Obamnesty Uber Alles

When you read the following quote, just remember one thing, folks - at least a third of these dirty, filthy, Nazi, fascist, brown-hating racists voted for Barack Obama in 2008:

Support for the building of a fence along the Mexican border has reached a new high, and voters are more confident than ever that illegal immigration can be stopped.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 68% of U.S. voters now believe the United States should continue to build a fence on the Mexican border. That’s up nine points from March when the Obama administration halted funding for the fence and the highest level of support ever.

Just 21% oppose the continued building of the border fence.

Support for the fence is strong across all demographic groups. But while 76% of Mainstream voters think the United States should continue to build the fence, 67% of the Political Class are opposed to it.

And why is that?  Simple - divergent interests.  We, The People, want the border controlled and illegal immigration stopped.  For economic and cultural reasons, both of which fall under the rubric of the practical.  The "political class" - overwhelmingly Democrat - see illegals as their ticket to permanently and demographically overwhelming the GOP and entrenching themselves in power forever.  Just another variation on the fundamental conflict between the "mainstream" that does not want to be ruled and the "elites" that are determined to force their rule on us whether we want it or not.

Ace calls it "the abstract versus the concrete."  But whatever the nomenclature, it is a collision course scheduled for impact on November 2nd.  And either way, one side isn't going to walk away from the wreckage.

Which, of course, is why a certain RINO is staking out garishly unoccupied territory now on the post-Donk-hegemonic immigration battlefield:

Does Lindsey Grahmnesty really, truly want to deny American citizenship to the U.S.-soil-born progeny of illegal aliens?  No he does not, which is why he's proposing the idea as a Constitutional amendment he knows as well as we do has zero chance of ever seeing the light of passage day.  Does he see this back-breaking backflip as a bargaining chip for Obamnesty in the Republican-controlled 112th Congress in which he envisions himself having a starring role, with the added advantage of insulating him against a primary challenge in 2014?  Now you're talking!  Does he really think that Red Barry would share any of the "credit" for a "comprehensive immigration reform" deal?  Hey, he voted for Ugly Elena, didn't he?

But it may all be moot if our "dangerously authoritarian" president gets his way:

According to an internal U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services memo going the rounds of Capitol Hill and obtained by National Review, the agency is considering ways in which it could enact “meaningful immigration reform absent legislative action” — that is, without the consent of the American people through a vote in Congress

Perhaps the most egregious suggestion is to “Increase the Use of Deferred Action.” “Deferred action,” as the memo defines it, “is an exercise of prosecutorial discretion not to pursue removal from the U.S. of a particular individual for a specific period of time.” For example, after Hurricane Katrina, the government decided not to remove illegal immigrants who’d been affected by the disaster.

The memo claims that there are no limits to USCIS’s ability to use deferred action, but warns that using this power indiscriminately would be “controversial, not to mention expensive.” The memo suggests using deferred action to exempt “particular groups” from removal — such as the illegal-immigrant high-school graduates who would fall under the DREAM Act (a measure that has been shot down repeatedly in Congress). The memo claims that the DREAM Act would cover “an estimated 50,000” individuals, though as many as 65,000 illegal immigrants graduate high school every year in the U.S.

Yes, once again I do think Eeyore is being too optimistic.  The One thinks incrementalism is for pussies insufficiently committed to The Cause.  He's not going to amnestize in dribs and drabs below the radar, for the additional reason that it would have a like minimized impact on energizing the reconquistas he needs turning out to blunt the magnitude of Donk losses in November.  He needs a big splash for that, and he needs it BEFORE the election.  So expect the actual action to go beyond the expansive scope of this memo.

There is one caveat, though: Indefinitely injuncting Arizona SB1070 might generate some of that base-stirring already.  That might delay blanket Obamnesty by Executive decree until after the midterms, removing it as additional center-right red meat beforehand and spotting nearly two years for public anger to diminish in the meantime before his own re-election reckoning, also figuring that much of it would be sated by the pummeling the Dems are going to take this time 'round.

But Obamnesty there will be, one way or the other.  All he has to do is just enforce existing federal immigration - and election - law even less than he is already.
