Lazy Bastards
I dislike unions. No, I loathe unions. No, I detest unions. No, I HATE unions.
Wanna know why? Here're a couple of grand bull moose gold medal-winning examples.
***If they're striking a company, and that company went out and hired non-union replacement workers - "scabs," in unionese - violence would be a highly likely results.
But if the union is too frakking lazy to do its own picketing, can't muster the strength of its solidaritous "power to the people" convictions to stand around holding idiotic signs for a few hours a day, fears incurring a shoulder owie from hurling rotten eggs at Big Labor-designated targets, and is too wrapped up in the solopsism of their own moral supremacism to even recognize their own dry-heave-inducing hypocrisy, then they might want to consider these community philanthropists for affliation:
...the Mid-Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters is seeking paid demonstrators to march and chant in its current picket line outside the McPherson Building, an office complex here where the council says work is being done with nonunion labor.
"For a lot of our members, it's really difficult to have them come out, either because of parking or something else," explains Vincente Garcia, a union representative who is supervising the picketing.
So instead, the union hires unemployed people at the minimum wage—$8.25 an hour—to walk picket lines.
The union's Mr. Garcia sees no conflict in a union that insists on union labor hiring nonunion people to protest the hiring of nonunion labor.
He says the pickets are not only about "union issues" but also about fair wages and benefits for American workers. By hiring the unemployed, "we are also giving back to the community a bit," he says.
And maybe, Vince, JUST MAYBE, if you and your tumorous organization just SHUT UP and WENT AWAY, maybe those poor unemployed shleps for whom you claim to be doing such an altruistic FAVOR could actually get REAL jobs INSIDE THE PLACE YOU'RE HIRING THEM TO PICKET.
Asshole.
***Ah, but that's just standard-issue Big Labor arrogance. And its in the private sector.
But PUBLIC sector unions, THAT's where you go when you want to see the malevolent and the psychopathic:
By and large, teachers are more likely to be in close proximity to their students than is the school nurse. If any child of a teacher's class is epileptic like Gianna DeLorenzo, and said child has a seizure that could be lethal unless the appropriate medication is dispensed IMMEDIATELY, doesn't it make sense to provide teachers with the necessary medical training to serve as a backup in case the nurse(s) isn't/aren't available? Should this be about....THE CHILDREN?
No, it shouldn't, according to the California School Nurses Organization and the California Teachers Association. They want a nurse practitionery IN EVERY CLASSROOM, with FULL OVERINFLATED SALARY and FULL OVERINFLATED BENEFITS and FULL OVERINFLATED PENSION, or little Gianna there will just have to PAY THE PRICE for the taxpayers' SKINFLINTEDNESS. Oh, wait, I'm sorry, "the inability of the California Medical Association to find her ass with two hands and a flashlight."
Man, I hate unions. Sounds like a good time for some more Eddiebear.
