The Naked Emperor

We all know it. When will the muddled masses get it? Jim covered this well on last night's Hard Starboard radio show. Here's a good article over at Hot Air:

What he actually says is he won’t sign any bill that adds to our deficits over the next decade. The One knows this is a sinkhole in the long run even if it isn’t in the short run — which, per the CBO, it almost certainly is. No worries, though: “I don’t believe that government can or should run health care,” he assures us, ignoring the fact that he once famously said he doesn’t want to run the auto companies … a month after he forced the chairman of GM into early retirement. No wonder some prominent Democrats now want to, um, run the auto companies.

He is a careless, it-ain't-a-lie-because-it's-for-your-own-good, arrogant twit of a liar. I hate to say that about the president of the United States, I really do, but it is completely true. He lies more than Bill Clinton, and baby, THAT is a feat.

JASmius adds: I don't know if Barry O lies MORE than Bill Clinton.  The differences are more psychological and motivational.  Bill Clinton lied because it was instinctual for him, like a second nature.  The argument could not unreasonably be made that a lot of the time he wasn't even consciously aware he was doing it.  Which is part & parcel, I would argue, of why he was so good at it.  As to motivations, Sick Willie's were quite obviously far more of personal derivation ("Ah did not have sexual relations with that woman...Miss Lewinski....") than professional.  Largely because we saw what happened to his party in 1994 after his professional lies sank in with the voting public.  But the personal lies?  Well, as aggravating as it was to hear Dems cluck that "Everybody lies about sex," most Americans bought into it and couldn't bring themselves to punish Mr. Bill for prevarications that they themselves concluded they'd have spun in his place.

For B.O., by stark contrast, lying is clearly not one of his native talents.  That didn't harm him during the 2008 campaign and his first few months in office because of all the hopeandchange BS and the plain, simple, straightforward fact that he didn't yet have a record in office to have to defend.  But now?  Hogzilla HAD to be passed IMMEDIATELY to end the recession RIGHT NOW or we were ALL GONNA DIE!  So the "stimulus" bill was crammed down our throats without his neoBolshevik myrmidons reading a single word of it and it hasn't "stimulated" anything except ChiComm investor anxiety and Federal Reserve printing press maintenance bills.  The unemployment rate that it was going to keep under 8% is over 9.5% and destined to soar into double digits.  And now, in the greatest totalitarian tradition, he declares that Hogzilla was never intended to be a stimulus this year.  And a year from now he'll assure us that it was never intended to be a stimulus next year either, but a "long term" stimulus.  Until his re-election campaign, where he'll tell us that "it all depends on how you define 'long term'," and besides, Sarah Palin rapes elk with a strap-on billy-club.

Red Barry is insisting that he won't sign any health care takeover bill that adds to the deficits he's done nothing but add to in avalanche proportions over the past six months to pretend to send a message to the Donk Politburo on the Hill to address the public's burgeoning concerns about the fiscal and regulatory details that have escaped the Obamedia dragnet over the past few weeks about a "reform" bill that WILL take away our health care choices and WILL jack taxes to the ionosphere.  Or, put another way, he's scooting Crazy Nancy and Dirty Harry in front of him as human shields against the gathering mob of pitchfork-wielding townspeople who are realizing the full magnitude of their "Messiah's" betrayal of more or less everything he solemnly and sacredly promised them.  Congressional Donks pretend to tweak this measure and tug on that one - perhaps deleting their page 16 ban on private health insurance as a ready-made concession, which wouldn't be needed to kill off the private health insurance market under this bill in any case - without really "reforming the reform" at all.  The lumpenproletariat is appeased, shouts fresh hosannahs to Godbama for "saving the day," and Obamunism lives happily ever after.

One little problem: the hopeandchange template isn't functioning like it used to.  We've heard this song & dance before.  But there aren't any results to back it up.  There is just another primetime presser on Wednesday with The Chosen One in full scale panic/damage control/Bill Clinton mode which will look an awful lot like the identical performance he put on just a few weeks ago.  A sequel one would not think necessary if he really believed in the inevitability of BarryCare that he defiantly declared just last week.

What happens when the demigod gimmick proves to be a one-trick pony?  More "Baghdad Bob-esque" lies, more Biden buffoonery about the imperative of runaway deficits to bring down the deficit, and more the famous "Obama transparency" that used to be called "stonewalling":

The White House is being forced to acknowledge the wide gap between its once-upbeat predictions about the economy and today’s bleak landscape.

The administration’s annual midsummer budget update is sure to show higher deficits and unemployment and slower growth than projected in President Barack Obama’s budget in February and update in May, and that could complicate his efforts to get his signature health care and global-warming proposals through Congress.

The release of the update — usually scheduled for mid-July — has been put off until the middle of next month, giving rise to speculation the White House is delaying the bad news at least until Congress leaves town on its August 7 summer recess.

And when is B.O.'s decreed deadline for a BarryCare bill to be on his desk?  August 7th.

Totalitarianism, folks.  This is what sixty-eight million dipshits brought down on us all last November.  Only question is whether the majority of Americans are coming to their senses in time to stop Comrade Hussein from landing the killing blow.

UPDATE: J-Ger poses a worthy question:

If the President hasn't been able to pass health care and cap-and-tax, er, cap-and-trade by the August recess, I expect the release of the July numbers to be pushed back until December 25.

I wonder how much the administration can bottle up bad economic news. If Obama can just stifle the release of bad budget numbers that hurt his agenda, will we ever see any unemployment numbers released again?

Well, not to overuse the "T" word already, but ask yourself this: If he didn't, would the Obamedia ever seriously call him on it?

UPDATE II: Hey, look!  The Republicans have caught on!  Whoddathunkit?

UPDATE III: BarryCare's death knell?:

Some centrist House Democrats have reached out to Republicans to explore breaking with their party leadership on healthcare and crafting a reform bill with the rival GOP, one congressman claimed Saturday.

Representative Charles Boustany (R-LA) asserted that an “interesting development” is taking place underway that, if true, could effectively remove Democratic leadership from the driver’s seat on healthcare reform legislation in the House.

“There’s an interesting development occurring behind the scenes, wherein moderate Democrats — so-called “Blue Dog” Democrats — and business-friendly new Democrats are actually starting to have conversations with us to build a coalition from the center outward, to actually really come up with substantive and well-founded healthcare reform,” Boustany said during an appearance on Fox News. “And that’s the only way to do this.”

Remember: Even the Apostle Peter denied the REAL Messiah three times when he feared that he might suffer his LORD's fate (Years later, of course, he did, but that's another post).  And congressional Donks are not term-limited as False Messiah (constitutionally speaking, anyway) is.  The so-called "Blue Dogs" dug themselves a deep hole already by going along with Hogzilla.  With their unified opposition to cap & tax and now a similar rebellion against BarryCare, it appears that political self-preservation is proving itself, once again, mightier than Kool-Aid-swilling fealty to the latest, passing "Dear Leader" fad.

Makes me wonder how many will be Republicans a year and a half from now.
