An Omen Of Repeal?

ObamaCare is a disaster that will cause an employer-based coverage-dumping cascade, creating a (heh) tidal wave of as many as fifty million Americans into Red Barry's infernal masterpiece, swamping it and drowning them and us to the horse's bridals for two thousand miles in every direction - says a DEMOCRAT governor:

While it’s too early to proclaim the demise of job-based coverage, corporate number crunchers are looking at options that could lead to major changes.

“The economics of dropping existing coverage is about to become very attractive to many employers, both public and private,” said Governor Phil Bredesen (D-TN)

Nothing new about this message; it was obvious early-on in the Health Wars that the per-employee penalty for dropping group coverages was substantially less than the coverages themselves NOW, much less after premiums accelerated into outer space.  The Pelosi/Reid Politburo deliberately set it up that way to complete the eradication of the private health insurance market and pave the way to single-payer socialized medicine.  It was about as much of a secret as Joe Biden's mental retardation.  Hell, it was so obvious that False Messiah never did succeed in selling O-Care, which is why it grew more unpopular with each successive "historic" speech flogging it, both before and after it was rammed down our throats.

And yet, genuously broadcasting what a True Believer zealot, and motherfrakking liar, he really is, The One keeps a-flogging:

That’s just not going to happen, White House officials say.

“The absolute certainty about the Affordable Care Act is that for many, many employers who cover millions of people, it increases the incentives for them to offer coverage,” said Jason Furman, an economic adviser to President Barack Obama.

"When you have a hammer," the saying goes, "every problem looks like a nail."  Except that nails aren't usually moving targets; rather, they're held in place, either by already having been driven partially into the wall, or by holding it there with your other hand in order to pound it home.  The analogy with socialist/command economics is obvious; the Regime says that employers will maintain group coverage because dropping it would force employers to offer higher wages to compensate, meaning higher employer FICA/Medicare taxes.  But as Ensign Ed explains, the incentives, even if they were what the White House says they are now, will change rapidly, even catastrophically, once the dumping avalanche begins.  The upward wage pressure would dissipate, even collapse, because every other employer will be doing the same thing, at the same time.  A veritable Chinese fire drill this bunch of noodleheaded quiz kids isn't remotely capable of handling.

Picture having your hammer, but facing millions of nails, all of them suddenly in random motion.  Flailing doesn't begin to describe the debacle that's coming.  Even Donk governors like Bredesen are breaking ranks to acknowledge it, because, of course, they'll be a lot closer to the "front lines" than their "god," and they want to be first in line for federal bailout money after "health care reform" bones their states into fiscal oblivion.

Exit quote from Ace:

This must be repealed. ObamaCare must be repealed. We need to have a Congress as full up as Republicans as possible, so that when companies do begin dropping insurance coverage, we need as few Democrats as possible in joining us to override Barack Obama's veto.

So say we all.
