They're Rubber, We're Glue

I seem to remember grade school playground taunts taking this general form:

A testy U.S. Senator John F. Kerry [Fri]day blamed clueless voters with short attention spans for the uphill battle beleaguered Democrats are facing against Republicans across the nation.

“We have an electorate that doesn’t always pay that much attention to what’s going on so people are influenced by a simple slogan rather than the facts or the truth or what’s happening,” Kerry told reporters after touring the Boston Medical Center yesterday…

Democratic consultant Phil Johnston, former chairman of the state party, jumped to Kerry’s defense, saying, “That’s absurd. He’s just making the point that people have real lives to lead and most people are not spending a lot of time worrying about politics, particularly in a tough economy. I’ve known John Kerry for thirty-five years and he doesn’t look down on people.”…

“I think a lot of the anger today – while it’s appropriate because Washington is broken – is not directed at the right people,” said Kerry. “Barney is prepared, as others are, to explain what we’re doing. I think when people hear the facts and they see what we’re doing, it frankly makes sense.”

Do you understand now?  He'll say it again reeeeeeallllllly slllllllllooooooowly so we drooling mongoloids can follow the real-life Brainiac: our Donk overseers are just fine; they've got everything under control, and everything's turning up roses.  It's WE, THE PEOPLE who are "out of touch."  In fact, WE'RE the ones who haven't been listening to THEM, and if we'd just start paying attention to THEIR mindless slogans, we'd realize how just how wonderful we've got it under their benevolent, expert rule.

For that matter, the November election should not be US deciding whether THEY remain in power, but THEM deciding whether WE still deserve the right to vote.  And reportedly, we're polling just awful amongst the Ruling Class (Ain't that right, Mr. Lord?).

But come on, would you really expect anything else from the Boston Balker?  He's like pretty much every other Democrat, so subsumed in his own self-righteousness, moral supremacism, and rampaging hauteur that the thought that he's actually projecting his own party's neuroses on its foes cannot occur to him.  Lurch's cartoonish Thurston Howell III mannerisms just make it nakedly obvious past the capacity of parody to match.

Bill Clinton evidently tried to cover Kerry's ass by spinning that he "didn't mean to disrespect the voters."  And y'know, I can almost believe that.  But then he doesn't HAVE to consciously insult us; it's such a compulsion that he simply cannot help himself.

Not unlike another Dem who actually made it to the White House not named Clinton or Carter, who will also find out just how "out of touch" the electorate is when his number is up two years from now.
