Card Check Is ALIIIIIIIVE!

Could the Card Check Forced Unionism Bill be pushed through Congress after Election Day? The union bosses have unleashed record-high political spending to defeat pro-Right to Work candidates who have promised to oppose "Card Check" and other union boss power grabs when they go to Washington, D.C. in January. Meanwhile, it's been widely reported that Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are plotting to ram up to 20 bills through Congress in a "lame-duck" session in November. And now AFL-CIO union mogul Rich Trumka has strongly hinted that "Card Check" is on the agenda. According to political newspaper The Hill, "When asked if he had received a commitment from Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill to move the [Card Check Forced Unionism Bill] during the lame-duck session, Trumka told reporters on a conference call to 'stay tuned.'" If passed, the Card Check Forced Unionism Bill would strip employees of their right to a secret ballot election when union organizers target their workplaces. Trumka is no stranger to crafting shameful legislative strategies behind closed doors with top U.S. Senators and Representatives. Just this summer, Trumka was one of the powerful union bosses who met with Nancy Pelosi to demand that she sneak the Police and Firefighter Monopoly Bargaining Bill in to war funding legislation. That dangerous power grab could force all police officers and firefighters nationwide under union boss control and would wreck state and local budgets. Your phone calls, emails, and faxes helped kill that scheme in the Senate. But now the union chiefs are desperate for their allies in Congress to enact their radical agenda -- through any means necessary, including phony "compromise" bills. That's why we must stay vigilant. Stay tuned. Sincerely, ![]() Doug Stafford |
