Special Dispensation

That's more of a Catholic term, actually.  And one that George Carlin made famous almost forty years ago.

True, if False Messiah wanted to go the full monte, he'd have to take a serious demotion to mere Pope of the Church of the Poisoned Mind.  But in the idolatrous context of the current time, the term does kinda fit:

Obama “respects the right of anybody — Democrat, Republican, independent — to disagree with his opinion on this,” White House spokesman Bill Burton told reporters Tuesday.

“Senator Reid is a fiercely independent individual,” Burton said. “It’s one of his strengths as a leader of the Democratic Party. So the president feels completely fine that [they] might disagree.”

I'll pause here to give your eyes a chance to stop spasmotically rolling....

Gee, how gracious of the Li'l King to give us all permission to disagree with his self-evidently superior wisdom and tolerance and a whole buncha other virtuous traits he and his surrogates can't stop telling the rest of us how completely we lack.  I say that because it is equally as self-evident that he doesn't respect that disagreement he's given his blessing to exist any farther than Michael Bloomberg can spit.

What he DOES respect is Donks who can read his triangulation telegraphing without having to be swatted upside the head.  Even if it does mean they're aping their "loony", "extreme" Republican challengers.

Meanwhile, out the OTHER side of his mouth....:

Sources tell CBS 2’s Kramer that Governor Paterson is concerned that Mayor Mike Bloomberg, a staunch supporter of putting the mosque at ground zero, and President Barack Obama, might be advising mosque leaders to dig in their heels and insist on the present location…

Paterson’s office confirmed that discussions between his staff and the developer’s staff have been ongoing and said the governor expects to have a meeting scheduled in the near future.

Contra Eeyore, I have no difficulty seeing The One up to his eyeballs in this mosque crap behind the usual six degrees of separation; it's entirely consistent with his publicly wading into it in the first place.  Think about it: This tacitly acknowledges that his current "brand" is in the toilet and uses it like a World War II-era "mullberry", as a political breakwater to provide imperiled Donks with at least some room to manuever, as well as distracting from his economic depression.

Not that it's a viable strategy with the public at large against the Victory Mosque by a two to one margin, and five to three in New York City.  But it's like when a category five hurricane is coming - yeah, boarding up your windows is kind of a waste of time when your whole house is going to be squashed flat by the first storm surge, but you do it anyway.  And when you go out the front door in order to pile into your chosen for survival vehicle, you lock the door just because.

Exit question: Think F. Lee Levin and this apostate Muslim REALLY fall within the bounds of Red Barry's proclaimed "dissent is okey-dokey" zone?

And when B.O. does his post-presidency televised interview series, wouldn't you lick airport bathroom floors clean to see Levin in the David Frost chair?
