What Is A Census?
Gosh, I always thought its purpose was to count how many American CITIZENS there were and how they were distributed geographically and demographically. Or, at the very least, how many people are in the country LEGALLY.
Senator David Vitter (R-LA) also labors under that evidently quaintly anacrhonistic notion, and wonders (rhetorically) just why "Dirty Harry" Reid is so determined to defend its abuse to extend the reach of Democrat power:
Lumping in illegals in the last Census adding as many as five additional House seats for California? That's also five additional Electoral Votes for "Big Blue" as well. If the last Census had preceded the 2000 election, Al Gore would have been president at least until 2004 instead of George W. Bush, and one or several American cities quite likely long since reduced to ruins by now. Think another such sk(r)ewing of the 2010 Census couldn't have effects equally destructive as corrupt?
The good news? This is a more public manifestation of what would have gone on at a much lower level were it not for the recent fall of ACORN as the ObamaHouse's shock troops. Senators Vitter and Bob Bennett (R-UT) are performing a necessary and politically savvy public service by calling out Dirty Harry on so commonsensical a point that even some libs are nodding their heads, revealing the blatantly partisan motivations driving his obstructionism.
Call it a pre-emptive shot across the bow of, or the next iceberg into which the U.S.S. Hopenchange is determined to sail its party straight into after crap & tax and BarryCare.
