The Quality Of The Message
Via J-Ger, while Republican governors like Bobby Jindal and Haley Barbour are polling at nearly twice the level of "Dirty Harry" Reid, he shrugs about his bottom-of-the-septic-tank approval numbers in a "things are tough all over" mein, and waxes nostalgically about the glory days, like a man who doesn't expect to still be "on the team" six months from now:
We have an economic situation that’s not only in Nevada. It’s all over the country and also we have a unique situation in Nevada. I haven’t had a difficult election for eleven years [when he buggered GOP "colleague" John Ensign out of his rightful victory in 1998]. During that twelve year period of time we’ve had 600,000 new people move to the state of Nevada. They don’t know me but they’ve seen that during a lot of this last number of years me is me trying to fight with George Bush because he’s trying to privatize social security or arguing about the war in Iraq and other policies of his. I thought that all the red ink was bad and I complained about that so people are going to have to get to know me, the 600,000 people who are now here who I am, a moderate kind of guy. That’s how I got elected so I feel comfortable where I am. I have a campaign that’s moving along just fine. I feel comfortable where we are today.”
And if he could fire up the flux capacitor and take his state back to those halycon days of yore, before Hogzilla and ObamaCare and all that slow dancing with Red Barry, maybe any of that would actually MATTER. As it is, his campaign bears a stronger resemblance to diva chocolate pudding matches than one "moving along just fine."
That's why Aereon will be just fine if she stays on the message against which Pencilneck is defenseless....
