"Compared to you, Mr. President, Winston Churchill was a panzy." Well, maybe not quite, but given that throwing this full-blown presser-cum-pre-emptive highest-level campaign event for Rahmbo's mayoral campaign, and what an unqualified blessing The One's endorsement is in America Illinois Chicago (?), I guess he felt he HAD to blow Barry at least once more:
Unquestionably these aren't "the best of times," but the worst of times? Well, let's see.
***George Washington led the revolutionary military struggle for American independence against the British Empire, the global superpower of the day. Does the name Valley Forge ring a bell?
***James Madison had to cope with a British invasion a generation later.
***Abraham Lincoln literally inherited the Civil War.
***FDR had this little, insignificant Great Depression to deal with (which he made worse and longer, but that's a different post), followed by a titanic global war against fascism.
***Ronald Reagan inherited an economy this bad plus an equally raging inflation/interest rate death spiral and the spectre of strategic nuclear checkmate at the hands of the Evil Empire.
***Even The One's hated predecessor faced the 9/11 attacks and the (at the time) universally anticipated possibility of numerous sequels.
Besides, Red Barry's own party sabotaged the U.S. economy this time - to give him, in Rahmbo's infamous phrase, "a crisis to exploit". And exploit it he has, which, as they're finding out to their consternation, is NOT the same thing as "leadership".
And just think: his obsequious bootlicking may all be for naught:
Attorney Burt Odelson, a noted elction-law expert, is predicting Rahm Emanuel will be ineligible for mayor because he is not a legal resident of Chicago.
Odelson told Roe and Roeper on WLS Radio that when Emanuel leased out his Chicago home he could no longer claim he is a resident.
“He rented his house out in Sept 09 and has not been back since and has no residency in Chicago,” Odelson said.
Odelson says he has been involved in several residency cases in Illinois that “the law is clear.”
Indeed. On the other hand, since when has the law ever mattered - or been applied - to these people?
