Any Reason Why DeMint Isn't Hitting Murk On Being A Pork Sow?

Dear Fellow Conservative:

In all the noise and static of big political campaigns, some fundamental facts can get lost. Facts like where the candidates stand on defending the unborn.

In Alaska, Democrat Scott McAdams is pro-abortion. Lisa Murkowski is pro-abortion, too. And they're pretty extreme about it.

See, Republican Joe Miller is proudly pro-life. In fact, Miller is the only candidate who has pledged to oppose taxpayer funding for abortion.

That's right. Even in these days of dangerous deficits and looming tax increases, Scott McAdams and Lisa Murkowski just can't bring themselves to oppose using your tax dollars to pay for abortions.

Now, that's extreme.

Joe Miller knows it is morally wrong to force taxpayers to subsidize abortion, and he will fight to stop it.

Regardless of whether someone supports or opposes abortion, most people can agree that tax dollars shouldn't be used to fund it. Everyone except for liberal Democrats and Lisa Murkowski, that is.

Starting this week, the Senate Conservatives Fund will begin a new radio and television ad campaign to make sure Alaska voters know where the candidates stand on this critical issue.

While Democrat Scott McAdams openly acknowledges his support for abortion, Lisa Murkowski doesn't want to admit to Alaska voters she supports it, too. Murkowski's campaign website states that she opposes taxpayer-funding for abortion but she has repeatedly voted for such funding.

Here are several votes where Senator Murkowski ignored Alaska's values and voted to use taxpayer dollars to pay for abortion.

Murkowski voted five times to give foreign aid to non-governmental organizations that perform abortions as a method of birth control or that lobby to overturn pro-life laws.
Murkowski voted against an amendment that would have stopped taxpayer funding from going to the United Nation's Global Fund if the Fund gave any aid to a country supporting programs that commit coercive abortions or involuntary sterilizations.

Murkowski voted against an amendment to prohibit the Department of Health and Human Services from giving grants to organizations that performed abortions unless such abortions were necessary to save the mothers' lives. The prohibition would not have applied to hospitals.
Murkowski voted twice to require the federal government to conduct and support taxpayer-financed research using stem cells from human embryos and destroying the embryos.

In addition to voting for taxpayer-funded abortion, Murkowski has also refused to sign the pledge at DefundAbortion.org.

Joe Miller is the only candidate in this race who will stand up for rights of the unborn. Joe Miller is the only candidate who will stand up for taxpayers.
