Obama's Tax Hike Surrender To Raise Tighty-Righty Expectations Cruelly

Obama’s surrender on extending the Bush tax cuts across the board is a huge victory for America and for the League of American Voters.

As you know, earlier this year, we and our members embarked on a national campaign to have those tax cuts FULLY extended.

We launched a national petition drive and hit the air waves with a TV ad campaign featuring our spokesman former Senator Fred Thompson.

In all, more than 300,000 Americans signed our petition.

But more importantly, we educated millions of Americans to the dangers of NOT fully extending the Bush tax cuts.

We also warned of the dangers of increasing the capital gains taxes and dividend tax rates from 15% in the middle of a recession.

Thanks to your help, President Obama has gotten the message! He is not only backing a full two year extension of the Bush cuts, he is also freezing capital gains and dividend rates.

Frankly, it was a lonely fight.

We were the ONLY national membership organization willing to spend money on this fight.

In all we spent close to $1 million in cash and resources to ensure victory.

I must tell you that money does not grow on trees.

It is thanks to you -- our members -- who have donated generously and also supported us with annual membership dues of just $25 -- this enabled us to have such a powerful effect.

We now have an "army" of 400,000 Americans now standing behind us at the League of American Voters.

But our job is not done.

We need to make sure Congress backs the compromise bill for the full extension of the cuts. Extreme liberals in the House and Senate are threatening to stop the bill.

We also need to prepare for coming battles in Congress.

Our number one priority for the new Congress is to repeal Obamacare.

We need to turn this socialist nightmare back. We need to cut the $1 trillion in new costs taxpayers like you and me will have to cover and pay for.
