Well, they didn't have time to extend the Bush tax cuts before they left town for recess, but by golly, the Senate had time to make sure TV commercials aren't too loud!
Legislation to turn down the volume on those loud TV commercials that send couch potatoes diving for their remote controls looks like it'll soon become law.
The Senate unanimously passed a bill late Wednesday to require television stations and cable companies to limit the volume of commercials and keep them at the level of the programs they interrupt.
The House has passed similar legislation. Before it can become law, minor differences between the two versions have to be worked out when Congress returns to Washington after the November 2 election.
Geez, what a bunch we have in power right now.
I read another article in my browsing this morning, which I can't find now, that says the mid-terms probably won't be over with in November. Yeah, that's one thing that really bothers me. There are a lot of close races, and we know what Democrats do with close races. They steal them. I hope the Republicans have a plan, or we're going to lose some races that we legitimately won. Think Christine Gregoire and Al Franken.
