Peace, Be Still

The Messiah says it's working. Pay no attention to the millions of jobs lost, the double digit inflation, the spiraling deficit, the ever-expanding size of the federal government. Obama says it's working, so that's all you need to know.

President Barack Obama said his $787 billion stimulus bill “has worked as intended” as he pushed back against Republican criticism that his recovery program has failed to rescue the economy.

“It has already extended unemployment insurance and health insurance to those who have lost their jobs in this recession,” Obama, who is traveling today in Ghana, said in his weekly Saturday radio and Web address. “It has delivered $43 billion in tax relief to American working families and business.”

Yeah, it has "worked as intended," all right. As YOU intended, not as the American people intended. There are still millions who believe in you, who think you have what's best for America at heart, who think you really do want the economy to get better. Useful idiots, dontcha love 'em? When you spew crap like "It has delivered $43 billion in tax relief to American working families and business," they believe you! And of course, the Obamabots in the media will cover for you.  

One wonders what you have to do in order to jerk the morons who voted for you back to reality. Maybe this shameful move will do it. Probably too much to expect, but one can hope.

There are a few things you need to know about President Obama’s shameful release on Thursday of the “Irbil Five” — Quds Force commanders from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) who were coordinating terrorist attacks in Iraq that have killed hundreds — yes, hundreds — of American soldiers and Marines.

JASmius adds: In other words, Barry is admitting that Hogzilla is a gargantuan welfare program.  In that sense, it is "successful," since the effect - and really, the point - of welfare programs is to keep their recipients poor, impoverished, ignorant, and indentured to keep servitudinally re-electing their Donk slavemasters in perpetuity.  At no time or place, however, has a welfare program ever actually lifted a single American out of poverty, made a single American self-sufficient, and boosted the REAL (i.e. private sector) economy.

I think that is the tack we're going to see more and more from the Obamunists as time rolls forward.  The "economic crisis" will become the new permanent status quo, sans any Carteroid "malaise" speeches.  The talk of "rescuing the economy" will fade, rhetoric about "helping suffering people in need" will burgeon, and Donks will ensconse themselves as guardians of the government leviathan that is the "only hope" of the American people and to which Republicans will be the perennial "major threat".  Or, in other words, the status quo in this country before Ronald Reagan came along and changed the rules of the game.  The freedom, strength, and prosperity of my adult lifetime (1982-2007) will totalitarianly cease to exist, never have happened, there'll be no Sarah Palin to rally the country back toward sanity, and we'll all be forced to "vote" for Red Barry and his apparatchiks "or else".  The recent Iranian "elections" will be their template.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Irbil Five liaisoning with ACORN in the not too distant future.
