Don't Let Bill Press Take Your Rectal Temperature
Is this alimentary carbunkle's surname really "Press"? That's gotta be a stage name, doesn't it?
On the other hand, it's about as dubious as this off-his-meds rant:
Y'see, liberalism is a maze of one-way streets. It's a "heads I win/tails you lose" philosophy. They consider themselves entitled to both sides of every argument, because each side "proves" their position. The electorate handing the keys to the kingdom over to Red Barry and Crazy Nancy and Dirty Harry in 2008 "proved" that the American people had "come to their senses" and realized what completely helpless waifs they are and, as Al Sharpton indiscretely declared, embraced socialism for-evah. Now that the Obamidency is collapsing and landslide proportions of that same electorate are writing off the Obamunists and their "some kind of a god" as the vicious, tyrannical, incompetent, extremist failures that they always were and are, this "proves" that the American people are "ungovernable" and need lib-o-fascism EVEN MORE to "remind them of their place" and "teach them a lesson" for "their own good" - whether they want it or not.
In short, we were docile children to be proud of eighteen months ago; we're rebellious children in need of a federal spanking now.
Y'know, at least the late Peter Jennings waited until AFTER the 1994 GOP midterm landslide to get this alarmingly patronizing.
But you gotta give 'em credit for spunky zealotry; they're not gonna get their monopoly handed back to 'em, but the Obamedia will continue to try to forcibly do our thinking for us:
CBS and NBC have refused to air a provocative ad from the confrontational, well-funded National Republican Trust PAC that calls on Americans to oppose the building of a mosque two blocks from the World Trade Center site....
"On September 11, they declared war against us," says the narrator. "And to celebrate that murder of 3,000 Americans, they want to build a monstrous thirteen-story mosque at Ground Zero."
In her letter rejecting the spot, NBC Universal advertising standards manager Jennifer Riley wrote:
"An ad questioning the wisdom of building a mosque at ground zero would meet our issues of public controversy advertising criteria. However, this ad which ambiguously defines 'they' as referenced in the spot makes it unclear as to whether the reference is to terrorists or to the Islamic religious organization that is sponsoring the building of the mosque. Consequently, the ad is not acceptable under our guidelines for broadcast."
Shut up, all you infidel Islamiphobic bigots, and pony up for your prayer rugs - or else!
In immortal words of Mel Gibson, "Miss Riley, you can blow me!":
Press, on the other hand, can just kiss my ass, and spend the rest of his days dreading how many Pachyderms we're gonna shove up his.
