The Price Of Dissent
Left-wing protest is "patriotic"; right-wing protests are, at least for Congresscreature Carol Shea-Porter, verbotten:
Hey, Mr. Tomanelli, what's the matter with you? At least S-P actually held a town-haller, man. If the price of dragging her bloated, unworthy carcass in front of her subjects constituents was to be muzzled not by her absence but by her Purpleshirt thugs, isn't that worth the price of admission?
Woah, guess not. Evidently blasting her cosmically hypocritical, "gold-ticketed" imperiousness was worth the price of Carl's ouster. Hope he's got enough cash on hand to make bail.
Is anybody else starting to wonder about all this Donk jackbootery and sulfuric extremism and disdain of the very voters who elected them? Sure, we know the usual suspects when it comes to this kind of lib candor, but while the "teabaggers" have been the primary focus of the August recess, I'm increasingly pondering how widespread the attitude and indiscretion of Donks like Carol Shea-Porter has become. Not all such nakedly anti-democratic hostility has come from Dems in safe districts, after all, a category in which S-P surely belongs. Voting for hugely unpopular legislation is one thing, but going out of your way to give the finger to constituents in maximally public fashion? Why would S-P do that after ducking them all month? It's like she's playing with them like a cat bats around a mouse, deliberately stoking constituent anger for her own amusement without any apparent fear of the electoral consequences in just fourteen months.
It's like....she knows something. Like she doesn't have to worry about what her district's voters think because they're going to be rendered irrelevant somehow.
If anybody has a better explanation for this baffling phenomenon, I'm all ears. But this ominous feeling is becoming harder and harder to ignore.
