Operation Kitchen Sink
Big Labor is trying to seize more power in the 2010 elections with the most aggressive forced-dues political blitz I've ever seen.
Union officials know that their majorities in Congress are at stake, and they will do anything to keep their power. Yet, some are acting as though victory for our side is assured.
That couldn't be more wrong.
As the nation's election season moves into high gear, Big Labor is pulling out all the stops.
Your help is needed right now as we take every possible action to fight back against Big Labor's Billion Dollar Ripoff and illegal campaign of forced-dues political activism.
Foundation attorneys are telling me daily about ever more brazen examples of union boss illegality. Outraged workers are flooding our offices with complaints of union boss abuse and requests for help.
Time is short.
We must be able to respond immediately to the flood of worker complaints with lawsuits, NLRB charges, Federal Election Commission (FEC) complaints, exposure in the media...
...whatever it takes.
That's why I am asking you to chip in $10 or more today to help the National Right to Work Foundation fight back.
With your help, we must dramatically step up efforts to use legal action to block much of Big Labor's illegal forced-dues-funded political electioneering.
The Foundation's #1 Priority this year is to file new legal actions to force union officials to abide by the law and to comply with prohibitions on collecting and using forced dues for politics and supporting Big Labor's candidates.
All the evidence is that the Big Labor bosses are ramping up their biggest forced-dues political spending blitz in history.
"The AFL-CIO plans to roll out its biggest political campaign ever," according to a Wall Street Journal news report. The AFL-CIO's campaign will be even larger than its 2008 effort to elect President Barack Obama, according to the Journal.
The American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) union plans to fund "a massive incumbent protection program," according to the union's boss, Gerald McEntee.
"We have got to protect the incumbency in the House. We have got to protect the incumbency in the Senate," McEntee said.
"It is going to be hard. Those tea-baggers are out there," McEntee added, using the derisive phrase that leftists use to describe Americans concerned about massive federal deficits and reckless government spending.
Union bosses like McEntee know exactly what is at stake.
While they are upset that they haven't been able to achieve all the legislative goals that seemed in their reach when President Obama took office, they know that keeping their majorities in Congress is crucial.
Frankly, the union bosses have been surprised that ferocious opposition by Right to Work supporters nationwide has derailed some of their more extreme plans like Card Check Instant Organizing.
But they haven't given up yet.
Rich Trumka, the militant firebrand who runs the AFL-CIO, called on Congress to tack Card Check provisions on to more popular legislation when he said, "There are multitudes of things we can get it attached to, and we will."
This strategy is combined with Big Labor's usual policy of threatening political retaliation against anyone in either party who stands in their way.
I hope you understand what a profound threat we face this year. I'm particularly concerned about the prospect of Big Labor's forced-dues political machine targeting Right to Work supporters in key races this November.
With your help, the Foundation must gird for battle right now and be ready to:
With free legal aid from the Foundation, Wakeman filed a complaint with the FEC.
The FEC ultimately substantiated Wakeman's complaint. Union officials blamed it on a "technical error." We believe the only reason this technical error was exposed is because the amount was over the $200 threshold for disclosure.
Most monthly union dues assessments do not exceed $200, so it is possible this "technical error" is laundering millions in forced dues right into union political activity -- and no one would ever know.
The Foundation has been a much-needed watchdog against the union bosses many times, including our FEC complaint against Service Employees International Union (SEIU) bosses for diverting $26 million in forced dues to its front group, America Coming Together (ACT).
That case ended with a massive $775,000 fine against ACT, the third largest fine in FEC history!
No other nationwide organization is poised to spring into action immediately to stop Big Labor's illegal use of forced-dues cash to advance its political agenda.
That's why it's vital that you help the Foundation today. There's no time to spare.
Please consider chipping in with a tax-deductible contribution of $10 or more today.
With your help, Foundation attorneys will be able to react immediately against Big Labor's illegal use of forced dues for politics wherever it occurs.
With so many challenges ahead of us, it is vital that we act immediately to stop Big Labor illegality.
Please chip in with a tax-deductible gift today. I eagerly await your reply.
Sincerely,

Mark Mix

With your help, the Foundation must gird for battle right now and be ready to:
- Prosecute cases against union activists who illegally seize and spend forced-dues money to get their cronies elected and to lobby Congress and state legislatures for bigger government, higher taxes, or more forced unionism privileges.
- Protect popular state Right to Work laws that make union affiliation voluntary in 22 states. Union bosses are mounting end runs around these laws, and they may try to wipe them completely off the map by repealing Section 14(b) of the federal Taft-Hartley Act.
- Expose Big Labor's misdeeds. Every time Foundation attorneys file charges against union bosses for breaking the law, misappropriating union dues, or instigating violence against workers, the Foundation hammers the union bosses in the press for their ugly abuses.
