A Post Of His Own
I would have lumped Mo Hinchey's [D-NY22] assholery in with the adjoining "Superior" post but for the "I don't think I killed my re-election chances with my deficit taunt, so I'd better make SURE of it by shoving a reporter into my opponent" coda:
As you can see, I wasn't exaggerating by using the term "taunt". Hinchey's faux-incredulous expression and manner is what you might have expected if she'd asked him what his alien abduction priorities were. It was like Blythe Danner's character ridiculing Fox Mulder at Dana Scully's hearing in the first X-Files movie. Clearly Mo felt like he'd somehow fallen into a time machine and sudden woke up in 1995 or something. Didn't this....woman understand that we don't concern ourselves with bougeoise concepts like "deficits" and "fiscal responsibility" anymore? Doesn't she WANT to be spent rich?
But since SHE brought it up, Hinch wasn't bashful about what he considered the TRUE source of the spiralling national debt:
That's right, tax cuts are the source of all evil AND the Great Recession, HE SAID IT! The only path to economic salvation is if people like HIM confiscate ALL our wealth and ALL our income and dribble back to us as a "generous" subsidy of what THEY think we "need". Hey, it's straight out of the Communist Manifesto, folks. The Gospel according to Marx, and Barry is his prophet, shrimp be upon him, amen.
Clearly Mo was mortally offended by all this knuckle-dragging rightwing extremist primitivist heresy, because he became more and more candid about what he really thinks of the notion of being accountable to his constituents when addressing the press after the debate:
Well, at least he didn't tell Bill Kemble that he was full of something besides baloney. Feel free to insert your "If Hinchey had been a Republican...." observation here.
But Mo - "allegedly" - STILL wasn't done trying to stuff his House seat in Republican challenger George Phillips' back pocket - literally:
After the shooters turned off their cameras and started to break down, Hinchey made a beeline for Kemble and got in his face, according to a YNN videographer who was on the scene. The congressman poked Kemble in the chest aggressively, according to the YNN staffer.
I spoke with Kemble briefly this afternoon, and he told me Hinchey “put his hand on my throat” and then “realized what he had done and walked away.” The YNN shooter told me he did not witness this part of the altercation.
Evidently Kemble and Hinchey have a "history". A term which is looking more and more as also all too descriptive of Mo's eighteen year congressional tenure as well.
