Health Wars (8/10/09)

Just in case We, The People, were inclined to be charitable to House Shrieker "Crazy Nancy" Pelosi about her off the toilet tank remark about BarryCare opponents at Donk town hall appearances being "swastika-toting Nazis," both she AND her top lieutenant, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer - whom I would have expected to have the cranial wattage to know better - removed all doubt of the true mindset of the ENTIRE Democrat Party regarding its "subjects" by setting the same vile slander down IN PRINT for the entire country to see:

However, it is now evident that an ugly campaign is underway not merely to misrepresent the health insurance reform legislation, but to disrupt public meetings and prevent members of Congress and constituents from conducting a civil dialogue. These tactics have included hanging in effigy one Democratic member of Congress in Maryland and protesters holding a sign displaying a tombstone with the name of another congressman in Texas, where protesters also shouted “Just say no!” drowning out those who wanted to hold a substantive discussion.

These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.

Health care is complex. It touches every American life. It drives our economy. People must be allowed to learn the facts.

An "ugly campaign," Nance?  You mean like this one?  You mean like your minions deploying across the country to ignorantly regurgitate dishonest talking points on extremist legislation they haven't read and know little or nothing about that will destroy health care in this country (except for they and Sten and you, natch) but will hand vermin like you pretty near total control over all of our lives and, yes, bodies?  And we're supposed to just dociley nod our heads and burn incense to your demigod in cowed gratitude despite finding out the "facts" that your party didn't want us to learn before you'd crammed this atrocity down our collective throat?

Sorry to disappoint you, Queen Bee, but it's a pretty safe wager by now that a growing percentage of the electorate that so grievously and foolishly gave your party such unchecked power over us all has concluded that this is NOT the "hopeandchange" they voted for, and have this stubborn culture lag thing going that they're still sovereign citizens with constitutional rights to speak up and out against the gutter swindle power play filth like you and your party are trying by any means necessary to impose on them.  They, and we, HAVE the facts you didn't want them, and us, to find out, and it's your Donk drones who are either ducking "substantive discussion," pre-empting it through astroturfing town hall appearances with union partisans, or just flat-out sending the Purpleshirts out to beat the crap out of any citizen who dares publicly dissent from your Politburo's party line.  They very fact of your party's vicious attacks on the American people that elected you to the power you're abusing and your USA Today op-ed itself epitomize "un-Americanism.

The Democrat Party is unAmerican.  Both you and Hoyer are unAmerican.  Your "god" is unAmerican.  And so it was throughout the Bush years, where "unAmerican activities" far worse than an effigy here or a tombstone sign there were perpetrated against the President YOU opposed.  Anybody seen a sign depicting Red Barry's severed head yet, complete with dangling ganglia and gouting blood?  How about a mock postage stamp showing somebody with a revolver shooting B.O. in the head?  How about ENTIRE STAGE PLAYS glorifying False Messiah's assassination?  And what of elected Dems like Dick Durbin calling U.S. servicepeople Nazis, commies, and Pol Potists, or Ted Kennedy smearing Mr. Bush as having taken over and kept going Saddam Hussein's torture chambers?  It seems that your breed, Madame Shrieker, has a long and storied history of "disrupting" public debates on issues where the "facts" are not on your side and the only recourse available to you is "drowning out" your enemies with lies and smears and relentless demonization.

Yet for all your horror at the "uncivility" of anti-BarryCare protestors now, you seemed to occupy the diametric opposite stance when the "mobs" were people with whom you agreed:

No, THIS rabble was the very flower of American grassroots democracy in action.  And into action they went, baring their fat, saggy, otherwise unsightly boobs in public, squatting on President Bush's property in Crawford, Texas, disrupting congressional hearings, and so on and so on and so on ad nauseum.  Yet, for the life of me, I can't recall a single Republican, much less Mr. Bush, ever blasting these seditious nutbags as "unAmerican" or "mobs" or, well, seditious nutbags - all of which they most certainly were - or sending in nightstick-wielding cops or Federal Marshalls to cave in skulls to "send a message".  To the contrary, Godbama's predecessor not only acknowledged their constitutional right to such agitation - Wasn't that supposed to have been taken away by the Patriot Act or something? - but celebrated what a great country America is that such a right to such despicable morony existed for us all.

And of course, do you and your partner in crime remember this little time warped nugget from the woman you spurned last year?:

Except THIS administration, because it's fronted by your "god" and has you and your party on the precipice of realizing a degree of dictatorial power over the United States of America that will send the Constitution down the metaphorical shredder, a veritable coup de tat of "unAmericanism" in whose way "The People" must not be allowed to stand.

Well, welcome back to America, lady and gentleman - at least until you succeed in extinguishing it, once and for all.

Here are (Jenber's congresscritter) Mike Pence's.....

...Tom Price's....

....and John Boehner's slightly more politic reactions to this exercise in Donk dissent stifling.

But hey, look on the bright side: we're always slamming the Dems for being liars - at least now they're leveling with us.

These parasites certainly do know a cue for "patriotic action" when they see one:

Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer decided to double down on some pretty distasteful messaging today, calling some of the opposition to health care reform, “un-American” in a USA Today ope-ed. Specifically, this is what the Speaker finds so unpatriotic:

“These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.”…

I have a memo from SEIU Local 2001 (the same Connecticut. district where the original MacGuffie memo originated), which cannot be misunderstood. It was issued this week in preparation for Representative Jim Himes’ town hall in Stamford, Connecticut.

It’s still up, but I did a screen shot, in case it disappears. Here’s the announcement:

“Action: Opponents of reform are organizing counter-demonstrators to speak at this and several congressional town halls on the issue to defend the status quo. It is critical that our members with real, personal stories about the need for access to quality, affordable care come out in strong numbers to drown out their voices.”

Ah, but this isn't "unAmerican" "incivility," oh, heavens, NO; the Purpleshirts are the modern-day Minutemen, here to save American democracy from the "Nazi mobs," dontcha know.  Just as none dare call this call to paid action left-wingnut astroturfing - why, that would be "unAmerican," now wouldn't it?

Just listen to this overdressed fascist agitator whine about the vigilence of the sentinels of moral and righteous compassion:

Hey, bud, being part of the American underground doing battle with the hostile forces occupying our country has a cost that has to be counted.  What, did you think that you still had constitutional rights or something?  They're only for the Party Elites.  It's clear that Dr. Chicago hasn't gotten to you on his forcible soul-fixing list yet - the only "health care" item that won't be rationed under BarryCare.

I can't resist glomming this AP quote:

it truly is amazing to think how many “climate of hate” pieces have been written about the right’s rhetorical excesses vis-a-vis the near total pass the left’s gotten over the past week. We’ve had congressmen screeching about “political terrorists,” “brown shirts,” and “rabid animals,” Senators denouncing “un-American” activities, the DNC running ads about “angry mobs,” the president himself telling his opponents to shut up and get out of the way, and the Democratic brain trust now setting up a “war room” to respond to health-care “attacks.” Glenn Beck’s said repeatedly on his show that he supports nonviolent resistance only, but a fat lot of good that’s done him with liberals more interested in the “subtext” of his messaging; pray tell, what “subtext” should we glean from the dehumanizing venom being spit by the Democratic leadership over the past ten days?

Be happy, I guess, that they’ve finally found a war they can support unequivocally, where for once there’s no need to ponder the “root causes” that alienated the other side.

Don't expect fair treatment or intellectual integrity out of these people.  Rather, expect exactly what we're getting from them - lies, insults, defamation, and yes, mob violence - and conduct the battle for the survival of the American Republic accordingly, while the goal is still within the realm of attainability.

Returning to the astroturfers, we have Washington Third District U.S. Representative Briny Boy Baird now equating grassroots healthcare freedom activists to domestic terrorists, and this upstanding contribution to "health care reform" from that noted anti-senior citizen organization, the AARP:

Hey, if ya can't believe an organization that is defending the gutting of Medicare against the majority of its membership's vehement opposition about fighting health care "myths" that are facts with health care "facts" that are myths, who CAN ya believe?  Now get right out there and t-bone a Brooks Brothers Brigader right away!

Geraghty calls the ad "beyond parody," a description that applies to this entire BarryCare debacle.  To resummarize: Obama and the Obamunists tried to sneak HillaryCare II past an unsuspecting public using the same hamfisted "stealth" legislative strategy template that had been exposed by the inevitable failure of the Hogzilla stimulus.  The scam didn't work a second time, their lies got exposed, the facts got out, the public turned against it AND them, and the Dems reacted as the puerile, jackbooted fascists they are.  Now they've painted themselves so far out on a limb so far off the rocks below that they've left themselves with only two options: politically perish or follow through on their base fascist impulses and try the cramdown anyway, after which they'll also politically perish but only temporarily.

Could it be that somebody in the White House recalls the existence of a "third way"?:

“I think there’s actually a pretty long tradition of people shouting at politicians in America,” White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton told reporters on Air Force One when asked about the comments.

“The President thinks that if people want to come and have a spirited debate about health care, a real vigorous conversation about it, that’s a part of the American tradition and he encourages that, because people do have questions and concerns …And so if people want to come and have their concerns and their questions answered, the President thinks that’s important. Now, if you just want to come to a town hall so that you can disrupt and so that you can scream over another person, he doesn’t think that that’s productive. And as a country, we’ve been able to make progress when people actually talk out what our problems are, not try to shout each other down.”

More Carnahanesque backpedalling, or Clintonesque triangulation?  Kinda hard for the Chosen One to do when he's had a rather leading role in telling his ungrateful subjects to "stop talking" and "get out of my way".  Sure, the Obamedia will give him a pass, but the Lefty overlordery has gotten so far beyond the pale that Barry would need some time for all of his party's nastiness to blow over even with as short an attention span as the American public has today.

And frankly, he doesn't have that kind of time....
