Sickened
That's the feeling in my stomach this morning as I read this. Our march to socialism is turning into a jog. Our only hope of maintaining the free America we all know and love now rests with the Senate, where unfortunately there are sixty Democrats. I'm usually the optimistic one, but I think Obama and his evil right hand man Harry Reid will get this through, the will of the people be damned.
In Obama's response, he said this:
Even after last year’s election, many insider lobbyists and partisan operatives really thought that the old formula of scare tactics, D.C. back-scratching and special-interest money would still be enough to block any idea they didn’t like. Now, they’re desperate. Because, tonight, you made it crystal clear: the old rules are changing — and the people will not be ignored.
What a bald-faced liar he is. HE is the one using the tactics he decries, and "ignoring the people" is exactly what the Democrats did last night. Honestly, this takes my breath away. Could we possibly be any louder? Attract any more attention, I mean legally? Our only recourse is to get rid of as much liberal scum as we can in 2010. Hopefully we will not have gone up in a mushroom cloud before then due to our man-child president's pathetic foreign policy...but I digress. Boy, am I glad church is this morning. I certainly need some spiritual comfort right now.
JASmius adds: He also said:
“I’m absolutely confident we’ll get this thing done,” Obama told the group. “And when I’m in the Rose Garden signing a piece of legislation to give health care to all Americans, we’ll look back and say that was our finest moment.”
Except, of course, that he'll be TAKING AWAY health care FROM all Americans to heard us into the cattlecars of government "exchanges". More "audacity of hope," I guess.
Yeah, it's hard to get happy after that vote. You feel like it's all slipping away, never to be recovered, everything that this country has stood for and defended for 233 years going up in smoke.
And yet....Crazy Nancy also rammed through cripple & tax back in the summer, and it's dying in the Senate, doomed by the divisions it bred in the Senate Dem caucus. The same is true of BarryCare, where now even the most bold Donk optimists are admitting won't see any movement until after the State of the Union show, if then. That's always where this monstrosity was going to be stopped. If it could have been shot down in the House, that would have been gravy.
Exit quote from Eeyore: "Take heart, righties: Reid is incompetent, which makes the likelihood of sixty votes in the Senate, especially after a vote this narrow, very slim indeed."
