The Suicidal Spirit Is Willing, But The Brain Is Weak

California is spending and regulating itself to death.  Their dual solution?  Raise taxes to the Kuiper Belt, and empty all their prisons!  What will the Golden State do with all that freed-up prison space?  DiFi has a suggestion:

Big of her to volunteer Missouri for this "honor" as well.  Something tells me volunteering her own state isn't going to sit well with its population.  But it'll go over great with the jihadis still at Gitmo and their al Qaeda superiors, who'd get the chance of a lifetime to "proselytize" additional recruits into the jihad and turn our own constitution into the proverbial suicide pact.

Happily there remains one factor that is operating in Americans' defense from a renewed Islamist onslaught - Barack Obama's incompetence:

With four months left to meet its self-imposed deadline for closing the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the Obama administration is working to recover from missteps that have put officials behind schedule and left them struggling to win the cooperation of Congress.

Even before the inauguration, President Obama’s top advisers settled on a course of action they were counseled against: announcing that they would close the facility within one year. Today, officials are acknowledging that they will be hard-pressed to meet that goal.

The White House has faltered in part because of the legal, political and diplomatic complexities involved in determining what to do with more than 200 terrorism suspects at the prison. But senior advisers privately acknowledge not devising a concrete plan for where to move the detainees and mishandling Congress.

Barry O lectured us on how Gitmo was horrible and inhumane and torturous and had to be closed as the affront to civilization that he insisted it was and declared his intention to do so by the end of 2009.  And that, apparently, is all the farther he thinks his role in this little suicide project goes, because he neither had nor developed any plan for doing so, nor any place to send them.  Even most Donk senators who were all morally supremacistically in favor of closing Gitmo backflipped into paroxysms of NIMBYism when asked to pony up prison cells in their own states.  Ditto our allies who were less than enthusiastic about the Li'l President's mass murderer outsourcing, including the British to whose facilities in Bermuda he send four Uighirs without telling them.

But why would Obama know anything of what it takes to be an effective Executive?  'snot like he'd ever been one before, and the on-the-job training doesn't seem to be teaching him anything.  And why, in turn, would it?  In his mind, he's a god, not a mere Chief Executive; working out the details is "mortal's work".

Ironic that our very lives have come to depend in no small measure on how impenetrable a boob we've stuck in the Oval Office.  Pity that he's also such a pussy is such a mortal hazard in so many other ways.
