The left is very worried about the League of American Voters’ campaign to renew the Bush tax cuts and our national TV campaign with former Senator Fred Thompson.
Far left Rachel Maddow used her entertainment show on MSNBC this week to attack our effort with Senator Thompson.
Liberals such as Maddow have a lot to worry about. A recent Rasmussen Reports poll shows that 54% of Americans back a full renewal of the Bush tax cuts.
Thanks to our efforts — and your help — support is growing to renew the Bush tax cuts and keep our economy sound.

“The League of American Voters, it’s meant to sound grass-roots-y, right? It`s meant to sound like this organic movement of regular Americans out there who believes this thing . . .”
“But it’s kind of what these groups do. They lurk underneath the surface. They latch on to a political issue — particularly one that scares the dickens out of people . . . ”
“It also isn’t, by the way, about whether or not the Bush tax cuts expire. It`s about this as a cottage industry . . .”
“It’s about innocuous-sounding groups like the League of American Voters trying to pass themselves off as just like you and me, just your average Americans . . .”
“This isn’t a real fight over a real thing. They don’t care about whether they get the facts right. This is using politics as a platform for making money . . .”
Rachel Maddow’s attack is proof positive that our TV ads are striking a chord and making a big difference.
She doesn't want millions of Americans to sign our petition calling on Congress to fully renew the Bush Tax Cuts.
The more Americans find out about Obama’s coming tax hike — one that will hit at the end of this year if the Bush tax cuts are not renewed — the more they will let their voices be heard in Washington.
That's why Rachel Maddow and her gang are targeting the League — because of our success.
They know we are very effective in our outreach efforts. They really fear us.
The fact is that the League’s TV ad with Fred Thompson is telling America the disturbing truth about what will happen if Obama and Congress don’t renew the tax cuts.
Rachel Maddow doesn’t want you to know the truth. She doesn’t want millions of Americans to sign the League’s petition to renew the tax cuts.
After attacking the League, Maddow then brings Washington Post staff writer Ezra Klein on as a guest to the show. Klein spills the beans, and candidly admits our TV ads are having a powerful effect:
MADDOW: . . . What do you think Democrats are going to do? What do you think they’ll do between now and November?
KLEIN: I expect them to fold completely — and for some sort of good reason, it`s hard to increase taxes when you`re in a horrible recession.
So there you go, the naked truth.
