Defunding ObamaCare

I'm glad to see the Republicans working on a plan to slow down the Obamacare train. First we gotta get them in there and in control, which is looking pretty good, THEN they have to figure out a way to stop this debacle, or at least slow it down considerably. Then we have to get a conservative in the White House in 2012, and stop it altogether.

Republicans could keep their promises to stop healthcare reform even if they cannot repeal it, simply by blocking legislation needed to pay for it, one expert argued Wednesday.

Control of one house of Congress could give the Republicans power to cripple the law, creating "zombie legislation," healthcare expert Henry Aaron of the Brookings Institution wrote in a commentary in the New England Journal of Medicine.

The worst thing they could do is get in there and then not do anything about it. They have to stay bold, as bold as they are on the campaign trail right now. Don't get in there and then get cold feet. They did a little of that after 1994, and Clinton waltzed into re-election. This time has to be different. Show the people you mean what you say! How refreshing would THAT be?

JASmius adds: Well, there was this little matter of our nominating an animate cadaver that year. And you know whose "turn" it'll be at the nomination in '12 - Mitt "RomneyCare" Romney. One could argue that the only thing that will prevent a second Obama term is The One's refusal to get out of his own way.
