Bennet Runs From His Record

Dear Friends:

Appointed Senator Michael Bennet (D-Colorado) is working overtime to hide from his liberal record. After only 18 months in Washington, he acts like he's been there forever.

Bennet has voted for record spending and national debt, voted for big government health care, voted to use our tax money to bail out the car companies, and voted for job-killing tax increases. But now he's trying to hide all of this from the voters.

That is why the Senate Conservatives Fund is launching a new television ad in Colorado next week that tells voters the truth about Michael Bennet.

Senator Bennet is already so worried about this ad that he's trying to discredit it by taking issue with the claim that he voted for job-killing tax increases. He is trying to hide the four separate times he voted to raise taxes in just the past few months. I paid particular attention to these votes because I sponsored the amendments and forced them to a vote on the Senate floor.

On June 23rd, I offered an amendment to stop taxes on capital gains and dividends from going up. Bennet voted to kill the amendment.

On July 21st, I offered an amendment to stop the death tax from coming back to life. Bennett voted to kill the amendment.

On August 5th, I offered an amendment to stop income taxes from going up. Bennet voted to kill the amendment.

And, again on August 5th, I offered an amendment to stop taxes on small business from going up. Bennet voted to kill that amendment, too.

Michael Bennet can run from his liberal record, but he cannot hide. We're going to inform the voters in Colorado with our new television ad so they know the truth and so he can never cast these votes in Washington again.

But I need your help. Media reports are already criticizing me for breaking "protocol" and directly attacking a fellow colleague in an television ad. Apparently it's okay for Michael Bennet to directly attack taxpayers but it's not okay for me to tell people how he voted.

Please help us replace Michael Bennett in November with Ken Buck, a true conservative who will stand up and fight for taxpayers.

There are just a few short weeks left in this race and it's shaping up to be one of the closest in the country. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) has dumped millions into Colorado attacking Ken Buck. We cannot let their efforts go unanswered.
