The Window Has Closed

Triple-P isn't among my polling sources, entirely because they're a Donk polling outfit.  Which makes this story all the more indicative:

How big of a problem is Obama’s unpopularity for Democratic candidates? We’re finding that almost no one who disapproves of the President is planning to vote Democratic for key offices this year . . . We’re finding that Democratic candidates are doing only as well as the President’s approval numbers. And with a majority of voters disapproving of Obama in most states that’s a really, really big problem for the party this fall.

Now why would The Party Of Godbama be suffering from a credibility problem?  The NRSC has a few theories:

Ensign Ed chides them for overpromising, but come on, folks, that hype ship sailed four years ago with the Pelosi/Reid "most open, honest, ethical Congress EVAH!" '06 midterm spiel, followed by Hypecane Hopenchange, complete with ocean-lowering, planet-healing, "fixing" a fourteen trillion dollar economy with the stroke of a pen, "inventing" health care like it never existed before January 20, 2009, and appallingly overindulgent wallowings in sheer, high-octane idolatry.  Why did they peddle this ocean of crap?  Because at least most of them really, truly believed it.  They really, truly believed that they could spend America rich, that they could tax America back to prosperity, and that they could borrow America solvent.  And after the Panic of 2008/Democrat Financial Logic Bomb, so did a majority of woefully ignorant voters.

But not for long.  By last summer, the tide was already turning.  After the ObamaCare ramdown that followed last August's health wars, it became inevitable and unstoppable.

It's altogether fitting that a ruling party that never stopped listening to Americans because they were never listening in the first place should find its frantically and flailingly dishonest pleas for electoral clemency falling on deaf ears.

Exit quote from J-Ger:

I’m reminded of Representative Marion Berry, Arkansas Democrat, and his recollection of Obama’s analysis of why Democrats wouldn’t experience another 1994-like blowout: “Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me.”

Yes . . . indeed they do, Mr. President. Indeed they do
