The Most Dangerous Time

National Right to Work Committee

On Tuesday, the American people kicked out dozens of incumbent Congressmen who favored expanding forced unionism control over workers and the economy.

Led by National Right to Work Committee supporters and our campaign to not let union-label politicians hide their records, voters saw through the smokescreen and voted strongly for workplace freedom and economic opportunity.

But record union boss forced-dues-funded political spending, which an overwhelming majority of union members consider wasteful and unnecessary, saved a handful of Big Labor's biggest apologists in Congress.

The most notable beneficiary of the union boss political machine is Nevada's Harry Reid, who has wielded his leadership position unapologetically to do Big Labor's bidding.

While you and other Right to Work supporters deserve a hearty "Thank you," now is not the time to relax.

You see, now we're entering what is potentially the most dangerous legislative phase -- a "lame duck" session of Congress in which outgoing legislators try to ram through one union boss power grab after another, knowing they no longer face the voters' wrath.

AFL-CIO union mogul Rich Trumka already warned the media to "stay tuned," strongly hinting that the Card Check Forced Unionism Bill is on the lame duck agenda. "Card Check" would strip workers of their right to secret ballot elections when union organizers target their workplaces.

Trumka and the other union barons are also likely to demand the speech-killing "Disclose" Act and Police and Firefighter Monopoly Bargaining Bill in the November session before new pro-Right to Work Congressmen and Senators, who have pledged to oppose forced unionism, take office in January.

Time and again over these last two years, concerned citizens like you have stalled versions of these dangerous bills. Your phone calls, letters, faxes, and emails to Capitol Hill made the difference.

And over the last month, your generous contributions helped us contact voters all across the country informing them where their candidates stood on forced unionism.

This week, the American people spoke up and sent a strong message to Congress. Now it's up to you and me to ensure those in power listen.

Sincerely,

Mark Mix
