Health Wars (8/18/09)

The latest from the front lines....

***The toe-sucking prophet is already being vindicated:

Sixty thousand members out AARP's door, just like that.  See what happens when We, The People actually pay attention to what's actually going on inside the Beltway instead of the bilge the Obamedia force-feeds the broad swath of the otherwise anesthetized public that still gets its "news" through what Michael Reagan famously dubbed "the twenty-one-inch peephole into paradise"?  We - particularly seniors, always the most politically-plugged in demographic - get the truth:

Seniors can be forgiven if they sense a heapin’ helping of hypocrisy from the AARP. The organization bitterly opposed efforts to reform Social Security four years ago, claiming that the Bush administration’s privatization plans amounted to a “dismantling” of the retirement plan, even before they’d actually seen the proposal. Now, when Obama offers big cuts in actual coverage in Medicare and Medicare Advantage, suddenly they want to play coy about reading the bill. Their lack of response is easily taken as tacit endorsement, considering the hysterical response four years ago.

I'll say it again: remember Mediscare?  Another hysterical Donk response to Republicans proposing....what?  In essence, exactly what Barack Obama is supposedly insisting on: "bending the cost curve."  And that wasn't any half trillion dollars in Medicare CUTS, but merely a moderate slowing in the rate of Medicare spending increases in order to SAVE the entitlement from the actuarial collapse that is now only a few years away.  Yet in 1996 the latter was "leaving Medicare to wither on the vine," while today the former is no big deal, including by the supposed main lobbying organization for elderly Americans.  Only difference was which party was in power; the biggest similarity is the common thread of all hard-left factions: their bailiwicks are just a pretense for the Marxist creed that animates and unites them, at our expense.

Seniors are simply refusing to keep subsidizing their own betrayal.

***Our old friend Tony The Weiner must have overdosed on sodium pentathol or something, because he just won't stop spewing the truth of what the Left really wants for an already angry American public to hear:

Ensign Ed speaks of Joe Scarborough "goading" Weiner Man into ever-greater candor, but I frankly don't think it was necessary.  Rather, "Morning Joe" rides his own wave of incredulity almost to trying to toss the Schumeroid a lifeline (or a hook) in order to reel him back onto the ledge he's spent over five minutes throwing himself off of.  And Weiner will not be reeled (or hooked), declaring that if even his own lord and savior won't completely eradicate private health insurance AND private health care in order to impose health care Utopia in their place, by Barack, he will.

Just a hunch, but I'd wager the Weiner has never held a true town hall get-together.  And given how his ears are so selectively working, it's probably just as well.  Besides, he'll need to be fresh for his efforts to ascend to the House Minority leadership in 2011.

***Funny, I would have figured that My Boy Lollipop wouldn't have felt the need to bother with a town haller, given how hopelessly "blue" his Massachusetts district is.  But he did, if only, I suppose, to lord over his subjects like the local baron or something.  What he got was a slightly more boisterous variation on what Zoe Lofgren encountered:

Maybe the man-batter-stirrer got "town haller" confused with "town holler".  Either way, if HIS constituents are up in arms about Red Barry's fascist health care bullet train, this turn back to the right from sea to shining sea (and I do believe that does include the coasts) is metastasizing at warp speed.  Either that or the Astroturf Express has gotta be running itself to death by this time.

Not that B.F. Slurper gives a damn:

His and his Bolshevik colleagues' minds were made up YEARS ago on this putsch; all they needed was an opportunity, and it was a lot of the same people that were growling at Barney Frank that handed it to them.  Almost makes me think they deserve all the condescending crap their Baron shat upon them.

***Now, to be fair, it isn't just Democrats facing their constituents; but in Republicans' case, it's less a confrontation of one's persecutors and assailants and more a spirited urging to take them on on the People's behalf:

Republicans have been largely on the sidelines of this Donk-generated tempest, but that's not going to last forever.  Sooner or later they're going to have to get in this game visibly.  It's a 1994-seque opportunity for them, with all the 1998-esque hazards if they don't get off that schneid and fulfill their role as more "opposition" than "loyal".

***But come on, dudes, how could the Dems be making a Pachyderm resurrection any easier?:

Now opposition to The Gospel According To Barack is Nazi, racist, AND a threat to crucify False Messiah.  Gotta hand it to 'em, they're leaving no defamatory stone unturned.

But then it isn't just Dr. Demented; the entire Donk Party is the Party of "YEEEAARRRGGGH!".  Remember Eric Massa, the Blue Gelding who offered his blood and entrails on a platter to Crazy Nancy even if it meant voting for BarryCare if his constituents were 80/20 against it?  Turns out he was just warming up:

So not only does refusing to bow down to Godbama make you a Nazi, a fascist, a thug, a racist, AND a presidential assassin, but it makes you a traitor as well.

So I guess we have nothing to lose by pointing out that Barry O's trying to sell BarryCare as akin to the bankrupt "efficiency experts" at the U.S. Postal Service made him look like an even bigger idiot, or that even the WaPo has ceased trying to ignore what a horrendous liar he's become, or that his inner circle is making those of Nixon and Clinton look like the post-Judas Iscariot Twelve Apostles.

Typically in life, when the person to whom you're speaking gets all evasive and irritable and blustering, he's either got something to hide or he's lost the argument.

Politics is no different - except when there are enough of evasive, irritable, blustering people to cause a great deal of damage on their way out the door.  And on that, the fate of the country still hangs very much in the balance.
