Sunrise In The Sunshine State
Finally, a post on the Florida Senate race without mention of Admiral Tolwyn's jaundiced understudy in it:
"Reaganesque," gushes DrewM. I say it's even better than that. Dutch didn't become a national political figure until he was fifty-three, or fourteen years older than Senator Rubio is right now. The Gipper remained on the national stage for twenty-five years. Senator Rubio could double that if he so chooses. He's that good.
But...running for president in 2016? Why would he try to primary President Pawlenty? Let him serve a couple of Senate terms, then run for governor of Florida in 2022 and get two terms of executive experience. He'll only be sixty-one in 2032. Isn't that soon enough to become America's First Hispanic President?
