Never Outsource Coverups To The Man Whose Wife You Smeared
A verrrrrry interesting lede from Ensign Ed:
According to the Republicans on the House Oversight Committee, Bill Clinton has now denied that he acted as a go-between with Joe Sestak and the White House on a job offer to get out of the primary for the US Senate seat in Pennsylvania.
Here's more from a Pennsylvania TV station report:
You will recall that Sestak's story, corroborated by the White House, was that the latter recruited Sick Willie to act as liaison to the former in order to bribe him out of his Donk senate primary challenge to Snarlin' Arlen Specter by dangling a "high ranking" position within the regime. Interestingly, though, even at the time Mr. Bill himself never confirmed that he served as Red Barry's bagman.
Well, now he's sure as shinola confirming that he didn't:
Look at the tell-tale passage in this Jeff Dunetz post on the topic:
Just when you thought it was safe to accept a White House Job offer, the Joe Sestak Job scandal has reared its ugly head once again. Silent through the mess, former President Bill Clinton has finally spoken and denied the White House explanation that he met with Joe Sestak to offer him an administration job to drop out of the Democratic Primary against soon to be former Senator Specter.
Ladies and gentlemen, call this La Clinton Nostra's revenge. President Pants-Around-The-Ankles lets President God use his name while never leaving his own fingerprints on anything, then waits until popping up with a denial will do maximum damage to the White House and its would-be client.
Oh, it's not a huge receipt. Regrettably, the damage won't be criminal, since nobody actually or purportedly involved was under oath. But Sestak could have some 'splainin' to do to the House Ethics Committee, and ditto the Obamunist palace guard when House Government Oversight Committee Chairman Darryl Issa starts working his way down their "peccadillo" list next year. And it's pretty safe to conclude that the competitive phase of the Pat Toomey-Joe Sestak senate race will be over.
A nice little piece of old-time Clintonoid screwery, indeed. Kinda puts the rumors of The Empress joining The One on the '12 Donk ticket in a bit of a new light, doesn't it?
