for their office. Pelosi, at the very least, has proven her incompetence and has lied to the American people. She needs to go.

Okay, Joe Biden is more than just a joke now. He's a national liability.
According to a report, while recently attending the Gridiron Club dinner in Washington, an annual event where powerful politicians and media elite get a chance to cozy up to one another, Biden told his dinnermates about the existence of a secret bunker under the old U.S. Naval Observatory, which is now the home of the vice president.
The bunker is believed to be the secure, undisclosed location former Vice President Dick Cheney remained under protection in secret after the 9/11 attacks.
Does this idiot have no control over his mouth whatsoever? Michelle Malkin has been keeping track of Biden's gaffes, and the list is getting quite long. It's one thing to tell a paralyzed man to stand up, it's quite another to casually divulge secret information. Guess how much play this will get from the Obamedia?
Well, I've been trying to post for a couple of days now, and my decrepit computer just will not cooperate. Here's hoping I can get this one uploaded.
So, whaddya think of our esteemed Speaker of the House? Third in line for the Presidency, this position should be occupied by a person of integrity and character. What do we have? There are a lot of adjectives and nouns which would describe Nancy Pelosi, and none are good. Reading at CNN's web site (I know, self-torture), the comments regarding the story of her blatant lying are revealing. I think the majority get it, but there are still the steadfast Bush-haters who defend her and blame it all on Bush and Cheney and their "war crimes." There is even one calling for death by hanging for Bush and Cheney, and he wasn't kidding. Nothing you can do with those people, you can't fix stupid. However, I think there are a few turning the corner and getting their eyes opened. Not enough yet by a longshot; Obama's hold on his kook base is nearly impenetrable. Still, there is hope. There are people fighting back and making their voices heard regarding this socialist we have elected to our highest office, and his minions like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. Whether or not we can stop this tsunami before it destroys our Republic remains to be seen.

An out-of-control supreme court has forced same-sex marriage on Iowa and an out-of-touch legislature has done the same in Vermont. States like New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Maine are in the fight of their lives to uphold marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Understand this: these fights are about much more than these states alone. There is a concerted effort to use passage of same-sex marriage in these states to force it on every other state in the union. How? Through the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act! With one stroke of the pen, President Obama could sign into law a bill that allows judges in one state to impose gay marriage on 47 other states. Yes, powerful leaders in the White House and Congress are taking aim at the one federal law that protects marriage and other values we hold sacred. But fortunately, the National Organization for Marriage has already prepared a DOMA Defense Fund to mobilize the American people and tell Congress: "Enough, Don't Mess with Marriage!" I was in the Senate chamber on that historic day back in 1996 when an overwhelming majority of Senators and Congressmen came together to pass the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which is the ONLY federal law that protects marriage as the union of husband and wife. DOMA makes sure that four judges based in Boston or San Francisco cannot impose gay marriage on the rest of us. It also makes sure that taxpayers like you and me cannot be forced by judges or gay marriage activists to subsidize same-sex unions as if they were just the same as traditional marriages. As I sat in the Senate that day I can remember what an extraordinary moment it was: How proud you and I could be of the way Americans of every party and creed came together to protect our common sense understanding of marriage. Even Bill Clinton signed DOMA into law -- that's how broad and powerful the bipartisan consensus for marriage is. This was a high moment in our history, an instance of real bipartisanship, real unity, a real shining moment of patriots rising above factionalism in the national interest to protect our shared values. In passing DOMA, Republicans and Democrats came together to make sure marriage remains one man and one woman. Not in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine a day when a handful of special interests would try to take that great moment away -- a day when special interests threaten to prove more powerful and influential than the great, vast voice of the American people on marriage. But my friends, that is where we are today. This is the day that God has made for us to stand up for traditional marriage once again, backed up by reason, history and common sense. Marriage is a sacred union of male and female. Marriage is a unique status and a shared social ideal; it's the precious and irreplaceable way we teach the next generation that men and women need each other and that children have a right to both a mother and a father. Marriage should never be turned into a politicized plaything that powerful politicians misuse to placate their clamorous partisan bases. Not while you and I have a breath left in our bodies, right? Last November, the American people yet again voted to protect marriage in California, Arizona and Florida, bringing to 30 the number of states where the people have voted to protect marriage. On 30 out of 30 occasions, everywhere from Alabama to Wisconsin, from Oregon to Virginia, the American people have demonstrated OUR commitment to marriage. This fall, the voice of the people surprised the pundits and reaffirmed a core truth: When it comes to marriage there are no blue states, red states or purple states. On marriage, Americans speak with one voice, in rare unity of purpose. Americans do not want activist judges or arrogant politicians changing the meaning of marriage for us -- or worse, imposing a twisted politicized idea of marriage on our children and grandchildren. "Leave it to the states" was the slogan we heard over and over again from gay marriage activists when Congress was debating the Federal Marriage Amendment in 2004. Yet today these same activists want to force every single state to recognize the same-sex marriages that have been forced on the country by one-judge majorities in Massachusetts and Connecticut. They are backed by billionaires who want to use their money to change the face of politics -- to impose their values on the rest of us. That's right, while we are tending to our jobs, going to church, and raising our families, a handful of wealthy gay men are plotting ways to use their giant fortunes to reshape the entire American political landscape in their own image. Sound a little hard to believe? I thought so too, until I read the March 1, 2007 Atlantic Monthly article that documents the detailed plans and huge influence these men are having, led by one gay billionaire activist named Tim Gill. The article is called "They Won't Know What Hit Them," and the subtitle pretty much says it all: "Tim Gill has a mission: stop the Rick Santorums of tomorrow before they get started. How a network of gay political donors is stealthily . . . reshaping American politics." That grabbed my attention, how about yours? In the 2006 election cycle, Gill pumped $15 million into defeating the good guys. According to the Atlantic Monthly, he succeeded seventy percent of the time. We don't have tens of millions of dollars from a handful of billionaires funding our efforts. This time, it's up to us. Think about the success of the gay marriage movement. If two percent of the population funded by a handful of rich men can work a revolution in culture, what could sixty percent of the population do with the right tools and strategy? We can take Gill's strategy and flip it against him. We can use it to protect marriage by creating the real possibility of political risk, the risk that politicians SHOULD feel when they vote against their own constituents' voices and values. Will you join me in making a donation to support the National Organization for Marriage 2009 DOMA Defense Fund, making sure that we protect every state's right to protect marriage as the union of a husband and wife? NOM has turned the tables on the radical same-sex marriage lobby before. They have a proven track record of success in even the most liberal environments. Here's what one radical gay marriage group wrote about NOM's key role in allowing the people of California to vote to protect marriage: "Due to its sizeable early financial support . . . . NOM is chiefly responsible for the qualification of Proposition 8." What happened next as a result of NOM's foresight? A HUGE, totally unpredicted victory for marriage: California passed Proposition 8. Arizona and Florida followed suit, passing their own state marriage amendments, giving us a trifecta in the battle to protect marriage in 2008. In helping pass Proposition 8, NOM did what many said was impossible. In the deepest of blue states it proved that with the right resources and message, traditional marriage will win out every time against out-of-control judges and out-of-touch politicians. You and I and millions of other Americans know that we don't want courts telling us our views of marriage are just old-fashioned bigotry. We don't want public schools teaching our own children and grandchildren that our view of marriage is outdated hatred. We want and expect respect for marriage as an ideal because the ideal for children is a mother and a father united by the bonds of matrimony. Protecting children requires protecting marriage and its meaning from politicization and judicial deformation. Some things are just too important to leave up to politicians and special interests. Now is the time. One of President Obama's first acts was to announce the goal of repealing DOMA. He was bold enough to even highlight his plans for DOMA on the White House website: "Obama also believes we need to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and enact legislation that would ensure that the 1,100+ federal legal rights and benefits currently provided on the basis of marital status are extended to same-sex couples in civil unions and other legally-recognized unions." Yes, that's right. Don't let the media fool you. Powerful politicians in Washington are pushing an aggressive, radical, and divisive new culture war on the American people. "Whether you like it or not," as San Francisco's Mayor Gavin Newsom put it when he announced plans to push gay marriage down the throat of all Californians. If we don't act today, President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and others in Congress will succeed in making the repeal of DOMA one of their most important "civil rights" priorities for 2009. With your help we will bring our voice and our values to Washington D.C. to defend marriage from the politicians and the special interests that seek to politicize our most precious institution for protecting children. Will you help us today? The White House web announcement was overlooked by some, because instead of being located under the "Family" heading, sabotaging DOMA was placed under the heading of one of the White House's highest "Civil Rights" priorities. Huh? Same-sex marriage is a "civil right"? Says who? Even most courts and the overwhelming majority of Americans have rejected that view. And just a few months ago, 70 percent of African Americans voted to protect marriage as one man and one woman in California. Americans of every race, creed and color are coming together to protect marriage. So why are Washington politicians taking aim at the one federal law that protects this common sense public definition of marriage? Because the hard-left base of the party is trying to persuade President Obama and Congress to do something that is bad policy and bad politics: bad for the country, bad for this Administration, bad for children, decency and common sense, bad for faith communities of all colors and creeds. They know the American people are not with them on this issue, but they are counting on apathy and silence to let them ram through their unpopular policies on a country distracted by our severe economic crisis. Well they don't know what people like you and me are willing to do to defend our values, do they? Thanks to the National Organization for Marriage, you and I have a plan to fight back. Activists are trying right now to persuade Congress that repealing DOMA is a win/win for them -- they can please a vocal minority of gay marriage activists and the rest of the country really won't care. They are wrong -- Americans do care about marriage. But Congress won't know it unless we tell them! Together you and I can make it crystal clear to the powerful misguided politicians in Washington: Don't sabotage DOMA, the one federal law protecting U.S. taxpayers from being forced by judges to treat same-sex unions as marriages. Don't let Washington politicians push such a divisive and intrusive issue against the will of the majority of the American people. What's at stake in this marriage debate? Common sense, common decency and the common good. The welfare of children, who get enough confusing distorted messages without our own government targeting marriage for redefinition. Here's one other thing you may not know about: Protecting marriage protects the religious liberty of all traditional faith communities. Why? Well, as judges and politicians push a radical redefinition of basic American values, they are beginning to use the power of government to order religious people and organizations -- charities, schools, and even churches -- to treat same-sex unions as marriages.
We've just gotten word: another Catholic Charities in Massachusetts is the latest sad victim of this ideological and political effort to use the power of government to impose new values on you and me. Catholic Charities in Worcester is being penalized by the state government. And in this case the true victims are the thousands of innocent children who are being denied this Christian adoption agency's loving help in finding good homes -- because this religious charity will not place children with same-sex couples. Other agencies will and do, but the government of Massachusetts, thanks to same-sex marriage, is increasingly committed to excluding traditional Christians (and people of other traditional faiths) from the public square. Pray for the children and for a change of heart! "I firmly believe that the revocation occurred because we were providing our adoption services in harmony with Catholic teaching," Ms. [Catherine] Loeffler said. "The Commonwealth of Massachusetts previously denied Massachusetts Catholic Charities a religious exemption to carry out our work according to our religious beliefs and then revoked our contracts." "I urge you to speak up," she said at the annual meeting of Catholic Charities. "Let's consider restoring hope for children." It's a powerful message: Restore hope for children. For it's always the most helpless innocents who suffer when adults put their politicized rights agenda first, isn't it? National Review Online is my home page...whenever I get online, that's what pops up first. Reading this morning's headlines, it's difficult to understand how any thinking American can support this president. Then I realize...most Americans aren't getting this information. Most Americans are getting their news from the Obama sycophants in the press and TV media. That's why when I try to talk to someone about what's going on with this administration, I get a blank stare. Sure, there are a lot of people on the internet, getting their news from blogs, etc....but when those blogs include MoveOn.org and Salon.com, the information is tainted, and in most cases, downright wrong. Sometimes I get encouraged when I read various conservative blogs and think, yeah, people are starting to get it. THEN, I go out and listen in the real world, outside of our conservative microcosm, and see there is still a lot of work to be done. This is not to say we should give up, this is just to say we need to work harder and smarter.
Go ahead, check out NRO today. You will see what you already know, that our president is a pure socialist who is out to change this country and jerk it as far to the left as he can. Hopefully it will piss you off enough to do something, anything, to prevent as much damage as possible.

JASmius adds: Since it's common knowledge by now that a big part of the Obama health care rationing (or what they call "cost control") scheme is cutting off access to high-tech treatments and medications, can it not be fairly said that under Red Barry-care, the Democrats will be, as it were, throwing the old and the sick out in the street to die?
I still have a friend of mine and my very own father alive today thanks to those high-tech treatments and medications. B.O. and the Dems would have put them in the grave. Do I really need to elaborate my thoughts and feelings on this issue any further?

And, the Judge further ruled that such a challenge could only be made on the 6th day of January following the meeting of the Presidential electors, at the session of Congress where the vote of the Electoral College is counted and the results announced. To use the Judge's words, this is "the exclusive means for challenges to the qualifications of President..." That means that no one, except a Member of Congress, and only on one certain day of the year following the Presidential election, can challenge the qualifications of the President. And then, the challenge can only be successful if a majority of the Members of Congress support the challenge! And that means that the requirements of the U. S. Constitution as to the eligibility of the man or woman who runs for President to serve as President are meaningless! Do you believe that the Constitution is a meaningless document? Do you believe that a majority of the Members of Congress have the right to ignore it? To render it of no force and effect? The Trial Court Judge in our case did! But we are not going to accept his decision. We are not going to accept the legal arguments made by Barack Hussein Obama's attorneys, and those by liberal California Attorney General Jerry Brown. Personally, I think the possibility that Barack Obama may be foreign-born makes his brain-dead zombie worshippers love him all the more. One of the reasons they hated George W. Bush so rabidly, I think, is precisely because Dubya was so quintessentially American. Ditto Newt Gingrich and especially Ronald Reagan before him. In their philosophical, ideological hearts of hearts, liberals are not Americans, but "citizens of the world" - more specifically, citizens of the REST of the world AGAINST the United States. They're embarrassed by and ashamed of their country as it has been and want to erase its exceptionalism by eradicating everything that has ever set America apart as the moral, political, economic, and military leader and power of the planet.
That's why Barack Obama is, quite literally, their messiah. He's the personification of every hope and dream of, and promise to, the American Left in much the same way that the True Messiah is for those of us no longer lost in our sins. In their minds he's come to save America from Jesus Christ and His followers, to recapture it for the "Dreams of his father" - and I ain't talking about the Kenyan bigamist.
How more appropriate could it be, then, that Red Barry not be "a real, live nephew of his Uncle Sam" - or any other "blood" relation?

Did anyone *really* doubt it? I knew Nancy Pelosi was a dishonest, unprincipled, powermongering slug, but her blatant lies about waterboarding and other "enhanced" interrogation techniques is beyond the pale:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi insisted Friday that she was briefed only once about the “enhanced” interrogation techniques being used on terrorism suspects and that she was assured by lawyers with the CIA and the Department of Justice that the methods were legal.
Pelosi issued a statement after CIA records released this week showed that Pelosi was briefed in September 2002 on the interrogation methods. The briefings memo appeared to contradict the speaker’s claims that she was never told that waterboarding or other enhanced interrogation methods were being used.
Not surprising, no, but it just amazes me how easily lies slip out of the mouths of Democrats without a blink...and continue even AFTER they're caught in the lies. I guess it makes it easier knowing that the mainstream media won't hold you accountable. It always amazed me how Bill Clinton could brazenly lie and have the press and his followers continue to fall all over themselves for him. Barack Obama is certainly reveling in the Messiah phenomenon unlike any other. If you have a "D" after your name, you can pretty much do whatever you like in the current "journalistic" climate, and fear no repercussions. Hey, it's hard for the American people to get mad at you if they're not informed about what you're doing. Thank goodness for the Internet, talk radio, and Fox News. No wonder the Democrats want to tax the first, silence the second, and demonize the third.
Here's hoping that enough people wake up to right the wrongs we've elected before it's too late.

First time I saw him, he was giggling, high as a kite, wanting me to tell him what his PO box number was because he couldn't remember, and wasn't coordinated enough to stick his key in the keyhole anyway. He doesn't work...where he gets his drug money, I don't know. I guess Obama's gonna help him out with that.

President Barack Obama’s Department of Education sat on a report chronicling the success of a school vouchers program until after Congress had voted not to continue the program.
That’s the report from Deroy Murdock, a media fellow with the Hoover Institution, who exposes the subterfuge in an article published by National Review Online.
The D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program allows 1,714 children — 90% of them black and 9% Hispanic — to receive up to $7,500 to attend a private or parochial school instead of a public school in the District of Columbia, which is widely believed to have one of the nation’s most troubled school districts.
Since the program’s launch in 2004, 7,852 students have applied for these grants, and participants have been chosen by lottery.
Obama — who said last year that “you do what works for the kids” — did not intervene as Congress scheduled the program’s end after the 2009-2010 academic year.
“Now it emerges that Obama’s Department of Education possessed peer-reviewed, congressionally mandated, federally financed research proving this program’s success,” Murdock writes.
“Though it demonstrates ‘what works for the kids,’ DOE hid this study until Congress squelched these children’s dreams.”
An amendment in the Senate to rescue the vouchers program failed on March 10 by a vote of 58-39. The DOE finally released the report on April 3. Even then, DOE researchers were reportedly barred from discussing their findings.
“You’d think we were talking about nuclear secrets, not about a taxpayer-funded pilot program,” an April 5 editorial in the Wall Street Journal reported.
During the March 10 vote, 57 Democrats voted and 54 of them opposed the vouchers program.
Why? Murdock suggested, “Follow the money,” and he pointed out that teachers’ unions shelled out $55,794,000 in political donations between 1999 and 2008, with 96% of the funds going to Democrats.
The “winners” in the Senate vote, he added, are “the teachers’ unions, who hate school choice, hate vouchers, and don’t give a damn about school kids when they threaten union pay, benefits, and control of classrooms.”

Whereas the gruesome terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the very real and palpable threat and fear of a whole string of sequel strikes, and the overriding imperative - shared in by the very same Democrats now going to war against their "criminal" Bushkin predecessors - of doing whatever it took to prevent them, have disappeared down the public policy memory hole. Perhaps to not revive even in the wake of fresh Islamist atrocities on our soil, as the intent of the Obamunist oberfuehrers is clearly to so demonize the very concept of muscular American "forward defense" against those who to this day make unequivocally clear their intent to kill as many of us as they can that there will be public support dared for nothing except the same neurotic, self-loathing, pacifist prostration that got us attacked eight years ago and will get us attacked again, even harder, and sooner rather than later.
Then again, it was on the cover of the San Francisco Chronicle, no less, that appeared the 9/12/01 headline "BASTARDS!" in huge, quivering, Bold-faced-raging capital letters. It took eight years for liberals to agitate and caterwaul and demonize the public back into a September 10th mindset; it'll take mere minutes to reverse it again.
Meanwhile, while Big Time was helpfully suggesting that B.O. stop cherry-picking only the classified CIA reports on how the Bush Administration gathered its al Qaeda-stopping intelligence and leaving out what they did so successfully with said intelligence, Lucifer was revealing anew where his true loyalties lie:

A growing chorus of experts is warning the Obama administration’s plan to add 47 million people to the health-insurance rolls may kill hopes for a sustained economic recovery.
Obama’s healthcare plan would follow the $700 billion TARP bailout, the $787 billion stimulus, and a $410 billion, earmark-laden budget appropriation -- at a time when the national debt already exceeds $11 trillion.
Such staggering deficits are leading economists to question whether enough investment capital would be left over once the expected economic recovery takes hold. Any economic recovery could stall or be seriously limited, economists say.
With "cap & tax" costing four grand per household and destroying as many as four million more jobs, just to mention another of Red Barry's (and Fat Albert's) insane, leftwing extremist schemes, I ask again: where will the money come from?
It's a trick question. The money was gone long, long ago. To quote the famous philospher Yosemite Sam, the libs have long since "scraped our hide clean offin' our carcasses"; now they're sucking the marrow from our economic bones like vampires with overbites.

I was devastated both times Bill Clinton was elected, but I think we are in far more danger now. Clinton's supporters, I think, understood his weaknesses and loved him in spite of them. Obama's, on the other hand, are completely blinded to his glaring character flaws and lack of integrity, and even more dangerous, his lack of insight and judgment regarding world affairs. They honestly think he can save the world, and honestly think he's right when he says we need to "remake" our country. Yes, Barack Obama has more wisdom than the Founding Fathers, in their eyes. Never mind that he has never DONE anything to earn such devotion. They are basing their perception of him on a dream, an image, a fantasy.
Studying this morning, I came across these verses:
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

My favorite verse is Romans 8:38 - "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
On down, though, there is this:
"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?"
