Going Through The Motions
J-Ger shines the light of truth on a couple of new bits of Donk shenanigans....
***Evidently Representative John Adler (D-NJ3), who is going to get pancaked in November by former long-time Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Jon Runyan, thinks he can turn his particular doomed House race into a handicap match:
Who the heck is Peter DeStefano?
Well, he claims to be an independent tea party loyalist. But the Runyan camp believes he is a fake, an Adler plant designed to siphon Runyan’s support. They might have a point: No organized tea party group had ever heard of DeStefano before he announced his candidacy.
DeStefano says “it’s ridiculous” to suggest he is working with the Adler campaign. He calls himself a former Reagan Republican. But as the evidence piles up, he sounds more like an Adler Republican. Although the Adler campaign insists it is not behind DeStefano’s candidacy, longtime Adler supporters and donors signed DeStefano’s petition to get on the ballot.
“No staff member on John Adler’s campaign has contacted Peter DeStefano or his campaign,” Adler campaign manager Geoff Mackler said. That may be true. But campaigns can use free agents to do dirty work, too.
. . . When asked about his campaign, DeStefano said he had been “going to diners and Wawa, telling people I’m running for Congress.”
So, in an election involving tens of thousands of voters, with control of the House of Representatives and a nation’s legislative agenda at stake, DeStefano wants voters to believe he’s making his march to Washington one warmed-over chili dog at a time.
Even with a thirty-two-ounce soft drink, that’s a little hard to swallow.
This helping of scoffing skepticism brought you by those right-wing racist extremists at....the Newark Star-Ledger.
What's the biggest giveaway? That this joker beams into the race this late? The laughable attempt at not-even-one degree of separation? Or that DeStefano is self-described as a "former" Reagan Republican? Why the "former" descriptor, Pete? Are you trying to be a crappy plant?
***If Adler's monkey business is straight-up pathetic, Paul Hodes' skull-duggery in his lame New Hampshire senate bid is outright hilarious:
The New Hampshire Republican party is filing a complaint with the state attorney general’s office, arguing that Paul Hodes, the Democratic congressman who’s running for Senate in that state, is behind a push poll meddling in the GOP primary. Allegedly, Hodes is hiding the fact that his campaign commissioned the poll, which he is required to disclose under state law.
This is a strikingly unwise decision on Hodes’s part, considering how according to recent polling, he trails everybody.
Talk about pick your poison. Kinda reminds me of this guy:
Politically speaking, of course. Although ya gotta admit, the microwave blowing up the lava lamp in the guy's face is HUGELY metaphorical of the eventual outcome of both contests.
I'd ascribe these dirty tricks to desperation, except that I'm utterly convinced Adler and Hodes would be using these tactics regardless of the state of their respective races. Birds gotta fly, fish gotta swim, Democrats gotta cheat.
Barbara Boxer isn't behind in her re-election bid against Republican challenger Carly Fiorina, but she's got what no Donk should have in Gollyfornia, a legit catfight on her hands. As such, one thing she really does need, but has never had, in abundance is much better control over the restrictor plate on her mouth.
Alas, the dadblasted contraption failed Senator "Ma'm" yet again....:
....and Team Fiorina pounced:
“Barbara Boxer’s disrespectful comments underscore just how out of touch she has become after her twenty-eight years in Washington,“ Veterans for Carly Coalition Co-Chairman Lieutenant Commander Paul Chabot said in a press release, in response to Boxer’s comments. “Equating the experiences of members of Congress with those of brave soldiers who have fought to defend our country is just the latest example in a failed career marked by disrespect for our men and women in uniform.”…
When asked for comment, Boxer’s campaign manager, Rose Kapolczynski, responded, “Regardless of what she says now, Fiorina has to face the fact that when she was CEO of [Hewlett-Packard], HP equipment was sold to Iran, a state sponsor of terror, contrary to U.S. law.”…
This is not the first time, however, that Boxer has made comments or taken actions that were considered offensive to those serving in the military. Remember, for instance, Sen. Boxer’s over-the-top rebuke of an Army brigadier general last year when he referred to her as “ma’am” during a committee hearing?
Nice non sequitur, Rose. Maybe your boss can tell us all about it while she's dodging mortar fire and tactical air strikes on her way between committee hearings, floor votes, and Godbama-blessed fundraisers.
