The Superior Scholarshippers
The CBC corruption firm of Rangel Waters & Johnson picks up a new partner, and you know what that means - it's time to beat the Bishop!:
Representative Sanford Bishop (D-GA2) awarded three scholarships from the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation to his stepdaughter and wife’s niece between 2003 and 2005, according to records from the non-profit group.
Bishop is the second Democrat found to have funneled Congressional Black Caucus Foundation scholarship funds to relatives, threatening to turn the program into a larger political problem for the party. Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX30) recently paid back $31,000 to the foundation for scholarships that she improperly awarded to various relatives and children of a top staffer.
"Ah, but wait," protests the Bishop, "Nepotism wasn't explicitly against CBC rules until just two years ago! So I am innocent, pure as the wind driven snow!" That, of course, says far more about what kind of sleazy ethics cesspool that cockeyed caucus is than it serves as any kind of, um, fig leaf. And that, in turn, speaks to the inevitability of institutionalizing the corrupt entitlement mentality by racist gerrymandering of congressional districts to ensure and lock in stone little racist fiefdoms like a kind of reparations neoaristocracy. Set up people with their hands permanently out, their ancestors' suffering and injustice a guiltmongering meal ticket in perpetuity, with such a plumb gig and the wonder is that there are any CBC members who AREN'T wading in corruption up to their armpits. As Gabe Malor incitefully asks, "Anyone wanna bet that this is the last one?"
If, BTW, any CBCer wants to make a dope deal "for their family," they can count on the Chairma'm of the Senate Ethics Committee. Evidently, she has the right, um, connections.
