Political Commissars

Another former Department of Injustice & Revenge attorney, another revelation of Obamunist voter suppression:

Barack Obama learned from Saul Alinsky's manual that the most essential tactic for expanding power is to make opponents abide by the rules while never enforcing the rules against one's allies. That's exactly what his Justice Department and other executive departments are doing in case after case, all aimed at rigging the deck in favor of the political left.

That's what the accompanying column by Eric Eversole is all about. Military voters are thought to tend rightward. The Obamites at Justice - such as Rebecca Wertz, the deputy chief of Justice's Voting Section, whose remarks to the National Association of Secretaries of State were referenced by Mr. Eversole - are thus encouraging secretaries of state to seek waivers so they can avoid taking more steps to protect military voting rights. This is an affront to every one of our servicemen abroad, and it should not be allowed. Rigging the deck is also what the abandonment of a voter-intimidation case against New Black Panthers members is all about...

Once again, to the true cynic, this isn't the slightest bit surprising.  Indeed, it was inevitable that people so corrupt and extreme would try to (further) banana-republicanize our democratic processes from within as they've been ACORNizing them from without for years.  And it's also nothing new, as the Dems, if you'll recall, tried to suppress the military vote count in Florida during Al Gore's 2000 coup attempt.

It is an admission of weakness, though, in the sense that it concedes that the Obamunists aren't yet in a strong enough position to simply do away with the pretense of democracy and just seize power openly and outright.  And with J. Christian Adams and now Eric Eversole, one wonders if this trickle of rebellion might just grow into a flood that sweeps away the White House's hamhanded deck-stacking chicanery, and the tattered remains of his hopenchange hypery along with it.

All of which means that Eric The Red is probably not long for his job.  Not unlike Janet "Hello Wall" Napolitano:

For at least a year, the Homeland Security Department detoured requests for federal records to senior political advisers for highly unusual [heh] scrutiny, probing for information about the requesters and delaying disclosures deemed too politically sensitive, according to nearly a thousand pages of internal e-mails obtained by the Associated Press. …

Career employees were ordered to provide Secretary Janet Napolitano’s political staff with information about the people who asked for records — such as where they lived, whether they were private citizens or reporters — and about the organizations where they worked.

If a member of Congress sought such documents, employees were told to specify Democrat or Republican.

"I’ll take a wild guess that the process was not expedited for requests coming from Republicans," snarks Ensign Ed.  Indeed.

Just sit back and behold this defensive police state-ism in all its horrifying ugliness.  Gee, I thought the Freedom of Information Act was supposed to empower Us, The People, to hold the government accountable by enforcing transparency upon it.  The info was supposed to go one way, from the governors to the governed.  One of the shining examples of democracy in action.  Nowhere in FOIA is it even hinted that a request for information from the government gets to serve as a convenient pretext for the feds investigating private citizens and groups as if they were....enemies of the State.

I refer to "defensive police state-ism" above deliberately, because how big a step is it to the offensive variety?  If John Q. Teabagger puts in an FOIA request, and Nappy's stormtroopers launch their counterinvestigation, what's to keep them from acting upon the information they gather?  Or simply planting something incriminating in their "results" and going after him in court, ruining him financially (at least) in the process?  And after the federal judiciary has been completely Obamunized, criminally as well?  Say goodbye to John Q. Teabagger, political prisoner; you'll never see him again.  And how many other citizens would be ballsy enough to follow in his footsteps?

And isn't it fascinating that as soon as Nappy got wind of this AP story, DHS shut down this practice.....for now.

I wrote earlier today about the socialist imperative.  Stories like this are instructive lessons in the authoritarian, unAmerican zealotry with which the regime guards and advances it, and why they must - MUST - be spayed AND neutered on November 2nd.
