The Bitterest Dregs
It's no secret that Alan Grayson (D-EAD) is both a despicable lowlife and a roaring buffoon. His two-year audition for a prime-time slot on MSNBCCCP has tended to get more of the latter treatment than the former, but these two acts of towering libel provide a comforting reminder of the ass-kicking "Teacups" has coming to him in just three dozen days:
Vintage Grayson: a viciously dishonest smear of his GOP conquerer, Dan Webster, and a scarcely any less vicious (and dishonest) exploitation of an elderly Marine Corps League veteran, all the while implying his own Ramboesque patriotism.
Eeyore's lede: "I hope this is the sleaziest ad of the year because, if it isn’t, I don’t want to see the one that is."
Ask, and in fewer than forty-eight hours, ye shall not receive:
"Taliban Dan"? Need anybody say more?
And yet Grayson can't manage to keep the buffoonery out of his propaganda decapitations by implying his expert status as a biblical scholar. Instead, it redundantly reinforces his elite status as a Christophobic bigot:
In both Ephesians and Colossians, the text does call for women to submit to their husbands as they do to the LORD — and also for husbands to “love their wives” (Colossians), and to do so “as Christ loved the church and gave himself for her to make her holy” (Ephesians). In other words, wives submit to their husbands, and husbands sacrifice themselves for their wives and children.
Rarely have malice and ignorance so cancerously catalyzed to vomit such acidic hatred so voluminously. This goes so far beyond a mere congressional race the Florida 8th Congressional District seat is almost beside the point. Alan Grayson is not just a prick, not just an asshole, not just a malignant jester in Crazy Nancy's court. He is, literally, evil. He's wickedness personified. He exemplifies Romans 1:28-32:
Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, He gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
Concludes AP:
As a representation of the man who made [them], the ad[s] simply can’t be improved upon. Grotesque in [their] nastiness and almost gleefully over-the-top in how unfair [they are], [they're] a pitch-perfect expression of the Grayson ethos. I can picture him watching [them] for the first time, smirking all the way.
All the reason Orlando-area voters need to take Teacups out behind the ballot barn and give him the Old Yeller treatment, while desperately striving to keep it only metaphorical.
