Less Than None?
I didn't think it was possible to like Joe Biden any less, but after reading My Grandfather's Son by Clarence Thomas, I think my regard for Biden has reached below zero. I knew he was a pompous, two-faced weasel, but the way he treated Clarence Thomas during the high tech lynching that was his confirmation hearing was just beneath contempt. Thomas relates in the book how Biden had promised to treat him fairly, was cordial to his face, the whole nine yards, but when he got him into the Senate confirmation chamber, he was a rabid idiot, just like the rest of the Democrats on that panel.
This book is encouraging in one way, in that there *are* some good people in Congress, but it is also discouraging in that there are a LOT of bad people; false, corrupt, genuinely bad people. I knew that, but hearing this story from Thomas' perspective was just infuriating. Also the fact that the lying little bimbo at the center of the whole thing, Anita Hill, made millions from her lies - speaking fees, etc. from the idiots who believed her and idolized her. Hmmm...kinda reminds me of Obama voters.
