Dear Jim, I'm picking up disturbing reports from Capitol Hill. Union-label Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid may try to ram through the Police and Firefighter Monopoly Bargaining Bill (S. 3194) as early as next week. One union operative told the media this week that "Majority Leader Reid very much wants to bring the bill up." And Congressional experts report Big Labor is all but demanding the Police and Firefighter Monopoly Bargaining Bill as payback in the "lame duck" session for re-electing Senator Reid. This radical bill is designed to force every police officer and firefighter in the nation under union-boss control -- and is just the first step in forcing all public employees under Big Labor's thumb. Worse, the union bosses and their allies in the U.S. Senate and House hope the unprecedented energy from concerned citizens like you during the election has died out. That's why we have to stay vigilant. We must prove them wrong. Please, be prepared to do everything you can to defeat this dangerous legislation that will further strain local budgets and override duly-enacted state laws. Faxed petitions. Personal emails. Phone calls. You and I must be prepared to blast Capitol Hill. The union bosses have already privately schemed with Harry Reid behind closed doors.
