Policy Patriots -

What have you accomplished?

Because of your efforts against ObamaCare all the Republican Senators stayed the course. About two dozen of them were potential votes for something like the Reid bill.

Where are we now?

The Senate and House bills have to be reconciled and then go back for a vote in the Senate and House. Right now, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are talking with each other about how to reconcile the differences between the two bills. We are hearing that there may not be a formal conference committee, because of all the procedural hurdles to appoint conferees, including likely Republican opposition and various time-consuming matters pertaining to congressional rules and procedures.

There could be some sort of "informal" conference committee, bypassing congressional rules, where a few Senate and House Democrats literally write a new bill (taking pieces from each of the House and Senate passed bills). Both chambers of Congress would have to approve the new bill. By and far the quickest way to the President's desk is for the House of Representatives to simply pass the Senate-passed bill. That would avoid a conference committee altogether. But there is a lot of push - back from House liberals (including Reps. Rangel, Waxman, Miller, and so forth).

Your cost for the Senate bill - lots of Christmas gifts under their tree!

Here is what the Obama Administration gave away to get the bill passed - this is your money and it was not listed as part of the cost of the Senate bill! And, we thought those Senators were standing up for what they believed in. Here is what they got!

This is adapted from a Dana Milbank column in The Washington Post:

The Louisiana Purchase: $100 million in extra Medicaid money for the Bayou State, requested by Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.).

The Cornhusker Kickback: $100 million in extra Medicaid money, this time for Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.).

Omaha Prime Cuts: Nebraska's Nelson won a "carve out" provision that would reduce fees for Mutual of Omaha and other Nebraska insurers.

Con: $100 million meant for a medical center in Connecticut for Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-Conn.)

Gator Aid: Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Flo.) secured a grandfather clause will allow Floridians to preserve their pricey Medicare Advantage program from cuts imposed in the other states.

Handout Montana: Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) secured Medicare coverage for anybody exposed to asbestos - as long as they worked in a mine in Libby, Montana.

Iowa Pork: Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) won more Medicare money for low-volume hospitals of the sort commonly found in Iowa.

Dakota Payoff: Sens. Byron Dorgan and Kent Conrad, both North Dakota Democrats, will enjoy a provision bringing higher Medicare payments to hospitals and doctors in "frontier counties" of states such as - let's see here - North Dakota!

Hawaii Aloha: Hawaii, with two Democratic Senators, will get richer payments to hospitals that treat many uninsured people.

Wolverine Bonanza: Michigan, home of two other Democrats, will earn higher Medicare payments and some reduced fees for Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

What socialism means in Vermont: Sen. Bernie Sanders is getting larger Medicaid payments for his state (neighboring Massachusetts will get some, too).

Next Step!

Write your Senators and House members. They are counting the number of letters, so you are making a difference. So far, they have received over 440,000 letters from our Policy Patriots, and over 9,500 calls. Remember, 2010 is an election year and one third of the Senate and the full House is up for re-election. The message is: you work for me! Go to the Action Army now! Let them know they work for you with your letter. http://www.actionarmy.org

Do not try to call this week!

Many of you have tried to call and the Senate telephones are not being answered. Apparently, they do not want to hear from us, so let's wait until next week when the staffers are back in the offices.

Dear Patriotic American,

For most of us, the end of one year and the beginning of another is a time to reflect on the past and make resolutions for the future.

This past year, my FOX News team and I were embedded with America’s finest: the men and women of our Armed Forces, during our 16th trip to report on the fight against radical Islamic terror.

It has been my great blessing to have spent most of my life in the company of real American heroes, all our soldiers, sailors, airmen, Guardsmen and Marines – like the ones you see pictured on this page – who leave their families and risk their lives to keep America safe, strong and free.

For these heroes and their families, I come to you with an urgent and humble request.

Please open your heart with an urgently-needed year-end tax-deductible contribution to support Freedom Alliance today.

Nearly 20 years ago, I founded FREEDOM ALLIANCE with the mission of honoring, thanking, and supporting our troops.

We at Freedom Alliance work every day to ensure that today’s Veterans of the War on Terror are thanked and respected for their courage and their sacrifice.

During the past year, thanks to so many generous Americans who support our mission, Freedom Alliance touched the lives of more than 17,000 brave soldiers, sailors, airmen, guardsmen and Marines and their families. On behalf of a grateful nation, we thanked, honored and supported thousands of our wounded troops in military hospitals including Bethesda Naval Medical Center and Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and Warrior Transition Units all across America, including those at Brooke Army Medical Center, Texas; Fort Riley, Kansas; Fort Carson, Colorado; Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii and many, many more.

Freedom Alliance once again this year shipped thousands of pounds of "Gifts from Home" care packages to our servicemen and women who are putting their very lives on the line, fighting the War on Terror, far away from those they love and their dear homeland.

In addition, the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund awarded a record number of educational scholarships this year to 200 young Americans - the sons and daughters of our military heroes - to help make their dream of a college education come true and to remind them that their parents’ sacrifice will never be forgotten by a grateful nation.

All we are able to provide to, and for, our Armed Forces and their families, is due to the generous spirit of so many patriotic Americans who love our country and those who defend our freedom.

Please help Freedom Alliance continue our charitable and humanitarian efforts with your most generous year-end, tax-deductible contribution.

We are counting on your help today. Please make your most generous gift to Freedom Alliance by GOING HERE. In appreciation for your gift of $25 or more, we will send you the full color 2010 Freedom Alliance Calendar, which is overflowing with more than 50 beautiful photos showing how much the generous support of people like you has touched and transformed the lives of so many brave American Heroes.

During the coming NEW YEAR, 2010, I invite you to join with us as Freedom Alliance celebrates our 20th Anniversary – "Twenty Years of Defending Liberty and Honoring Heroes!"

On our 20th Anniversary, Freedom Alliance is re-dedicating and redoubling our efforts on behalf of: "The selfless men and women who serve our nation with bravery and distinction and to their loved ones, who stand by their side each day. A grateful nation thanks you."

Please make your most generous YEAR-END gift to Freedom Alliance today by GOING HERE. Your contribution is a special way to support, honor and thank our brave defenders of freedom, who risk their lives every minute of every day, because they love our country and want to secure the blessings of liberty for our country and our families – now, and for evermore.

REMEMBER, our brave men and women fighting the War on Terror are still in harm’s way in Iraq and Afghanistan and more troops are heading there now and into 2010. They need and they deserve our support, prayers and appreciation. Your tax-deductible contribution today will help us send more care packages overseas to soldiers like PFC Brian, who recently wrote us this note from Iraq:

"I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. It’s always nice to know there are people who care about us and what we do. We do all we can out here to fight for freedom. Your heartfelt cards and packages remind us that there are things in life worth fighting for and that we will continue to do whatever we can. So once again, thank you very much."

PLEASE GO HERE to make your gift today to FREEDOM ALLIANCE. If you make your gift today, it will count as a tax-deductible contribution in 2009. To say thanks, for an unrestricted gift of $25 or more, we will send you one of our colorful, full-size 2010 Calendars, which marks our upcoming 20th Anniversary Celebration during all of 2010!

FREEDOM ALLIANCE IS COUNTING ON YOUR SUPPORT as we work together to secure the blessings of liberty now and for future generations.

All of us here at Freedom Alliance wish you and your family a very Happy New Year.

Speedy recovery, Rush!

Conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital on Wednesday afternoon with chest pains, sources told KITV.

Paramedics responded to the call at 2:41 p.m. at the Kahala Hotel and Resort.

Limbaugh suffered from chest pains, sources said. Paramedics treated him and took him to Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition.

He was seen golfing at Waialae Country Club earlier this week. The country club is next to the Kahala Hotel and Resort.

We need you now more than ever!

Five years ago, we made history when John Thune defeated Senate Democratic Leader Tom Daschle in South Dakota.

As the Thune campaign manager, I will personally never forget the support we received that gave us the ability to make the case against Tom Daschle. As a result, a sitting Democratic leader was defeated for reelection for the first time in 52 years.

Amazingly, we have yet another opportunity to unseat the Senate Democratic leader, this time Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada. Will you stand with us again by making a contribution to defeat Harry Reid?

However, there are major differences between the 2004 race in South Dakota as opposed to the 2010 race for the U.S. Senate in Nevada.

Tom Daschle was a mere obstructionist of the Republican agenda. Harry Reid is the chief architect of the worst parts of the Obama-Democratic agenda: The job-killing “cap and trade” legislation; the debt-deepening “stimulus” bill; the budget busting bailout and appropriations bills.

And finally, Harry Reid is driving the most dangerous threat to our nation, the $2.5 trillion “health care reform” bill that will destroy private health care insurance and increase taxes on families and small businesses.

Tom Daschle was a rank amateur compared to Harry Reid.

But just like 2004 when a candidate with sheer guts and determination stepped forward to challenge Tom Daschle, an outstanding Republican leader of accomplishment has emerged to challenge Harry Reid in Nevada: Sue Lowden.

Sue Lowden is no stranger to taking on seemingly impossible odds in a political campaign and winning. Sue Lowden defeated the Majority Leader of the Nevada State Senate in 1992 in a Democratic district which shifted the chamber to Republican control. Please make your contribution of $250, $500, $1,000 or more now to the proven candidate that can kick Harry Reid out of office.

Sue Lowden was immediately elected Senate Majority Whip by her colleagues and also chaired the Senate Taxation Committee where she strongly opposed higher taxes and fees. In fact, when pro-tax increase senators tried to ram through higher taxes in her committee, Sue Lowden shut it down earning the committee the name of “Senate No-Taxation Committee.”

Before being elected to the state senate, Sue Lowden was an award winning television news anchorwoman. Sue and her husband, Paul, are successful business leaders in Nevada.

As Colorado Republican State Chairman, I got to know Sue Lowden well during her service as Nevada Republican State Chairwoman.

Just like John Thune, Sue Lowden has what it will take to defeat the Senate Democratic leader. Sue Lowden is a principled conservative who can effectively articulate the clear differences with Harry Reid.

As someone who saw up close what it takes to defeat a sitting Democratic leader, I know that Sue Lowden has what it takes to win in 2010. If Sue Lowden has the financial resources, she will defeat Harry Reid.

Sincerely,

Dick Wadhams
2004 Campaign Manager, John Thune for U.S. Senate

Tomorrow, December 31, is the deadline for making tax-deductible contributions to the National Right to Work Foundation or other charitable organizations for the 2009 tax year!

With today’s tax system, many Americans are looking for ways to cut back on their tax bills and help causes they truly care about such as Right to Work.

Now is an especially critical time for you to support your National Right to Work Foundation, as union bosses are seeking new opportunities to exploit America’s economic crises to reach for more power.

As I’m sure you are aware, the union bosses are becoming more powerful than they’ve been in decades after spending over a Billion Dollars electing forced unionism proponents to the White House and Congress.

They’ve gutted union financial disclosure requirements, cut the budget of the federal agency that investigates union corruption, and installed former union bigwigs in key positions in federal agencies and in the judiciary.

But 2010 could be even worse in the struggle against compulsory unionism. Big Labor’s power brokers are still clamoring for even bigger power grabs: passage of the Card Check Forced Unionism Bill, police and firefighter monopoly bargaining, elimination of all 22 state Right to Work laws by federal fiat, and forced unionization of the health care field.

That’s why, with the year quickly drawing to a close, I hope you’ll make a special year-end, tax-deductible gift to the National Right to Work Foundation right now using this simple online form.  All cash donations should be dated and postmarked no later than December 31 for deductibility in 2009.

In order to maximize the tax advantages, you may also want to consider a contribution of stocks, bonds, or other property that has appreciated in value.  A transfer of such assets before midnight on Thursday, December 31 avoids capital gains taxes and the full market value can be deducted on your 2009 tax return.  (For further information about making non-cash gifts, please don’t hesitate to contact Ginny Smith at (800) 336-3600.)

Thanks again for your support of the Foundation’s strategic legal program.  Best wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year!

Warm Regards,

Stefan Gleason

The Freedom Movement: A Historic 2009 Gives Way to a Busy 2010

Dear Friend of Liberty,

I hope you and your family are celebrating a safe and happy holiday season. While the fight for freedom never rests, all of us at FreedomWorks would like to take a moment to thank you for all of your hard work throughout 2009 and remind you of just some of what we accomplished together.

The beginning of this year certainly seemed grim with newly-elected President Obama and a staunchly liberal Congress readying an aggressive agenda to expand government’s reach and take away more of our fundamental freedoms. The Left seemed ready to ram through government-run health care, a cap and trade system that would slap Americans with a new energy tax, and card check legislation that would strengthen the Unions and break the backs of small business owners.

But we fought back hard, and though the battle over health care continues to rage, the fact remains that Obama, Pelosi, and Reid can’t check-off a single item from this socialist wish-list in 2009.

Beginning with your support of and participation in the “Tea Parties” that started popping up all over the country in early spring, you helped to lead a reawakening of conservative, limited government grassroots power that has been dormant for some time now. More than a million grassroots activists just like you helped to make over a thousand April 15th Tax Day Tea Parties a success. This unprecedented grassroots energy culminated in the historic 9-12 Taxpayer March on Washington when between 800,000 and 1 million freedom-loving activists descend on the nation’s capitol to combat the Left’s assault on liberty.

The overwhelming show of grassroots force stemmed the tide and turned back the big government machine, preventing them from winning their most sought-after prizes.

These accomplishments deserve our reflection, and praise for people, like you, that were such an important part of it. Yet at the same time, we must keep up the fight. And in that vein, FreedomWorks is preparing now for a very busy 2010.

Specifically, we have identified three key priorities. I am asking for your help and support to ensure their success.

1. The Fight against Government-Run Health Care isn’t Over. Yes, the Left has moved their planned takeover of our country’s health care system forward, but their coalition is extremely fragile and we have multiple opportunities to derail the legislation as the two chambers try to settle major differences between their bills.

2. April 15th – Tax Day 2010. In the same spirit as the historic 9-12 Taxpayer March on Washington, FreedomWorks is helping to organize another mass-demonstration in Washington, D.C. American taxpayers have had enough of out-of-control spending and continued attempts by the Left to erode the fundamental freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution. Last time we took our message to the front lawn of the Capitol, this time we will take it directly to Barrack Obama’s front door! (details soon to follow).

3. FreedomWorks PAC. 2010 presents us with a unique opportunity to change the political battlefield and tip the balance of power towards champions of our limited government agenda. FreedomWorks PAC will be ramping up this election season to elect new champions of freedom and to defeat the entrenched political class that currently owns and controls our government.

We expect many other battles to emerge throughout 2010 and FreedomWorks will remain vigilant and nimble to pivot as necessary. However, I believe that if we focus on these three priorities in the coming year we can effectively turn the tables on the Left and take America back. I am asking today for your support to make these priorities a reality in 2010.

A contribution of $25, $100, or more will give us the resources we need to make each of these critical campaigns a success and help us to build on the historic success of 2009.

FreedomWorks will continue to keep you posted with issue developments and opportunities to get involved throughout 2010. With your help, I think 2010 could actually be a bigger year for the conservative, limited government movement. I hope I can count on you.
Sincerely,

Kibbe Signature

Freedom In Truth Trust

"Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
- John 8:32
J.D. Hayworth
Yes, the truth will make you free. But sometimes it's very, very expensive.

My name is J. D. Hayworth, and I represented Arizona as a United States Congressman from 1995-2007. To this day, journalists and bloggers inaccurately refer to my "ties" to Jack Abramoff. Here's what really happened, and why it's important for you to know the truth.

After the 2006 election was history, my staff and I were packing up the D.C. office to return to Arizona. As this was happening, an attorney from the Department of Justice called and told us "Don't throw away anything!" This attorney, his curiousity piqued by press accounts attempting to link me with the criminal Jack Abramoff, had decided to look into these allegations.

Prior to the 2006 campaign, some of my opponents and their allies created a very clever scheme: Link Abramoff to their political targets using a 'bridge' of Indian tribes who contributed to people like me.

It's a simple and very devastating attack strategy: Make a claim through some intermediaries, or off the record, that Abramoff is directing the Indian tribes to make campaign contributions to their opponents. Then force the opponents to waste money, time, and energy fighting that battle instead of the one they should be fighting: for their constituents. As an added bonus, if they can stir the pot enough, they can get official investigators interested in the issue under the guise of "If there's this much smoke, there must be a fire around here somewhere". This causes even more distraction, more wasted money, and more wasted time.

Ethical? No.
Effective? Very.

Here are the simple facts:

  1. Abramoff contributed a grand total of $2,250 dollars to my political efforts. ($250 in 1996, $1,000 in 1998, and $1,000 to our leadership political action committee, TEAMPAC, in 1999.)
  2. I never met with Abramoff concerning any legislation.
  3. He never came to my office.
  4. He never lobbied me directly on any issue.

Once Abramoff's troubling activities were revealed, we donated that money to charity (Hurricane Katrina relief). Simply put, we didn't want it.

Please understand, the Indian tribes were the true targets of Abramoff, I was simply collateral damage. The tribes were his clients and they were defrauded of tens of millions of dollars. Our office offered to return their contributions to them, but tribal officials stepped up to the plate and stated for the record that they themselves had made their own determinations about who they would support with political donations.

In the meantime, we cooperated fully with the Department of Justice, and hopefully our efforts helped in the indictment and conviction of Abramoff. Of course, we will never know that for certain. What we do know is that he is currently incarcerated for defrauding the Indian tribes, conspiracy, and corruption of public officials.

These days, 'cooperation' is expensive. Very expensive. In our case, it involved retaining a K Street Law Firm to pore over twelve years worth of my congressional records and correspondance. Twelve years of household records is bad enough, but Congress runs on paper and e-mails, and it was literally thousands of pages and hundreds of computer records that had to be examined, evaluated, and sometimes redacted for security reasons. Then you can add the administrative costs, phone calls, and 'face time' the attorneys spent with the DOJ. When all was said and done, the legal bill was over a half a million dollars. And that was to 'cooperate' with the DOJ!

In the end, we were completely vindicated. In a letter from our attorneys, they informed us that the Department of Justice had advised us that we "are not now the target, subject or focus [of] any DOJ investigation, case or other proceeding." Essentially, it was a complete and total vindication that we had done nothing wrong at all - which is exactly what we had been saying all along.

We used all of what was left in the campaign account to partially pay the legal bills, but came up $285,000 short. Recently, the law firm proposed to us that they could accept half the outstanding debt as payment, so we now owe $142,500. But, there's a catch (there always is one). It has to be paid before January 31, 2010.

So, we established the Freedom In Truth Trust solely to help retire this outstanding bill. It's not a political thing, so there's no limit on what you could contribute. On the downside, it's not tax-deductible either.

I have always tried to be honest and aboveboard in my dealings in private as well as publicly in Congress. As you can see from the above, even being cooperative, honest, and truthful can be twisted against you. So, I am asking for your financial help in getting the legal debt resolved. After that is done, other important decisions can be made with a clear field ahead. As is often said: One step at a time.

Please help if you can. You can contribute online via our secure server or you can send a check payable to "The Freedom in Truth Trust".

Direct Questions, Honest Answeres
Were you really the largest recipient of Abramoff money?
No. An accurate review of the FEC records indicates that my campaign and leadership PAC ranked ninth, well behind such notable entities as the Democratic National Committee, the Democrat Senate Campaign Committee, and the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee, to name just three.

Of course, once a charge is made, it is difficult to get a correction from media outlets - much less political opponents - who will continue to spew false charges if it inflicts the political damage they desire. Expect to see this false charge again in the days ahead.
Could you explain the whole 'skybox' thing?
The use of skyboxes for fundraising events is a common practice. Typically, use of the skybox is either an "in-kind" campaign donation, or the campaign must reimburse the entity that provides it.

The problem was that Abramoff's associates never got back to us with an accurate cost estimate for the events in question, despite repeated requests from my campaign.

Much later, as the walls started closing in on him, he sent some outrageously expensive estimate, so we consulted the FEC and with their guidance, made payments on expenses to the host tribes, in accordance with campaign regulations.

In other words, we undertook our best effort to resolve any questions and cooperated with the Federal Election Commission. In turn, the FEC issued no citations, nor levied any fine, so we resolved the question to the FEC's satisfaction.
What about that $100,000 you supposedly paid to your wife?
My wife Mary was an employee of TEAMPAC, and she received a monthly paycheck. Simple math takes the "oomph" out of this charge. Think of it this way: if someone is paid $20,000 annually for five years, that totals $100,000! Pretty cheap for office help. Also, these were not taxpayer funds!
Are you going to run for office again?
That's under active consideration, but I cannot do it without retiring this debt. Imagine the ready-made campaign controversy that would result if the debt remained unpaid. It would obscure the vital issues we need to discuss in 2010.

Donate Today Harry Reid has sold out to the liberal special interests and used pork projects to buy the votes of Democrat Senators with our tax dollars. He's spent millions of campaign dollars claiming to be the most powerful U.S. Senator in our state's history. But he's used that power to make taxpayers pay for abortions, raise the cost of health care, and dramatically increase our national debt.

Harry Reid knows I'm the proven conservative who can kick him out of the Senate. He'll lose the power he covets and his ability to do any more damage to America's taxpayers. I'm the proven conservative who beats him by ten percentage points and I'm the only conservative who according to recent polls would beat him with more than 50% of the vote!

With December 31st quickly approaching, we face our first major reporting deadline to send a clear message that the American people want to kick Harry Reid out of power. Will you join us in kicking Harry Reid out of the Senate by making your contribution of $50, $100, $250, $500 or more now, before the end of the quarter on December 31st?

I'm reaching out to you, because it's essential we post the highest possible fundraising numbers. Harry Reid, the media and even the far left will look to our fourth quarter fundraising report to judge the strength of our opposition to Reid and his Democrat majority in Congress.

The government take over of health care is Harry Reid's plan - and he is proud of it. But you and I both know that this radical, big government scheme will have terrible consequences on American families, and I guarantee you this bill will be Harry Reid's "Waterloo."

Thanks to Reid's strong-arming and selling of pork projects, the Democrat majority in Congress is imposing a government take over of health care that will limit our ability to choose our doctors, decimate the quality of our health care, astronomically raise our taxes and force taxpayers to help pay for abortions.

Unseating the liberal Senate Majority Leader will not be easy. Harry Reid has proven time and again that he's not afraid to take and spend liberal special interest money on his campaign. Make no mistake; the radical left will work hard to keep him in power.

We need to send a clear message with our December 31st reporting deadline that we want to kick Harry Reid out of power. Please follow this link immediately to contribute $50, $100, $250, $500 or more before midnight on December 31st.

Americans have had enough of Harry Reid's selfish ways. Times are beyond tough, but Harry Reid has chosen to make passing the Congressional Democrat's radical agenda into law his top priority instead of providing relief to America's families.

We must kick Harry Reid out of the Senate! If I am fortunate enough to be elected to the U.S. Senate, I will proudly work to defend life and prevent taxpayer dollars from being used to fund abortion. I will actively work to protect our 2nd Amendment rights. I will consistently vote against pork spending and will work to roll back the growth of government. I am opposed to any tax increases. Soon after announcing my candidacy I signed the Americans for Tax Reform pledge to not raise taxes.

December 31st marks our first major reporting deadline, and we need your financial support to post the strongest possible numbers. Please follow this link now to make a generous contribution to before midnight on Thursday, December 31st.

Thank you in advance for your support, and have a happy New Year.

Sincerely,

Sue Lowden

Believe it or not, that's what many progressives are saying. Case in point:

Like any good progressive, I've gone from admiration to hope to disappointment to anger when it comes to this president. Now I'm fast getting to rage.

How much rage? I find myself thinking that the thing I want most from the 2010 elections is for his party to get absolutely clobbered, even if that means a repeat of 1994. And that what I most want from 2012 is for him to be utterly humiliated, even if that means President Palin at the helm. That much rage.

Yeah, we're pretty mad at him too, dude, but for the opposite reason. Read this article, he thinks Obama isn't liberal ENOUGH. Perhaps Chairman Mao reincarnated is what he's looking for. Things aren't looking good for the Boy King when even his "progressive" socialist brethren are mad at him.

Get a load of
this guy, he also thinks Obama needs to be pulled more to the left (as if that were possible):

So, our only hope is to move the island. We have to move his center. If we can move what he perceives to be the center, he will naturally flow to it. In Lost, when they move the island they move across time. In our case, when we move the island we need to move across the political spectrum.

Right now, Obama perceives the center of the country to be somewhere between Dick Cheney and Harry Reid. Do you know where that leaves him? Joe Lieberman. That's why we're in the sorry shape we're in now.

Read the whole article, if you can stand it. He makes excuse after excuse for Obama...but the best line is this one:

The reality is that Howard Dean is a moderate.

Yep, this is the mindset we're dealing with. God help us.

AMAC vs. AARP - David vs. Goliath

There are two organizations representing citizens 50 plus.

AMAC, the Association of Mature American Citizens has 10’s of thousands of members

AARP has 26 million Members.

The leadership of AARP has proven themselves to be a liberal leaning group that endorsed expensive Obamacare, without the consent of their members.

AMAC (pronounced A- Mack) is one of the leading groups fighting against President Obama’s health care initiative. AMAC has organized “Tea Parties” and participated in rallies against expanding government and raising taxes.

AMAC is pro-life, pro Second Amendment, and thinks government has grown too large and powerful. AMAC feels our elected officials are ignoring the will of the people. The proof of this can be seen in the way Congressmen and Senators have been treating their constituents at the various town hall meetings.

We need more members so we can have more clout with office holders. We need to counter the influence of AARP when they say they are speaking on behalf of Americans aged 50 and over.

AMAC will lead this fight knowing we can win, if you and other patriot Americans stand behind us.

Please go to www.amac.us and sign on as a member. For $12.50/year, you will know we are working on your behalf to stop socialism in America.

David conquered Goliath- and AMAC can beat AARP. Please check out our website and if you agree with us, please tell your friends.

I certainly hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! We had a wonderful day, our family is so blessed.

Back to the ugly business at hand, the Obama administration's desire to take over our lives, starting with our health care.
National Review has great coverage of this debacle. See especially the NR blog "Critical Condition." Check out that Nancy Pelosi slip:
Members have been in virtual lockdown since Nancy Pelosi reportedly confided, after the tumultuous town-hall meetings in August, “We have to keep members away from their constituents so we can pass this bill.”
That woman is a piece of work, isn't she? If only we could get the "media" in this country to cover this honestly. Heck, look at the anger now regarding this, can you imagine what it would be like if our so-called journalists would actually do their job instead of being slobbering Obama sycophants?

"If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin." -- Samuel Adams, 1776

If you want to see how Obamacare will hit you and your family in the wallet, look no further than the inside of your medicine cabinet. Open the cabinet door and you may see an antihistamine such as Claritin for allergies, pain relief medicine such as Tylenol or Excedrin. . . All of these items in your cabinet have two things in common. One is that they are classified as “over the counter” (OTC) medicines and available without a doctor’s prescription. The other is that if you pay for any of these items with money in your flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) – and according to this guide from FSA administrator Benesyst , all of these are eligible expenses — you will face an effective tax increase of up to 40% on these items in the health care bill that passed the U.S. House of Representatives and is poised to pass the U.S. Senate.

“College football is bringing big bucks to K Street as lawmakers take aim at dismantling the Bowl Championship Series,” says a story in Politico. A six-figure sum is being spent lobbying what really shouldn’t be a government issue. Millions more are being spent on other issues affecting college sports. There’s even a PlayOff PAC that gives money to politicians who take an active stance on college football playoff reform.

New infections continued to drop, down this week to only 391 reported by CDC-monitored labs, compared to 1,370 just two weeks before and 11,470 at the height of the epidemic. So that’s a plummet of over 96% from the height. Deaths and hospitalizations are less than half those of last week, and while formerly the CDC refrained from releasing exact numbers it’s now doing so

Call Now to Stop Obamacare Plan!

Dear Friend,

We MUST keep the pressure up on Congress, we can NEVER surrender.

Even though it's Christmas, Obama and his allies are plotting to ram through their socialistic health plan.

In the dark of the night, Harry Reid and Senate Democrats rammed through Congress a health care BILL that will radically change our health care system.

Because hanging in the balance is the future of America – freedom or socialism. The League of American Voters needs your help to fight Obama Care every single step of the way.

As you know, Dick Morris, our chief strategist, crafted our powerful campaign that caused the Democrats to modify their plans, especially in the Senate. In the Senate plan, they did away with the "Public Option" which would have bankrupted private insurers, they did away with giving Medicare for everyone over 55 which would HAVE enormously increased the public debt, they did away with a 5% "rich" income tax to fund Obamacare.

But this does not mean the Democrats won't plan to sneak through these terrible proposals when the final bill comes out of the House and Senate conference.

We know that liberal Democrats are scheming to “revisit” the Public Option.

“It will be revisited,” boasts leftist Democrat Senator Tom Harkin. “This is just the beginning. … What we’re building is a starter home, not a mansion. And guess what? We have room for expansions and additions later on.”

Former DNC Chair Howard Dean: “I would let this thing go to conference committee, and let’s see if we can fix it some more.”

“We now have to fight for the changes in the conference committee,” added SEIU union boss Andy Stern.

But let there be no doubt. Even without the “Public Option,” Harry Reid’s bill creates a government-run plan where non-elected bureaucrats are empowered to stand between patients and doctors.

It is still a disaster for healthcare in America. It must be defeated!

  • Medicare is slashed by $470 billion, including cuts to Medicare home health care services. These are cuts the Congressional Budget Office says will "reduce access to care or diminish the quality of care” for seniors
  • Medicare Advantage is cut $120 billion for seniors
  • Raises taxes by $518 billion, including new taxes on the middle class, new taxes on wheelchairs, pacemakers, heart valves, and other medical devices, and new taxes on individuals and employers who do not retain the type of health care plans that Washington dictates
  • Senate Democrats’ bill creates an Independent Medicare Advisory Board (IMAB) of non-elected government bureaucrats, empowered to cut Medicare providers limited access to care for seniors
  • The bill forces a huge unfunded federal mandate on states to expand Medicaid, with the exception of those states where Democrat senators cut “sweetheart deals” with Obama and Reid for their vote

If you live in any of the following states, you MUST call your Senator NOW. If you don’t live in one of these states, call anyway!

Tell them you are a member of the League of American Voters and that you oppose both the Reid and Pelosi Obamacare plans.

Call the U.S. Senate switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask to be connected.

Tell the Senate you OPPOSE the Obamacare Plan and that they must vote AGAINST it!

Also, we here at the League along with Dick Morris are already planning our next phase: fighting the final bill.

Remember, it takes just ONE senator to say "NO" and vote against the bill to stop Obamacare dead in its tracks.

Please help us prepare for our next TV ad campaign -- Please Donate to Stop Obama Care -- Go Here Now.

Thank you for saving our healthcare system!

Yours,

Bob Adams
Executive Director
League of American Voters

The union bosses spent well over a Billion Dollars installing forced unionism proponents in the White House and Congress last year, and they’re gearing up to do it again in 2010.

But much of the union bosses’ electioneering is 100 percent illegal. Read this urgent message to learn more about their illegal political schemes – and what can be done to fight back.

Dear Jim,

I urge you to follow the link below to sign your 2010 FAIR ELECTIONS PETITION without delay.

Because it could be THE KEY to ensuring that the 2010 elections are fair and untainted... and here’s why.

You may not immediately recognize the name of Philip Wakeman. But Philip Wakeman is a Foundation-assisted worker whose story lies at the center of an alleged illegal union PAC money laundering scheme that I believe is all too common across the nation.

A scheme that goes well beyond Wakeman’s own story and his own union...

... and one that goes all the way to the highest levels of power in state capitals –- and in Washington.

Wakeman’s story began in 2006 when he gave a check for $429 to the National Postal Mail Handlers Union (NPMHU) for the full amount of his annual union dues. He even wrote “Union Dues” on the check.  At the time, he had no idea that union bosses would illegally launder his membership dues directly into their political coffers.

But, two years later through an unrelated Internet search, he discovered his name disclosed as making a contribution, in the exact amount of his NPMHU union dues, to the union’s Political Action Committee (PAC).

Why?  Because apparently NPMHU union bosses had illegally diverted Wakeman’s dues payment to the union PAC.

That means Wakeman’s annual dues were misused to help elect politicians favored, not by Wakeman, but by the union bosses!  Naturally, Wakeman was furious.  But his complaints fell on deaf ears -- until he received free legal aid from the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation.

A large part of our mission is to defend workers like Philip Wakeman whose forced union dues are used illegally to help union bosses pad the coffers of their favorite politicians.

Foundation attorneys immediately filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for him.

But our objective is not only justice for Mr. Wakeman.

It is also to bring attention to, and to combat, a major reason why so much is spent on so many pro-forced unionism politicians each election year.

And the reason is this:  The millions of dollars they receive in illegally confiscated contributions and expenditures funneled to them through union PACs and other entities like the NPMHU bosses did!

Yes, federal law is clear!  It is illegal to misuse a worker's forced union dues for political purposes. But Foundation attorneys believe that Mr. Wakeman’s story is not unusual.  In fact, it may be the norm!

That’s why the Wakeman case is so important:  It might just be the crack that breaks the dam -- exposing a pervasive funding scheme used by the union bosses’ nationwide forced-dues political operation.

And, make no mistake:  The union bosses will pull out all the stops in 2010 to divert every dime they can from the workers they claim to represent to politicians who favor forced unionism.

Why?  Because the Big Labor Bosses are angry that Barack Obama’s first year in office has, so far, failed to fully deliver on their forced unionism agenda.

An anti-individual freedom, job-killing agenda that includes:
  1. DENYING workers the right to a secret ballot when voting on whether or not they want to be part of a union (this is at the top of Big Labor’s agenda, because it would enable union organizers to forcibly unionize millions more workers into dues-paying union ranks);

  2. BANNING companies in effect from running their businesses during a strike –- a right they have held for roughly 70 years;
  3. ATTACKING all 22 state Right to Work laws, which make union membership and union dues voluntary;

  4. INSTALLING hundreds of Big Labor cronies on the federal courts, throughout the Department of Labor, the National Labor Relations Board, and other federal agencies;

  5. EXPANDING the definition of “employee” and narrowing the definition of management, thereby placing more employees under union boss control; and

  6. FORCING state and local governments under the monopoly control of union bosses as the monopoly bargaining agents for police, firefighters, and other first responders.
Each of these steps would dramatically increase the political influence, money, and power of the Big Labor Bosses.

Each would enhance Big Labor’s ability to help President Barack Obama and the majority in Congress impose a crippling forced unionism agenda on America.

Each would ensure that Big Labor can elect even more politicians favoring forced unionism in the future...

... and each of these draconian forced unionism power grabs is on the table right here and now in Washington!

But the Big Labor Bosses have been frustrated so far.

Because they thought that the election of Barack Obama would guarantee all they wanted and more.

But then came the “Tea Parties,” the Town Hall protests, and average fed-up citizens like Philip Wakeman...

... and the union bosses’ forced unionism agenda has been slowed.

This has infuriated the Big Labor Bosses. And they are determined to elect and support as many far left politicians as possible in 2010 to ensure that their full agenda is passed, once and for all.

That’s why Philip Wakeman’s story is so important.

Because we suspect there will be hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of workers who will experience similar scams in 2010 as union kingpins squeeze every dime out of them to divert to their favored far left candidates.

That’s why the Foundation is planning a major offensive on many fronts to fight back.

And that’s why I hope you will respond to it by signing your 2010 FAIR ELECTIONS PETITION.

Foundation attorneys have laid out to the FEC a compelling case for Philip Wakeman and against the NPMHU union.  But, we must also mobilize and use the anger of the American people building against Big Labor Bosses who want more and more power, and the politicians they are buying to achieve this power.

Case in point:  The bailouts of General Motors and Chrysler were nothing less than a blatant political payback by Obama to the Big Labor Bosses of the UAW and the AFL-CIO who used hundreds of millions in compulsory dues to help elect him!

Your PETITION will help us make this point clear to the FEC.

It will also help us in the larger court of public opinion as we seek to expose the corrupt, and often illegal, misuse of union dues by Big Labor Bosses to increase their own power and wealth.

Because we will be fighting in both the court of law AND in the court of public opinion throughout 2010...

... and our track record on both is well known, long, and impressive.

In fact, when it comes to exposing and battling the Big Labor Bosses in courts of law, and stopping illegal use of union dues for political purposes, our record is second to none.

Foundation attorneys have gone toe to toe with union lawyers at the U.S. Supreme Court 14 times, to say nothing of literally thousands of cases in other courts.

Our precedent-setting Supreme Court cases have included:
  • CWA Union v. Beck: Foundation attorneys won a landmark Supreme Court ruling forbidding union bosses from spending workers’ forced dues on politics and lobbying. Of course, as we have seen in the Wakeman case and many other cases, the Big Labor Bosses try to ignore that ruling.  Which is why we will continue to slam them in 2010 with lawsuits to remind them that the Beck decision is all too real -- and that they must follow the law!

  • Davenport v. Washington Education Association (WEA): This pivotal case appealed a Washington State Supreme Court ruling granting union bosses the right to spend on politics the confiscated dues of nonmembers without obtaining their consent. The lower court’s decision even threatened Right to Work laws banning forced union dues in all 22 states where they now apply. And, if it had been upheld, it would have been a disaster for hard-working Americans, and a major, historic boost for the union bosses.  But we fought it in the Supreme Court –- and we won.

  • Ysursa v. Pocatello Education Association: Foundation attorneys helped win another major ruling before the Supreme Court in 2009 overturning a ruling from the rogue 9th Circuit that sharply limited an Idaho law banning automatic payroll deductions for union PACS’ coffers.
We have also recently launched a campaign to expose how union dues were being transferred by union officials into the coffers of the odious far left group, the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN)...

... and launched additional FEC complaints against two of the nation’s largest unions, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the National Education Association (NEA), urging the commission to investigate how union dues wound up in the campaign war chests of Barack Obama and other pro-forced unionism candidates in 2008.

But -- while our attorneys and grassroots team are experts at taking on the Big Labor Bosses and their forced unionism agenda in both the court of law and the court of public opinion -- we cannot succeed on our own.

To the contrary -- we urgently need both the grassroots AND financial support of freedom-loving Americans like you.

Which is why, in addition to your signed 2010 FAIR ELECTIONS PETITION...

Your special tax-deductible gift will also help with ongoing operating and legal costs that are –- believe me -- significant.

The bottom line is, it costs a lot of money to keep attorneys available to help workers fight back, carry out legal research, draft legal documents, hire security to guard workers who are threatened, conduct depositions, present oral arguments, and pay for court costs.

But that’s what is needed to mount strong cases and see them through to victory.  To raise these funds, the Foundation relies entirely on voluntary donations from folks like you.

And believe me, the Foundation has a long history of using these resources for maximum benefit.  I hope you understand -- and that you will respond without delay.

So again, please sign the 2010 FAIR ELECTIONS PETITION.

After you've signed, please make a generous contribution of $50, $100 or more to the National Right to Work Foundation.

Because your donation is fully tax deductible, I am hopeful you will even consider making a larger donation of $250 or more.

But please, try to send at least $50 along with your signed 2010 FAIR ELECTIONS PETITION.

The National Right to Work Foundation is fighting to give rank-and-file workers a voice against forced unionism.

This fight will be more important than ever in 2010.

Nothing would cripple Big Labor’s agenda faster than ending forced union dues for politics.  I hope you agree.  And that I hear back from you without delay.

Please, sign your 2010 FAIR ELECTIONS PETITION and make an urgently needed tax-deductible gift to the National Right to Work Foundation.

Sincerely,

Mark Mix

A message to all members of Patriotic Resistance

From the Desk of:

Steve Elliott, Grassfire Nation

Sen. Whitehouse (D-RI), believing victory is at hand,
heaped burning coals on those opposed to ObamaCare.
         See below.

Dear Patriot,

Sen. Whitehouse opened up his Senate floor speech spewing venom
directed squarely at you and me!

Quoting an article, which called those of us opposing the
massive government takeover of our health care system the
"lunatic fringe." He took it a step further labeling us
as "birthers, right-wing militias and Aryan groups."

With passage of ObamaCare perhaps imminent, Whitehouse feels
emboldened, deciding it's ok to demonize the opposition --
the American taxpayer, you and me!

By supporting a socialized health care bill fraught
with earmarks, payoffs to Senators, aggressive
Medicare cuts, massive tax increases, penalties
and increased insurance premiums Whitehouse and
others are putting their political heads on the
         chopping block...

Especially considering recent polling suggests a growing
majority of Americans oppose ObamaCare.

++ "Let the Fax Blizzard Commence"!

After yesterday's message, tens of thousands of faxes were
scheduled for delivery to Senate offices -- each one opposing
every aspect of ObamaCare and those who support it's
socialist intent.

Now in the waning hours leading to this historic vote, I'm
forecasting a deluge of faxes for EVERY Senate office on
Capitol Hill!

Click here right now to schedule your faxes to the Senate:
http://www.grassfire.com/1122/offer.asp?ref_id=500052

Let's make sure that Whitehouse and every other
Senator who supported ObamaCare knows that the "lunatic fringe",
and the right-wing militia, birthers are weighing-in and
holding each one accountable for this horrific bill.

Through our Faxfire fax system, you have the potential to
impact EVERY SENATOR with a personal message -- prior to
the final vote!

I urge you to take action right now either using our custom
fax delivery system or by downloading our fax letters and
numbers to fax on your own.

Whatever method you choose, take action by clicking here now:

http://www.grassfire.com/1122/offer.asp?ref_id=500052

+ + Action #2: Call your two Senators

After scheduling your faxes, call your two Senators.

Locate your Senators here:
http://www.congressmerge.com/onlinedb/index.htm

When calling, consider using these talking points:

--Identify yourself and the state in which you live.
--Demand to see and read the bill before the final vote.
--Tell them you oppose ObamaCare and urge them to vote "NO".
--Express your outrage over the earmarks, the mandates,
the oppressive taxes in the plan and the government takeover
  of yet another industry.

Finally, take a few additional moments to contact Sen. Whitehouse's
office. I believe he would love to receive warm holiday greetings
from thousands of "birthers, right-wing militia, Aryan supporters
and those of us among the "lunatic fringe".

Senator Whitehouse: (202) 224-2921

Thank you for standing with GrassfireNation.

https://secure.conservativedonations.com/rm_obamacare3/?a=3466

ALERT: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid won his first cloture votes on the ObamaCare bill, the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" -- but the bill can STILL BE STOPPED!

You read that right: the liberal Democrats snuck through the first votes on their socialist health care bill -- IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS!

That means that TODAY, it's up to YOU AND ME to STOP the government takeover of health care in America -- before the next vote!

TELL THE SENATE TO REJECT SOCIALIZED HEALTH CARE
BETTER KNOWN AS "OBAMACARE":

SEND YOUR FAXES NOW!

For the past two weeks, we’ve been leading the efforts of our members to contact every single Senator, to DEMAND that they reject Harry Reid’s socialistic ObamaCare bill -- and as a result, over THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND faxes have FLOODED those Senate offices ALL DAY AND NIGHT!

We’ve been able to keep the pressure on both Democrats and Republicans, letting them know that WE ARE WATCHING THEM and that we DEMAND they put a STOP to this radical monstrosity of a bill. And despite the fact that we lost the first votes, the good news is… we ARE having an effect on them, and WE CAN STILL DEFEAT THIS BILL

The bill passed through so far STILL has to clear more hurdles -- and despite the fact that all 60 Democrats and Republicans voted for the first clotures, all 60 of them have NOT committed to voting for the next cloture vote!

This means that we can STILL defeat it in the Senate -- IF we can overwhelm every Senator with our demands to STOP it!

With these early-morning votes, Harry Reid successfully moved the Obamacare bill forward. But now, he has to survive another cloture vote to end the GOP filibuster on this bill -- and again, he’s going to need all 60 votes to save the bill!

Remember, this "new" bill is the result of the "secret deal" that substituted for the decoy that was the 2,074-page bill the Senate has been debating for the past three weeks. So is this bill any better?

NO -- IT STINKS.

  • The bill slashes hundreds of billions from Medicare to fund a new government program - cuts to hospitals, nursing homes, and hospices that care for our seniors – cuts that a pair of Senate Democrats voted repeatedly to reject.
  • The bill includes massive tax increases on American families and businesses at a time of double digit unemployment.
  • The bill breaks the President’s pledge that no American earning under $250,000 would see their taxes increase under this plan….a pledge that five Democrats voted to uphold just last Tuesday.
  • The bill allows for the funding of abortions, violating the longstanding policy of the Hyde amendment. The language is significantly weaker than Nelson-Stupak amendment which seven Senate Democrats and 64 House Democrats supported.
  • The bill includes a massive new entitlement -the CLASS Act - which the Democrat chairman of the Budget Committee described as a Ponzi scheme. A bipartisan majority (including 11 Democrats) voted to strike the CLASS Act -- and they should withhold their support.
  • The bill will impose massive burdens to many states at a time when states are already struggling. At the same time, it gives special treatment to a select few states, so that taxpayers in Virginia, Arkansas, and Ohio, will pay higher taxes to subsidize the Medicaid programs of favored few (Nebraska Massachusetts, and Vermont).

We MUST NOT lose this fight. Harry Reid DOES NOT have a guarantee of all 60 votes he needs to enact cloture and force a vote on his bill -- but you can BET he’s doing everything he can to GET those final one or two! If we can STOP him from getting them -- that means THE BILL WOULD DIE!

TELL THE SENATE TO REJECT SOCIALIZED HEALTH CARE
BETTER KNOWN AS "OBAMACARE":

SEND YOUR FAXES NOW!

TAKE ACTION: Here is the "Countdown To America’s Doom" that we MUST STOP:

--WEDNESDAY, DEC 23rd -- 1 pm -- Cloture vote on overall bill -- WE CAN STOP THE BILL DEAD ON THIS VOTE!

--THURSDAY, CHRISTMAS EVE -- 7 pm -- Final passage vote on health care reform -- THEY ONLY NEED 51 VOTES TO PASS IT THEN!

DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED -- there are still several Democrats that we know of, who STILL might not vote for cloture. At the same time, there are a few liberal GOP RINOs who might "jump ship" and vote Yes. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE SENATORS NEED TO KEEP HEARING FROM US TO BE CONVINCED!

We CANNOT let the radical liberals in Congress -- and the White House -- force this plan for socialized health care on the American people! That’s why we’ve set up our website to enable you to send a strong message to every single member of the U.S. Senate, OPPOSING this outrageous plan.

For about what it would cost you in time and telephone charges, you can send Blast Faxes to Democrats, Republicans, Independents -- EVERYONE in the U.S. Senate, DEMANDING that they REJECT this socialized health care plan NOW!

TELL THE SENATE TO REJECT SOCIALIZED HEALTH CARE
BETTER KNOWN AS "OBAMACARE":

SEND YOUR FAXES NOW!

This fight CAN BE WON! Please, take action right away to STOP this bill in the U.S. Senate!

Sincerely,

William Greene, President

A message to all members of Patriotic Resistance

From the Desk of:
Steve Elliott, Grassfire Nation

We are hearing that the battle is over - that the
Senate will pass ObamaCare later this week!

But this battle is far from over - (Details below)

Dear Patriots:

Senate Majority Leader Reid would have you believe ObamaCare
is a done deal in the Senate, and he may be right.

But I'm not going home until this abomination becomes law, and
I want to make certain EVERY member of our amazing team is fully
engaged!

In fact, in the hours leading to the final vote, I'm calling on
Grassfire Nation to blitz EVERY Senate office with ONE MILLION
petitions, faxes and phone calls...

The two-feet of snow dumped on Capitol Hill will
pale with the blizzard of protest we are unleashing on EVERY
SENATE OFFICE right now...

Click here to take immediate action with me:

http://www.grassfire.com/1122/offer.asp?ref_id=500052

++ Reid Used Your Tax Dollars to Buy Support!

Chicago-style politics was in full form as Reid used your tax
dollars to payoff Sens. Landrieu, Lieberman and Nelson. These select
"holdout" Senators stand to reap a bountiful harvest of YOUR
tax dollars for their support of the ObamaCare plan!

As the seedy details of the bill begin to ooze to the surface,
here are just a few of the "bribes" Reid used to gain Senate support...

--$100 million for an unnamed health care facility.
--One state gets to expand Medicaid at no cost --
while taxpayers in the other 49 states foot the bill.
--One insurance company, located in a swing Senator's
home state has special "untold" benefits from the bill.

This is why we must continue to fight, and use whatever
means we can to expose and defeat this kind of graft, this kind
of raping of our nation and its people!

To help right now, click here:
http://www.grassfire.com/1122/offer.asp?ref_id=500052

++ ONE MILLION petitions Opposing ObamaCare!

Just hours ago, history was made at Grassfire Nation when we
surpassed ONE MILLION petitions. Frankly, it couldn't have come
at a better time!

Right now our couriers are flooding the halls of the Senate
delivering petitions to EVERY SENATE office each carrying
a resonating message of solidarity to these rogue Senators!

But that's just the flurries - I'm calling on you to help me
create a blizzard!

+ + Action #1: Fax Your Senators Right Now

In addition to ONE MILLION petitions, I'm calling
on ALL members of our team to "white out" Capitol Hill through a
blistering Fax initiative!

Click here right now, and Grassfire Nation will deliver your
faxes directly to your two Arizona Senators and other
key Senators who need to hear from you!

Go here now to see the faxes:

http://www.grassfire.com/1122/offer.asp?ref_id=500052

Through our Faxfire fax system, you have the potential to
impact EVERY SENATOR with a personal message -- prior to the
final vote!

I urge you to take action right now either using our custom
fax delivery system or by downloading our fax letters and
numbers to fax on your own.

Whatever method you choose, take action!

+ + Action #2: Call your two Senators

After scheduling your faxes, call your two Senators.

http://www.congressmerge.com/onlinedb/index.htm

When calling, consider using these talking points:

--Identify yourself and the state in which you live.
--Demand to see and read the bill before the final vote.
--Tell them you oppose ObamaCare and urge them to vote "NO".
--Finally express your outrage over the earmarks, the mandates,
the oppressive taxes in the plan and the government takeover
  of yet another industry.

Finally, Darla, after taking aggressive action, alert your
friends. This isn't about just you and me. ObamaCare stands to
adversely impact EVERY American, every family.

Forward this message to 30-40 friends and impress upon them the
need to take immediate action with you by clicking here:

http://www.grassfire.com/1122/offer.asp?ref_id=500052

There are storm clouds forming over Capitol Hill, and with your
help we can unleash a blizzard of historic proportions!

Thank you for standing with GrassfireNation and ResistNet.com

Allen West for Congress

Dear Fellow Patriot,

Do you believe our country and its values are under constant attack by our enemies?

Do you think too many of our leaders in Washington are not doing enough to stand up and fight for what is right?

I sure do.

After serving for over two decades in the military, I've seen our enemies in action. I watched in Iraq and Afghanistan as our dedicated young men and women fought to keep our country strong and free.

If only our leaders in Congress showed the same courage and determination to defeat our enemies as those fine young members of our Armed Services do.

I know you'll agree with me that our leaders seem to be out of touch and straying from the agenda we need to stay strong.

We've watched while Congress is debating a national takeover of our healthcare system.

We've seen Congress literally throw away billions of dollars bailing out Wall Street executives while unemployment grows on a daily basis.

And after another terrorist attack occurred on our own soil at Fort Hood, our leaders once again have put their heads in the sand and are trying to explain away this attack as just an isolated incident by a troubled soldier.

Join The Allen West ArmyI don't know about you, but I'm tired of watching opportunities to stand up for freedom pass us by.

So I decided to run for Congress.

I'm running as a proud, strong conservative who believes America is the world's best hope for maintaining and growing freedom across the globe.

I believe that our government's spending is out of control and I'll oppose pork barrel projects that do nothing but line the pockets of politicians and lobbyists.

I will bring my traditional American values to Washington with me. I'm guided by my faith and a strong commitment to family and community.

As a former lieutenant colonel, I'll support military policies that will find our enemies and destroy them before they have a chance to come after us again.

But running for Congress is not an easy task.

I received 45% of the vote last cycle and am ready to get 51% or more this time! My opponent, Congressman Ron Klein, is a classic liberal politician who supports Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank and their policies.

In return, Klein receives literally millions of dollars from liberals and special interest groups from across the country.

But while Klein is supporting nationalizing our healthcare system, out of control spending and his other liberal policies, I'm here in south Florida building a first class grassroots campaign.

The support I've been receiving has been outstanding. We have recruited literally thousands of followers and volunteers ready to carry our message across our district.

We've held healthcare town hall meetings when Congressman Klein refused to debate me on healthcare policy.

But I need more than just grassroots support to defeat Ron Klein. I need your help!

That's why I'm asking you to contribute $35, $50 or even $100 TODAY. Some of my more loyal supporters have given $500 or $1000, but any amount you contribute TODAY will put me one step closer to victory.

Your contribution will help defeat one of Congress' most liberal members and replace him with a conservative who is not afraid to speak up for our values.

It's time for conservatives to join together and put our country back on track to greatness once again. Thank you in advance for your help.

Steadfast and Loyal,

Allen West Signature
LTC (R) Allen B. West

Donate Today Harry Reid has used his power for himself and liberal special interests and has neglected the American people in favor of pushing through a radical, socialist agenda. Reid says that those opposed to his government take over of health care are on the wrong "side of history.' Out-of-touch Harry doesn’t realize that a majority of Americans and a majority of his constituents oppose his health care scheme.

So what’s Harry’s worst nightmare? Losing his power, of course. And he knows that I’m the conservative who can beat him and kick him out of the U.S. Senate. I’m the proven conservative candidate in this race that defeated the state Senate Majority Leader in Harry Reid’s home state. I’m the proven conservative that John Thune’s campaign manager said, 'has what it will take to defeat the Senate Democratic leader."

Will you follow this link now and make a generous contribution of $50, $100, $250, $500 or more now before the end of the quarter on December 31st? We have a hard deadline of December 31, where we MUST demonstrate that people want to kick Harry Reid out of power and that we will have the resources to do it.

The Senate is perilously close to passing a health care bill that will provide taxpayer funds for abortions. Harry Reid’s shepherding of this legislation is reprehensible, and you can mark my words: this health care bill will be his "Waterloo." It’s time to send Harry Reid into retirement and send someone who’ll fight for us to the United States Senate. And that’s why I’m running to be the next U.S. Senator for Nevada. It won’t be an easy feat, but I’m a bit of a risk taker, and I know I’m tough enough to take on the Senate Majority Leader.

Will you follow this link today and make a generous contribution of $50, $100, $250, $500 or more now before the end of the quarter on December 31st?

Polls show me beating Harry Reid in the General Election by as much as 10 points, and I’m the only candidate who garners over 50% of the vote against Harry Reid. I’m the front-runner in this race, and together we can kick Harry Reid out of the Senate.

But I need your support. The end of the quarter is drawing near, and my campaign faces our first major fundraising report deadline. I was the last one to announce my candidacy for this race, so it’s essential that I post the highest possible fundraising numbers to show my opponents that my campaign is strong.

We have a lot of work to do between now and November, and I need your help. This election promises to be expensive. Harry Reid’s allies won’t let him go down easily. So my campaign needs the funds to support an effective campaign apparatus- from bumper stickers and yard signs to advertising space and get-out-the-vote efforts- to bring home victory next fall.

I am the biggest contrast to Reid that you’ll find in this race. I would never allow federal funds to pay for abortions, and I wouldn’t raise your taxes to pay for a health care bill that promises to be a disaster. And I won’t bully my opponents or strong arm my colleagues. I think my record is such that I can run on it and my experience as a business woman.

But I need your support. Please follow this link to give generously to my campaign before the end of the quarter reporting deadline. It’s important to set the pace for next year now, so we can hit the ground running in 2010.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Sincerely,

Sue Lowden

Waking up to this is certainly no fun. Apparently there does not exist a Democrat Senator who possesses any character or truthfulness. They have to know how bad this bill is for America, they don't even know much of what's in it, but what we DO know is awful. Yet, they stick together like a pack of rats, with the Head Rat twisting their arms in order to have his way. They are dismantling our freedom bit by bit, and this is a BIG bit. What a downer.
Cantor predicts that abortion would be the key issue in the House’s debate of the Senate’s bill. Pro-life Rep. Bart Stupak (D., Mich.) “has outlined very clear language” on abortion and “has made it clear that if it’s not included then he will vote against the bill,” he says. “There is a lot of reticence among many moderate Democrats. It’s unfathomable to think that pro-life Democrats would go for the Senate version. They know that the Senate’s bill is a 30-year record-breaking move to allow taxpayer dollars to fund abortion. I can’t imagine any of them supporting it.”
I can. They can be bought, obviously. This will be rammed down our throats because they know what's best for us, of course, and what's best for us is government control over our lives. This just makes me sick.

The vision of Northwest Independent Church Extension is to develop a network of "aggressively evangelistic and Biblically-grounded churches in the growning suburban, urban, and rural communities of Oregon."  To accomplish this, Outreach Oregon was formed, under the direction of Eric Nyborg.  The ministry focuses on training men for ministry and future church plants.

Antioch Bible Church is Outreach Oregon's first project and three other churches - Edgewood Bible Church, Lewis & Clark Bible Church in Astoria, Oregon, and Helvetia Community Church in Washington County, Oregon, are assisting.

There never was any doubt in my mind, actually. The current crop of Democrats doesn't have an ounce of principle. Ben Nelson was just playing a game, I think he intended to vote for this piece of crap legislation all along. They just like to be pursued and get all that media attention Lieberman's the same way. Boy, if ever one was going to sour on watching politics and just walk away and ignore it, this would be the time. My gut has been in a knot all week...even though I'm pretty sure Obama will twist enough arms to get his way and I should just resign myself to it, it's difficult to watch my great country going to hell in a handbasket.

I hate to be a Debbie Downer at Christmastime, but it is really disheartening to see what the Democrats are doing to our once great institutions, such as the Senate. They are making a mockery of the entire process, see post below. Plus, our president goes to Copenhagen for a photo-op, tinpot dictators mock him (and by extension, the United States), and get standing ovations for it. Geez, that man is such an embarrassment, and he truly does think he's God's gift to the world (or God Himself). Rush is right...every Democrat should have an "L" instead of a "D" after their name, for LIAR.

The Democrats are cheating again. After Tom Coburn tried to slow things down by forcing the Senate clerk to read Bernie Sanders' nearly 800 page amendment regarding single payer, the Democrats break the rules.

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) on Wednesday afternoon withdrew his proposal to create a single-payer insurance system after Republicans compelled Senate clerks to spend hours reading his 767-page amendment to the health care bill as a way to slow down work on the legislation. Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) forced clerks to begin reading the amendment in the Republicans’ first attempt at stalling the health care bill.

How Sanders was able to withdraw his amendment is unclear — under the chamber’s rules it appears that a motion to withdraw would not be in order during the reading of the bill. However, the Senate Parliamentarian — in what a GOP aide called “an incredibly bizarre decision” — ruled Sanders’ request was allowable.

Coburn, who originally forced the reading of the amendment, attempted to call for the “regular order,” which would be the reading of the amendment. However, the presiding officer recognized Sanders long enough for him to withdraw, saying it was within the Senator’s rights to do so.

The rules don't apply to Democrats, only Republicans. If the people in this country would get their faces out of their TV sets and pay attention to some of this, perhaps there would be enough outrage to stop this. The tea party movement has been great, but we need more people to stand up and be heard. The Democrats are going to ruin this country if they are not stopped.

First, the liars:
Senator Joe Lieberman, who has sent Democratic leaders and the White House scrambling to find a compromise that would win his support for legislation overhauling the U.S. health care system, signaled Tuesday that their efforts have nearly succeeded.
Baloney. His opposition is a show and a cry for attention, just like his indignation at the Democrats for their opposition to the Iraq war...boy, they sure are quieter now, aren't they, since their boy is on the throne? Lieberman is not principled, he's a liar. He caucused with the Democrats when they were trying to ensure America's defeat when Bush was at the helm, and he'll stick with them now as they do their level best to tear down the economy of this country. I have zero respect for Lieberman, and even less trust in his integrity.

Now, the
loonies:
An Edinburgh University scientist, Dr. David Reay, contends in a New Scientist article that using toilet paper, washing clothes, and drinking coffee are among the “five eco-crimes we commit every day.”
Nothing worse than an intellectual buffoon, unless he's a greenie too. Eco-wackos sound dumber every time they open their mouths.

And they wonder why so many choose to home school...

Check this out:
“Rethinking Mathematics is divided into four parts. The first part is devoted to a broad view of mathematics that includes historical and cultural implications. Part Two includes nine classroom narratives in which teachers describe lessons they have used that infuse social justice issues into their mathematics curriculum. Included here…an AP calculus lesson on income distribution. The third part contains three detailed classroom experiences/lessons. These include a physical depiction of the inequitable distribution of the world’s wealth, the results of a student investigation into how many U.S. Presidents owned slaves, and a wonderful classroom game called ‘Transnational Capital Auction’ in which students take on the role of leaders of Third World countries bidding competitively for new factories from a multinational corporation.
This kind of crap is what they want to teach our kids, starting in preschool. No wonder we're graduating morons out of our public school system. They feel good about being stupid, though, so no worries. As long as they have the wealth redistribution and hating America stuff down pat, they'll graduate with flying colors. Who cares if they can't add two plus two?

Dear Newsmax Reader:

You helped play a huge role in a major victory.

As Dick Morris explains, the recent Senate bill means that the public option is dead.

This is a very significant victory for our efforts at the League of American Voters.

As you know, we have focused our efforts on exposing the dangers of Obamacare and the public option in key states among key Senators.

That effort paid off big time.

Now, Obama's plan of using the "public option" to put private insurers out of business is D.O.A. This means complete control of government healthcare won't happen under this bill.

But, as Dick explains, there remain real dangers we still need to expose in both the Senate and House bills. Both will still add 30 to 50 million new patients to government healthcare -- at a cost to you of $1 trillion or more.

Both bills will add over a 100 new government agencies to interfere in your healthcare.

Both will gut Medicare by over $500 billion.

We at the League believe that is simply wrong.

We are shocked that many in Congress would take away healthcare benefits from citizens who worked hard and paid in all these years -- in favor of adding tens of millions of new patients -- including illegal aliens to the public rolls.

Our fight with Obamacare is not over. We have demonstrated your support for us is working. We need you to help us finish the job!

Please donate today as we are continuing to run ads in key states and read Dick's column below.

Thank you.

Bob Adams
Executive Director

We Scored Huge Victory,
We Have Them on the Run!

By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN

Faced with a massive center-right uprising, the Obama liberals have been forced to abandon a public option. But in doing so, they are throwing the Medicare program under the bus.

Already, we have been asking how you can treat a growing number of elderly with a Medicare program that this bill cuts by $500 billion dollars. Now, by adding tens of millions of people 55-64 to the program, it makes it even more financially untenable.

Nonetheless, a brief congratulations to all on having seemingly killed the public option. Without our efforts, it would be en route to becoming law. Now there will not be a government owned, government run and government subsidized insurance company that will put all others out of business.

But the current proposal Reid is loudly trumpeting is horribly flawed as well.

It has all of the old flaws (minus the public option) in that the government, through the Secretary of Health, will decide who gets what treatment at what cost and will force rationing through an artificial scarcity on all people, particularly the elderly. And it still has such high premiums for young uninsured people that it will compete with student loans for the honor of being their number one headache.

But the compromise itself is flawed. Here's why:

1. By breeching the historic dividing line between private and public plans now at 65, it opens the door for an expansion of Medicare to become just the single payer we are trying to stop.

2. How can you expand Medicare, potentially to tens of millions more people while cutting it by $500 billion?

3. The cuts in doctor and hospital reimbursement rates written into this bill will force hundreds of thousands of medical providers to refuse to treat Medicare patients. By applying these low reimbursements to patients 55-64, now, you are driving doctors out of the profession and discouraging others from entering it. A permanent scarcity of doctors will be the inevitable result.

4. The expansion of Medicaid to 150% of the poverty level imposes huge new financial burdens on states. It will cost Texas $3 billion, Pennsylvania $2 billion, California $2 billion, and Florida $1.3 billion. It will cost Arkansas and Louisiana $500 million each. This is net of federal aid and only counts the 10% share of expanded Medicaid costs the states must pay.

The federal purchasing program that solicits bids from insurance companies and offers the policies to members of Congress actually functions quite well. It does tend to widen coverage and hold down costs and, at least in its current form, does not pretend to be an insurance company, just a kind of broker.

If the program is unchanged in the new law, its work could be valuable in helping consumers choose adequate and affordable insurance. But who knows whether Reid will try to ramp it up to be a government run and owned insurer?

The strategic message from all of this is that we have them on the run! We have forced Obama to retreat from a very dangerous excursion into socialism. Our pressure is working and we must keep it up.

Please CLICK HERE to donate to roll them back further.

Thanks,

Dick Morris

The fight against Obamacare in the Senate

Dear Friend of Liberty,

I just wanted to update you on the battle against a government takeover of health care. A few weeks ago, the House of Representatives passed its version of Obamacare, and now the Senate is considering its own version. Neither plan offers real solutions that empower patients. Nor do they include common sense solutions like tort reform or allowing consumers to purchase health insurance across state lines. Both versions of Obamacare are filled with billions of dollars in higher taxes, government mandates and $2.5 trillion in new spending. We still have a chance to defeat this big government monstrosity and preserve one-sixth of our economy from being taken over by the federal government.

The battle in the Senate has reached its most critical point, and we need your help to convince a handful of swing voters in the Senate to vote NO on the Senate bill. Sen. Harry Reid is trying to have a vote to end debate next week. These next few days are crucial, and we need your help! We are hearing that this bill is so unpopular that Sen. Reid and Speaker Pelosi want to avoid normal procedure and skip the usual bicameral conference to reconcile the bills. Instead, the Senate bill may be the final version of Obamacare.

Please TAKE ACTION now to start calling them, and remind them that the American people oppose Obamacare. Also, you will note that the targets have local offices in their states, and we are encouraging people to go sit in these offices every day until we stop this bill. This action will send a powerful message across the country that we are serious about defeating this terrible legislation.

DC Rally and Sit-ins!

Next week, on Tuesday, December 15th, we expect thousands of Americans to come back to Washington for a rally at Upper Senate Park at 1:00pm. At the conclusion of the rally, these citizens will go visit their Senators, and some folks will stay until they get a face-to-face meeting. We will sit in these offices all day if we have to, and will not be denied our right to be heard! If you cannot make it to DC for the sit-ins, please organize local senate office sit-ins in your state. Be sure to send us your pictures and videos! If you'd like to participate in any of these efforts, please contact Juan Hernandez at jhernandez@freedomworks.org (202)-942-7672.

Events in Arkansas

Also, if you live in Arkansas where only 28% of the people support Obamacare, we have a few events that you should be aware of. Senator Blanche Lincoln is a key swing vote on Obamacare, and we intend to add some pressure to her next week with events in Hot Springs, Conway and Little Rock. Our Chairman Dick Armey will be speaking at an event in downtown Little Rock on December 15th about health care, cap and trade and the limited government movement. Please contact Juan Hernandez at jhernandez@freedomworks.org (202)-942-7672 for more information about the Arkansas events.

Nationwide Candlelight Vigils

On December 16th we are coordinating with other national groups including Tea Party Patriots and National Taxpayers Union to encourage candlelight vigils outside Senate offices throughout the country. December 16th is the anniversary of the original Boston Tea Party, so we find it fitting that patriots on this day should continue to keep the fire of liberty lit. Please connect with other activists to organize a candlelight vigil if there isn't already one being planned in your area.

The limited government movement has made a huge impact on the public debate over health care this year. We have communicated through thousands of phone calls, emails, faxes and letters to our elected officials. We have marched in town squares, state capitals and right up to the steps of Congress in defiance of big government. Public opinion polls show a sharp decline in support of Obamacare, and the politicians that are pushing it in Congress. The more time that people have to read about the legislation, the less they like it. We are making a huge impact in this debate, and we can't let up now! Thank you for joining us these last few weeks of the year as we rally one more time to say NO to a government takeover of health care, and NO to an ever-increasing federal government.

In liberty,

FOR THOSE OF US WHO REMEMBER ..............

Hollywood  Squares:

These great questions and answers are from the days when '

Q.
Paul, what is a good reason for pounding meat?
A. Paul Lynde:  Loneliness!

(The audience laughed so long and so hard it took up almost 15 minutes of the show!)

Q
. Do female frogs croak?
A. Paul Lynde: If you hold their little heads under
water long enough.

Q.
If you're going to make a parachute jump, at least how high should you be?
A. Charley Weaver: Three days of steady drinking should do it.

Q.
True or False, a pea can last as long as 5,000 years.
A. George Gobel: Boy, it sure seems that way sometimes.

Q.
You'v e been having trouble going to sleep. Are you probably a man or a woman?
A. Don Knotts: That's what's been keeping me awake.

Q.
According to Cosmopolitan, if you meet a stranger at a party and you think that he is attractive, is it okay to come out and ask him if he's married?
A... Rose Marie: No, wait until morning.

Q.
Which of your five senses tends to diminish as you get older?
A. Charley Weaver: My sense of decency.

Q.
In Hawaiian, does it take more than three words to say 'I Love You'?
A. Vincent Price: No, you can say it with a pineapple and a twenty.

Q.
What are 'Do It,' 'I Can Help,' and 'I Can't Get Enough'?
A. George Gobel: I don't know, but it's coming from the next apartment.

Q.
As you grow older, do you tend to gesture more or less with your hands while talking?
A. Rose Marie: You ask me one more growing old question, Peter; and, I'll give you a gesture you'll never forget.

Q.
Paul, why do Hell's Angels wear leather?
A. Paul Lynde: Because chiffon wrinkles too easily.

Q.

A. Rose Marie: Unfortunately, Peter, I'm always safe in the bedroom.

Q.
Can boys join the Camp Fire Girls?
A. Marty Allen: Only after lights out.

Q.
When you pat a dog on its head he will wag his tail. What will a goose do?
A. Paul Lynde: Make him bark?

Q.
If you were pregnant for two years, what would you give birth to?
A. Paul Lynde: Whatever it is, it would never be afraid of the dark.

Q.
According to Ann Landers, is there anything wrong with getting into the habit of kissing a lot of people?
A. Charley Weaver: It got me out of the army.

Q.
It is the most abused and neglected part of your body, what is it?
A. Paul Lynde: Mine may be abused, but it certainly isn't neglected.

Q.
Back in the old days, when Great Grandpa put horseradish on his head, what was he trying to do?
A. George Gobel: Get it in his mouth.

Q.
Who stays pregnant for a longer period of time, your wife or your elephant?

Just recently, UAW union president Ron Gettelfinger angrily lashed out at the National Right to Work Foundation during a nationally televised press conference on the automotive crisis.

He is steaming mad the union bosses have not been able to get their hands on our contributor list, and he hinted that he will ask now his political cronies to help him.

It's absolutely critical you read the briefing below right away.

Dear Jim:

You and I face a crisis.

Union lawyers have served National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation attorneys with papers indicating they will seek a court order to obtain the names and addresses of our financial supporters -- with the ultimate goal to shut us down.

I expect a federal court subpoena to land on my desk at any time.

There's no time to spare.  I need your help immediately.

You see, the union bosses are on the attack right now, having elected a union partisan as President and strong forced unionism majorities in Congress...

...and now they want blood from anyone who opposed them -- and in their minds we are Public Enemy #1

So the union bosses are turning their sights on their longtime nemesis, the National Right to Work Foundation.

They're enraged by the progress we've made in defending rank-and-file workers from forced unionism abuses.  When they move to grab more coercive power or trample on more workers, your Foundation's legal team stands in the breach.

They want the Foundation wiped out -- or at least pinned to the mat by crushing and costly defensive battles -- so that they have a clear path to ram through their agenda unopposed.

That's why the union bosses are dusting off a tactic that Big Labor used for 13 years to try to put us out of business.

From 1973 to 1986, twelve international unions and the giant AFL-CIO tried to force us to hand over the Foundation's supporter list so they could harass and try to drive away those who made our vital program possible.

In fact, Reed Larson, who was then the Foundation's president, was almost thrown in jail twice by a federal judge for violating court orders to breach the confidentiality of Foundation supporters.  And I promise you this -- I am ready to do the same.

But that suit cost the Foundation hundreds of thousands of dollars to defend.  And now, the union bosses have indicated they intend to demand the same thing again from another federal judge.

Let me explain.

A group of non-union orchestra musicians who have been continuously bullied by an AFL-CIO affiliate in the entertainment business recently approached the Foundation for legal aid.

In a nutshell, the union bosses in Hollywood have been on the warpath to destroy the careers of any musician who doesn't join the union and pay full union dues.  Incredibly, they've even threatened arrests.

So Foundation attorneys filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Southern California seeking injunctions against -- and monetary damages from -- the union.  The union lawyers' response just arrived.

They claim the musicians' lawsuit is illegal, alleging that "interested employers have financed this litigation by providing support or financing to the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation..."

It's only a matter of time before I will be served with a union discovery subpoena demanding our contributor list in an attempt to prove this claim.

This is a bombshell.  If the union bosses somehow prevail on this claim, it could shut down our entire legal aid program  -- or at least divert Foundation attorneys into costly defensive legal battles whenever they go to court for union-abused employees.

You know we're going to fight the union bosses' demand for names of contributors with every resource I can muster.  We cannot let them succeed with this tactic.  But union lawyers have war chests of forced dues to spend.  They think they can bleed us dry.

The last time they tried this attack, the union lawyers finally admitted they wanted to send the contributor list to local union chiefs all over the country.  They wanted to make "discreet inquiries" about the contributors in their areas.  You know what that means.

The Foundation's support comes from all kinds of people -- union members, small business folks, and others.  Many of them would be subjected to vicious retaliation if the union bosses could just get their names.

Blacklisting, beatings, bombings, and arson are just a few of the tactics union "enforcers" use against anyone who steps out of line.

So you can see why I'm never going to give an inch in protecting the privacy of our supporters.

But the costs of this fight can be enormous -- and consume all our resources while thousands of employees are left to the mercy of union brass.

That's why I'm establishing a Union Attack Emergency Fund to defend ourselves against union boss attacks on the Foundation and its supporters -- and to keep our entire program going strong.

Frankly, as serious as this already is, I believe this is only the first salvo in a coordinated, multi-pronged war on the Foundation to be waged by Big Labor and the new Obama administration.

In fact, I expect that the union-boss-controlled U.S. Department of Labor will soon bear down on your Foundation, misusing tools in the Landrum-Griffin Act.

And, while we have always been extremely careful about following all tax rules, I fear the Obama IRS may turn our organization upside down with an intrusive audit intended to revoke our advantageous tax status in the future.

We must brace ourselves for an onslaught of attacks.

But, if we don't have the funds to defend ourselves and our critical program against the union bosses' outrageous attack on our constitutional rights, we will be able neither to stop their forced unionism power grabs nor defend the rights of the thousands of employees who depend on the Foundation for help.

That's why I need your help to establish this Union Attack Emergency Fund now.  If everyone helps out, we will reach my initial goal of $400,000.

Please contribute $200 if you can.  I know that may seem like a large amount but I estimate that this and related attacks could drain hundreds of thousands of dollars away from our successful program -- and at the worst possible time.

Or, at least, I hope you'll give $100 or $50.  Please don't delay.  Click here to donate now.

The Foundation's existence could hang in the balance, and it's urgent that I hear from you immediately.  I will be waiting for your reply.  Thank you.

Sincerely,

Mark Mix

When I read this at Michelle Malkin's site, that was my decision.

Eastman Kodak Company is proud of its sponsorship of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). Our support of this educational not-for-profit organization clearly reflects the five Kodak Values:

* Respect for the Dignity of the Individual
* Uncompromising Integrity
* Trust
* Credibility
* Continuous Improvement and Personal Renewal

Well yes, of course. Liberal gay groups are all about "uncompromising integrity," right? Case in point. Kodak's certainly lost a customer here, and I will be sure and tell them why.

Dear Policy Patriots -

Thank you for your support of the Free Our Health Care NOW! www.freeourhealthcarenow.com campaign and our fight against government-run health care. In this week's letter, you'll find out how you can make difference in the battle against government-run health care.

If Democrats Win, Seniors Lose! As reported in the New York Times, included in the Democrats' $460 billion of Medicare cuts is $43 billion in cuts to nursing care and therapy for homebound Medicare beneficiaries. This is critical help which is needed for the health and welfare of our parents and grandparents - to be taken away by the government!

California Model, Rationing of Care! One of the principle problems with government-run health care is that the government is the customer, not you. As a result, health care coverage will be limited to what the government bureaucrats decide, not what you as the patient needs.

This Los Angeles Times article reveals just how quickly health care bureaucrats can sacrifice patient care. In cash-strapped California, public health officials announced this week that the state's government-provided mammogram program, "Every Woman Counts" for low-income women will no longer screen women below age 50. This is what we will be facing in health care, the government will tell us what is allowed.

Officials from the California Department of Public Health claim that the incidence of breast cancer is relatively low in women less than 50. This may be true, but what if you are in that "relatively low" number? We are talking about your life! In California, the government's budgetary concerns, not patient's health, is the determining factor for quality and access to health care. Under ObamaCare government-run health care, budgetary priorities rather than a patient's health determine whether you get the health care you need.

Call Your Senator, Toll-Free! Communicate your displeasure with what they are doing? In less than five minutes, you can be on the phone with your Senator's office, communicating your opposition to government-run health care.

Just follow this Action Army link, enter your information on the right-hand part of the screen and click TAKE ACTION!

You will see a TOLL-FREE NUMBER to reach YOUR elected representatives and a PASSWORD.

Dial the number on a touch-tone phone, enter the password and you'll be connected as quickly as you can say Free Our Health Care NOW!

Your Senators Work for You! Believe it or not, Senators get job performance reviews: they're called elections. For this one-third of the Senators and for every member of the House of Representatives, Election Day is less than eleven short months away.

You have an important part to play in the health care debate: letting your voice be heard. Through the Free Our Health Care Now! Action Army website, communicating with your Senators is easy and convenient. Whether through an email or a phone call, please use this website as a way of letting your elected representatives know that you oppose government-run health care and plan on expressing your dissatisfaction at the polls in the upcoming election.

Senator McCain to AARP Members: It's Time to Cut the Card. Fighting against Medicare cuts, Senator John McCain recently proposed an amendment which would protect senior citizen benefits from the drastic cuts proposed by Congressional Democrats. McCain implored his fellow senators to "preserve the solemn obligations we have made to our seniors." However, to McCain's surprise, the Association for the Advancement of Retired Persons (AARP) opposed the McCain Amendment and, remaining true to its strange bedfellows, supported drastic cuts for seniors.

In a scathing assault on AARP's infidelity, Senator McCain pointed to numerous AARP statements from the past renouncing Medicare cuts, including one as recently as just a few years ago. Clearly disappointed, McCain concluded by saying, "Take your AARP card, cut it in half and send it back. They've betrayed you." Click here to see video of the speech.

For those of us who believe in free markets, entrepreneurship, and in trusting free people more than government to solve our problems, last week was a great week.

Talking about Jobs in Cincinnati, Jackson & Allentown

We kicked off our Real Jobs Summit Tour in Cincinnati, Ohio and Jackson, Mississippi, with
great press coverage and over 500 people attending each event. Speaker Gingrich talked about our Jobs First plan, and took questions from small business owners, students, and citizens concerned about our economy.

Then on Friday, we followed President Obama to Allentown, Pennsylvania where he held his first "White House to Main Street Tour." As the President was there to "hear from local small business owners on how to create jobs" we
interviewed some local Allentown small business owners to hear what they would tell the President. Let's just say they weren't exactly singing from the same song sheet. You can see video clips from Cincinnati, Jackson, and Allentown below.

As we mentioned last week, before we can win the vote on policy, we must win the argument on the better approach for job creation - and last week was a great week for beginning to educate our fellow Americans about lower taxes, smaller government, and real solutions for job creation.

5 Questions for President Obama's Speech

On Tuesday, President Obama will be giving his first big economic speech since his Washington, D.C. Jobs Summit. According to the White House, he will "outline some key priorities for encouraging businesses to invest and create jobs."

If his speech tomorrow is to have real impact, President Obama will present us with new ideas that will help small business owners, entrepreneurs, and concerned citizens around the country.

If you get a chance to either watch or read the President's speech, here are 5 questions worth asking:

1.    Does the President's new plan differ at all from the original $787 billion stimulus plan or is it more of the same?

2.     Are the solutions offered in the new plan temporary or are they long term solutions for sustained economic growth?

3.    Do the proposed solutions put more power in the hands of politicians to spend money or do they empower individual Americans to decide how their own money should be spent?

4.    Will the President's new plan be designed for small business to create jobs or is it designed for government to create new jobs?

5.     Does the President promote his energy tax and healthcare proposals as job creators, or does he emphasize them less than usual?

We'll be paying close attention to the President's speech, hoping we hear something new.

Sincerely,
Dan-V-Signature

If The One is going to strangle the U.S. economy in the name of mythical "manmade global warming," he will do it all by himself:

Go ahead, Champ.  Make our day.  Defy the overwhelming polling evidence that the public is no longer bamboozled by "climate change" alarmism, doesn't want a government takeover of health care, and sees you now for the callow, not-so-crypto-communist, strutting, megalomaniacal, incomptent narcissist you really are.  Refuse to remember James Carville's immortal words that defined the only two-term Donk presidency since FDR's: "It's the economy, stupid!"  Grind the middle class beneath your heel.

But know this: You'd better finish the job by suspending what's left of the Constitution and cancel all future elections.  Because the Depression you're determined to create will be hung entirely around your scrawny chickenesque neck.  And there's no way you'll survive 2012, even if you're unopposed - which you most certainly won't be.

Congress won't shoot the U.S. economy through the head with Cripple & Tax, so Red Barry will pull a Chavez and do it for them:

I hope nobody is so brain-dead as to be surprised by any of this.  Authoritarianism in pursuit of pagan commie superstitions is what "Hopenchange" is all about.

Exit question: Given that carbon dioxide is what, along with photosynthesis, makes plants grow, how can a bureaucratic fatwa against CO2 emissions be fairly or accurately be characterized or described as being "green"?

Teachers File FEC Complaint against NEA for Illegal PAC Money Laundering Scheme

The National Right to Work Foundation announced it is filing a formal complaint with the Federal Election Commission on behalf of two Alabama educators and itself against the National Education Association teacher union and two NEA affiliates for an illegal political fundraising scheme recently uncovered.

The case raises serious questions about the role played by the nation's largest teacher union in electing Barack Obama and scores of other Far Left, pro-forced-unionism politicians last year.

Dear fellow patriot,

With willing one-world accomplices in Washington, D.C., gun-grabbers around the globe believe they have it made.

In fact, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton just announced the Obama Administration would be working hand in glove with the UN to pass a new “Small Arms Treaty.”

Disguised as legislation to help in the fight against “terrorism,” “insurgency” and “international crime syndicates,” the UN Small Arms Treaty is nothing more than a massive, GLOBAL gun control scheme.

Ultimately, the UN’s Small Arms Treaty is designed to register, ban and CONFISCATE firearms owned by private citizens like YOU.

That’s why it’s vital you sign special petition I’ve made up for your signature that DEMANDS your U.S. Senators vote AGAINST ratification of the UN’s “Small Arms Treaty!”

So far, the gun-grabbers have successfully kept the exact wording of their new scheme under wraps.

But looking at previous versions of the UN “Small Arms Treaty,” you and I can get a good idea of what’s likely in the works.

If passed by the UN and ratified by the U.S. Senate, the UN “Small Arms Treaty” would almost certainly FORCE national governments to:
    *** Enact tougher licensing requirements, making law-abiding citizens cut through even more bureaucratic red tape just to own a firearm legally;

    *** CONFISCATE and DESTROY ALL “unauthorized” civilian firearms (all firearms owned by the government are excluded, of course);

    *** BAN the trade, sale and private ownership of ALL semi-automatic weapons;

*** Create an INTERNATIONAL gun registry, setting the stage for full-scale gun CONFISCATION.
So please click here to sign the petition to your U.S. Senators before it’s too late!

You see, this is NOT a fight we can afford to lose.

Ever since it’s founding almost 65 years ago, the United Nations has been hell-bent on bringing the United States to its knees.

To the petty dictators and one-worlders who control the UN, the U.S. isn’t a “shining city on a hill” -- it’s an affront to their grand totalitarian designs for the globe.

These anti-gun globalists know that so long as Americans remain free to make our own decisions without being bossed around by big government bureaucrats, they’ll NEVER be able to seize the worldwide oppressive power they crave.

And the UN’s apologists also know the most effective way to finally strip you and me of ALL our freedoms would be to DESTROY our gun rights.

That’s why it’s vital you act TODAY!

The truth is, there’s no time to waste.

You and I have to be prepared for this fight to move FAST.

The fact is, the last thing the gun-grabbers in the U.N. and in Washington, D.C. want is for you and me to have time to react and mobilize gun owners to defeat this radical legislation.

They’ve made that mistake before, and we’ve made them pay, defeating EVERY attempt to ram the “Treaty on Small Arms” into law since the mid-1990s.

But this time, time won’t be on our side.

In fact, we’re likely to only have a few days or weeks to defeat the treaty.

Worse, there’s no longer any pro-gun Republican Senate to kill ratification of the treaty.

There’s no longer any Republican in the White House who has stated opposition to the treaty.

And you and I know good and well how Germany, Great Britain, France, Communist China or the rest of the anti-gun members of the United Nations are going to vote.

So our ONE AND ONLY CHANCE of stopping the UN’s “Small Arms Treaty” is during the ratification process in the U.S. Senate.

As you know, it takes 67 Senate votes to ratify a treaty.

With 40 Republicans, that should be easy, right?

Unfortunately, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

First, you know just as well as I do that not all the remaining Republicans in the Senate are “pro-gun” in any sense of the term.

Second, even with the partisan rancor in Washington, D.C., many GOP Senators get “queasy” about killing treaties for fear of “embarrassing” the President -- especially with “international prestige” at stake.

They look at ratifying treaties much like approving Presidents’ Supreme Court nominees.

And remember, there were NINE Republicans who voted to confirm anti-gun Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

A dozen more GOP Senators only voted against Sotomayor after receiving massive grassroots pressure from the folks back home.

So if we’re going to defeat the UN’s “Small Arms Treaty” we have to turn the heat up on the U.S. Senate now before it’s too late!

That’s exactly where this petition come in.

So won’t you click here to sign IMMEDIATELY?

And also, if you can, I hope you’ll agree to make a generous contribution of $200, $150, $100 or even just $35.

With your generous contribution, I’ll immediately begin contacting Second Amendment supporters through mail, phones and e-mail to turn up the heat on targeted U.S. Senators.

Tops on the list are the “usual suspects” like Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, Lindsay Graham and the rest of the weak-kneed Republicans in the Senate whose votes we can never count on.

I also want to begin contacting gun owners in states represented by key Democrats -- like Senators John Tester and Max Baucus of Montana, Senators Mark Warner and Jim Webb of Virginia, Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska and Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana.

And finally, I’ve designed a “special” hard-hitting program especially for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to let Nevada gun owners know exactly what he and his anti-gun pals have planned for you and me.

Facing a tough reelection in 2010, Senator Reid knows he’s already skating on thin ice with Nevada voters.

So you and I could end up putting the final nail in his political coffin -- if I can pull out all the stops.

Direct mail.  Phones.  E-mail.  Blogs.  Billboards.  Guest editorials.  Press conferences.  Hard-hitting newspaper, radio and TV ads.  The whole nine yards.

Of course, if I can raise enough resources, my goal is to expand this full program to ALL our target states.

But that’s not going to be cheap, and we may not have much time.

In fact, if we’re going to defeat the UN’s so-called “Small Arms Treaty,” we have to start NOW!

So please click here to sign the petition to your U.S. Senators.

And if you possibly can, please agree to make a contribution of $200, $150, $100, or even just $35.

Every petition and every dollar count in this fight.

So please sign the petition and include your most generous contribution of $200, $150, $100 or $35 TODAY.

In Liberty,

Dudley Brown

"Good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas  decorations. The bad news is that I had to take him down after 2 days. I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever.Great stories. But two things made me take it down.

First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by.

Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn't realize it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy). By the way, she was one of many people who attempted to do that. My yard couldn't take it either. I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard."

Three strangers strike up a conversation in the passenger lounge in the Bozeman, Montana airport while waiting for their respective flights.  One is an American Indiana passing through from Lame Deer; another is a cowboy on his way to Billings for a livestock show; and the third passenger is a fundamentalist Arab studen, newly arrived at Montana State University from the Middle East.

Their discussion drifts to their diverse cultures.  Soon the two Westerners learn that the Arab is a devout radical Muslim and the conversation falls into an uneasy lull.

The  cowboy leans back in his chair, crosses his boots on a magazine table, tips his big sweat-stained hat forward over his face, and lights a cigarette.  The wind outside is blowing tumbleweeds around, and the old windsock is flapping; but still no plane comes.

Finally, the American Indian clears his throat and softly he speaks, 'At one time here... my people were many... but sadly, now we are  few.'

The  Muslim student raises an eyebrow and leans forward.  "Once my people were few,' he sneers, 'and now we are many.  Why do you suppose that is?"

The cowboy removes his cigarette from his mouth and from the darkness beneath his Stetson says in a smooth drawl . . . "I reckon that's 'cause we ain't played 'Cowboys & Muslims" yet, but I do believe it's a-comin'."

NEW AD TO COMBAT OBAMACARE
IN SWING STATES

Dear Friend,

We want to run this ad in Maine, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Nebraska heavily between now and Christmas to influence the swing votes we need in the Senate. It is aimed squarely at young people and I think will be very effective.

Even if you have given already, we need you to do it again. This is a cumulative process of moving public opinion and we need to keep at it. So far, we've raised over $3 million from 40,000 donations. But we need to keep pouring it on!

Two weeks ago, I told you -- and the Arkansas media -- that Zogby did a poll in Arkansas that asked voters how they would vote in the coming Senate race of the Democratic incumbent Blanche Lincoln and her possible Republican challengers. The question showed Lincoln clinging to a two point lead. Then Zogby asked who they would vote for if Lincoln voted for the health care bill and she fell to 13 points behind her challengers.

Well, it happened and the lesson won't be lost on Ms. Lincoln. She voted to consider the bill along with the other 59 Democrats and, yesterday, Rasmussen conducted a poll and found her nine points behind her Republican challengers!

It is our ads with the League of American Voters -- aimed at those under 30 and over 65 -- that are having this impact. PLEASE give us funds to run them even more in the next three weeks!!!!

CLICK HERE to see it and to donate.

Thanks,

Dick Morris

Y'know, this Tiger Woods thing is ridiculous. We have major media outlets who refuse to cover the Climategate scandal, but they can't stop reporting on Tiger Woods' troubles and the gatecrashers at the White House state dinner. Really, aren't there just a few more important things to report on, guys?

This is sickening. Absolutely sickening:

Reflections of a Rock Lobster – Pages 13 + 14

(At the age of six, the author played “sex therapist” with a five-year-old friend, and “explored our sexuality to its fullest.”)

One friend I was very close to was Billy Marlen. Billy was a year behind me in school yet we got along well together. In our friendship, a special camaraderie existed that was rare in my other friendships. There was a brotherhood that does not often occur even between brothers. We shared our toys and spent many summer days building sandcastles on the beach. On rainy days I’d walk down to Billy’s house where we spent the day reading books and building racetracks and playing sex therapist in his basement. We were human beings who knew no social inhibitions and were willing to explore our sexuality to its fullest
.

….

Passages of Pride – Page 4

(Beginning at the age of five, a young child has sexual encounters with his playmates.)

Throughout his childhood, from age five on, Derek would sneak off with a friend into someone’s basement or the woods along the back alley, where they would take off their pants and play with each other, usually fondling each other’s genitals. It became habitual.

“At that time, I didn’t quite have a name for it,” says Derek. “It was something that I liked doing, that felt good, that I wanted to do as often as I could. The other kids always recognized it as being something bad and dirty. And all I wanted to know was, When can we do it again?”

In Your Face – Page 150

(The author describes how a sudden and impulsive sexual encounter was the healthiest relationship he’s ever had, then regrets the incestuous relationship he had with his cousin.)

But I know in the immediate future I want a very healthy relationship, because I’ve never really had a healthy relationship. The closest I’ve had was with a guy that I met at the lake when we lived in Davenport. I just met him at the lake, and he already had a boyfriend and stuff. I just walked up to him and said, “Do you want to f**k?” and we did. For a week. And then I went home because I couldn’t handle it anymore. The relationship I had with my cousin was very, very twisted, and I didn’t like hiding it. I mean, he was my cousin, and so it feels rather disgusting. But I think that you’re gonna fall in love with whomever you’re gonna fall in love with.

We have creeps like "safe schools" czar Kevin Jennings in charge? These the the types of people that Obama surrounds himself with. Do you suppose his sycophants will *ever* wake up?

Doing the investigative work the dinosaur, Obama-enabling media won’t do, Scott Baker and a collaborative research team have waded through the sexually explicit reading list endorsed by safe schools czar Kevin Jennings and the group he founded — GLSEN.

Read on. If I ever found out my kids were reading garbage like that, I would be absolutely *furious*. As the writer asks, do you think the Obamas would allow their girls to read that?

Come to think of it, maybe they would....

Jim,

The road to economic recovery starts with job creation.

Today we continue our "Real Jobs Summits" in Jackson, Mississippi, one day after five hundred people turned out for our first one in Cincinnati, Ohio.

We have a unique opportunity to begin educating every American about two very different plans for our economic future.

President Obama at his jobs summit will outline a plan to mirror the Obama-Pelosi-Reid plans that have failed to create jobs throughout this past year. And they will fail because big government, high tax, big bureaucracy, politician-defined models simply don't work.

At our Real Jobs Summits we are listening to job creators and outlining the American Solutions plan to create jobs through balanced budgets, reduced spending, lower taxes, and smaller government. It's a plan that would put power back into the hands of individuals, small businesses and entrepreneurs, where REAL job creation begins.

Please watch the Jackson, MS, event streaming online live today, December 3rd, from 5-7pm ET right here.

Our REAL plan for REAL job creation has been updated in recent weeks, as we've gotten great feedback from small business owners, entrepreneurs and job creators all across the country. To see some of these proposals,

The American Solutions plan will reignite this spirit and will get our economy growing again by putting Americans back to work. President Obama has shown in less than one year that trusting government more than individuals does not create jobs and prosperity.

When we reward entrepreneurship, saving, and investment, we build an economy that gives every American the opportunity to succeed and create a better life.

We must build on our success last night in Cincinnati with our second Real Jobs Summit tonight in Jackson.

Please watch online this evening, and do what you can to share our REAL plan for REAL job creation with your friends and family.

Your friend,

Newt Signature

Newt Gingrich

General Chairman

P.S. Our Real Jobs Summits have already generated national attention. You can learn more here.

I have a lot to be thankful for this Christmas...and the best way to enjoy it is to try not to pay attention to the crap going on in Washington. What a screwed up bunch! I mean, take a look at Michelle Malkin's blog right now...the stuff she is covering is enough to make you want to hole up in a bunker. I guess I can be especially thankful that I'm not a disingenuous, intellectually dishonest liberal Democrat. They have totally lost their souls.

I'm sitting here in my living room surrounded by beautiful Christmas lights and decorations, my family is safe and healthy, and hey, it's still America, at least for the time being.

Dick Morris, our chief strategist at the League of American Voters, is warning of massive new taxes if Obama's healthcare plan gets through.

As Dick explains, the Obama plan will force states to spend much more on healthcare as part of new federal "mandates." This means states will be forced to raise taxes from you and me.

This is just one more of the more dangerous and insidious aspects of Obamacare.

We are fighting hard to continue this struggle to expose and defeat Obamacare.

Please read Dick's column below and please continue to donate. We are launching a new TV ad for key states next week.

Please donate here now.

Thank you.

Bob Adams
League of American Voters

Prepare for massive HEALTHCARE TAXES

By DICK MORRIS

The Obama healthcare initiative will be the biggest unfunded federal mandate on the states in history. It will force dozens of states, particularly in the South, to abandon their low-tax ways and to move toward dramatically higher rates of taxation. It may even force Florida and Texas to impose an income tax!

In the Senate version of the bill, states must expand their Medicaid eligibility to cover everyone with an income that is 133 percent of the poverty level.

The House bill brings it up to 150 percent. But a host of states have kept their state taxes low precisely by so limiting eligibility for Medicaid that it essentially is only for seniors needing long-term care and not for poor younger people who require acute care.

For example, Texas covers only those who make 27 percent of the poverty level or less. Florida covers only 55 percent. Pennsylvania covers only 36 percent. Arkansas covers only 17 percent. North Dakota covers only 62 percent. Nebraska covers only 58 percent. Louisiana covers only 26 percent. Indiana covers only 26 percent.

The revenue required to bring these states up to the 133 percent level in the Senate bill or the 150 percent level in the House would be enormous. Even California only covers up to 106 percent of the poverty level.

All states except for Connecticut, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Vermont and Wisconsin (plus the District of Columbia) will have to raise their eligibility for Medicaid under the Senate healthcare bill. And they will have to pay for part of the cost. Under the House bill, with a higher Medicaid eligibility standard, Massachusetts and Vermont would also have to pay more.

The Medicaid expansion provisions of the Senate bill are complex. In the first year of the program (2013), states must enroll anyone who earns less than 133 percent of the poverty level in their programs. For a family of four, the national average poverty level in 2009 is $22,000 a year. So any family that size that makes less than $29,000 would be eligible for Medicaid.

For the first three years of the program (2013-2015) the federal government would pay for all of the costs of the Medicaid expansion. But starting in the fourth year of operation -- 2016 -- states would be obliged to pay 10 percent of the extra cost.

While Obama has often spoken about how he won't raise taxes on the middle class, his healthcare legislation will require the governors to do so.

Particularly in those states with Democratic governors, it is easy to see how the backlash against these new taxes could fundamentally alter state politics.

The following table is a rough calculation of the cost each state will have to bear once it has to pick up 10 percent of the cost. These calculations are based on guidelines laid down for me by the Republican staff of the Senate Finance Committee. There has been no official data yet generated on how much the Senate or House provisions will cost the taxpayers in each state.

STATE SPENDING INCREASES IN MEDICAID REQUIRED BY SENATE HEALTH BILL

Alaska $39M

Ariz. $217M

Ark. $402M

Fla. $909M

Ga. $495M

Hawaii $41M

Idaho $97M

Iowa $77M

Ind. $586M

Kan. $186M

Ky. $199M

La. $432M

Md. $194M

Mich. $570M

Miss. $136M

Mo. $836M

Mont. $29M

Neb. $81M

Nev. $54M

N.H. $59M

N.M. $102M

N.C. $599M

N.D. $14M

Ohio $399M

Okla. $190M

Ore. $231M

Pa. $1,490M

S.C. $122M

S.D. $33M

Texas $2,749M

Utah $58M

Va. $601M

Wash. $311M

W.Va. $132M

Wyo. $25M

These estimates were obtained by calculating the increase in Medicaid spending in each state to bring it up to the 133 percent level specified in the Senate bill. Then I applied the percentage of Medicaid spending in each state on acute care (mainly for the poor) as opposed to long-term care (mainly for the elderly). Finally, I took 10 percent of the increased state share of spending and listed it in the table above.

Dear Policy Patriots -

Thank you for your support of the Free Our Health Care NOW! campaign to fight against government-run health care.

What part will you play in the fight for American health care during December?

YOUR MISSION: To call your U.S. Senators and tell them to vote against any legislation that promotes government-run health care.

YOUR TACTICS:
Click here, sign in, and you will have an opportunity to call your U.S. Senators offices toll-free so that you can share your views with them.

When you speak with your Senators, you may want to tell them:

  • "Don't support a bill that requires me to buy very expensive health insurance that I may not be able to afford."
  • "Don't support a bill that threatens me with fines and imprisonment if I do not buy government-mandated health insurance."
  • "Don't support a bill that leads to health care rationing, possibly denying me care that doctors think I should have."

In this letter, you'll find receive an up-to-the-minute update on the health care fight as well as responsible health care solutions proposed by the NCPA. Please consider taking part in the fight:

  • Forward this letter to a friend. Unfortunately, too many Americans don't know what's taking place on Capitol Hill. Please send this letter to your friends and family. Encourage them to join the campaign by visiting www.freeourhealthcarenow.com.
  • Call Congress. If you'd rather bend your Rep's ear, you can! Just click here and you can be talking to Congress in less than five minutes!
  • Write Congress. Policy Patriots have sent more than 308,000 emails to Congress. To write your Rep, click here. A letter to your Congressional representatives expressing your concerns is waiting for your signature.
  • Donate to the cause. Make your tax-deductible contribution and help us continue fighting government-run health care. Fighting government-run health care is expensive and we need your help. Just click this link or send your contribution to:

You probably won't be surprised to learn that 53% of Americans oppose government-run health care!

Government-run health care is unpopular for good reason:

  • Since February 2009, Americans have said that deficit reduction should be the President's number one priority. Yet Congress and the White House continue to lobby for a health care agenda that will hurt more Americans than it helps.
  • Government-run health care will lower quality for most Americans. Americans will receive less preventative medicine including fewer mammograms, MRIs, colonoscopies, Pap smears and a myriad of other procedures designed to identify illness early.
  • Government-run health care will marginalize seniors. Under government-run health care, senior citizens will lose $400 billion in Medicare benefits and every senior (more than 12 million!) who currently enjoys Medicare Advantage will be kicked off its rolls.
  • Government-run health care will reduce choice for most Americans. Americans will have less choice about what doctors treat them, what medicine they ingest, what tests they access and what surgeries they deserve. Under government-run health care, most Americans won't have a choice about what their insurance policies cover.
  • Government-run health care will increase cost for most Americans. The taxpayers who bear the costs of government-run health care won't be limited to the über-rich. For instance: a 26-year-old will receive a 200% tax increase! Under government-run health care, Americans will pay significantly more in taxes and premiums.

It's not only frustrating to see the bad things that current reform proposals will do. It's just as frustrating to read about the ideas left out of the legislation. Consider these:

  • Reform of medical malpractice law. Per decade, the absence of tort reform costs Americans an estimated $500 billion. Incredibly, neither the House nor Senate versions of government-run health care attempt tort reform because, as Howard Dean openly acknowledges, Congress doesn't want "to take on the trial lawyers."
  • Simplify health insurance. Federal regulations currently prohibit Americans from purchasing health insurance across state lines. By opening the market, Americans could enjoy greater choice, higher quality and lower cost. Despite this, Congress has quashed the idea because real market competition would obviate the need for a public option.
  • Reform the tax structure. Every year, the federal government forgoes $250 billion in revenue because of the way that the IRS taxes health care benefits. By addressing inefficiencies in the tax code, the federal government could save billions and effectively expand coverage. Even on tax reform, however, politics has gotten in the way of Congress making meaningful headway toward a better, fairer structure.

FIGHT BACK! Americans deserve real health care reform. Government-run health care is a threat to the quality, choice and cost of the health care YOU enjoy! Tell your Congressional representatives why you oppose government-run health care by sending them an email. Go to:

Explorer has pooped out on my PC, for some reason, and I can't get here with Firefox. It just dawned on me to post via my laptop instead. Duh. Anyway...

How about that rousing speech last night, huh? I mean, should our boys fighting for our freedom be fired up, or what? Rush Limbaugh said it best, it was a wet noodle of a speech. Good Lord, this petty little twirp cannot string a sentence together without blaming Bush for his failures. And victory? I mean, have you ever heard the man utter that word? The contempt I feel for Barack Obama is unbelievable, as is the contempt I feel for the fools who voted him in to assuage their white guilt, or their black "loyalty." Sorry, but this IS a black and white issue. There was just too much crap that had to be overlooked in order to vote for this child we have put in a man's job. God help us.

This week, we have a unique opportunity to begin educating every American about two very different plans for our economic future.

At his Jobs Summit on Thursday, President Obama will begin to outline his plan, which will likely mirror the Obama-Pelosi-Reid plans that have failed to create jobs throughout this past year. They've failed because their big government, high tax, big bureaucracy, politician-defined model simply doesn't work.

On the other hand, we'll be holding our own "Real Jobs Summits," starting this week, where Newt Gingrich will outline the American Solutions plan to create jobs through balanced budgets, reduced spending, lower taxes, and smaller government. It's a plan that would put power back into the hands of individuals, small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Our Real Jobs Summits, which will continue next year, will start off this week in Cincinnati, Ohio (December 2) and Jackson, Mississippi (December 3).

You can watch the Jackson, MS event streaming live on Thursday, Dec. 3 from 5-7 pm ET right here.

Our REAL plan for REAL job creation has been updated in recent weeks, as we've gotten great feedback from small business owners, entrepreneurs and job creators all across the country. To see some of what we'll be proposing, you can go here.

Ronald Reagan, on the eve of the House vote on his historic 1981 tax cuts, said to the American people, "I've not taken your time this evening merely to ask you to trust me. Instead, I ask you to trust yourselves."

That's the spirit that will get our economy growing again and put Americans back to work. President Obama has shown in less than one year that trusting government more than individuals cannot and will not create jobs and prosperity.

When we implement policies that reward entrepreneurship, saving, and investment, we will once again build an economy that gives every American the opportunity to succeed and create a better life.

But before we win the vote on policy, we must win the argument, and we hope to make real headway this week.

We hope you'll tune in to watch on Thursday, and do what you can to share our REAL plan for REAL job creation with your friends and family.

Sincerely,
Dan-V-Signature

Dan Varroney
Chief Operating Officer
American Solutions

P.S. Our Real Jobs Summits have begun to get national attention, particularly on Fox News. You can read their report here.
